I'm dying for the area between Qiaoying Village and Stormterror's lair to open up. Also a Mondstadt expansion in general. It really needs some love lol
So agree! With the two new Liyue characters, Liyue now has the most amount of characters out of the nation. Like after the game came out, they didn't really release Mondstadt characters anymore and it's like they don't care. I really just want new Mondstadt characters and area!
As someone who gets obsessed with how the world evolves and likes to take photos of how places looks before and after changes I highly appreciate this video, I wasn't expecting such high quality video. It always amaze me when I see those new regions from the distance for the first time, is shocking!
Canonically, it's much bigger. Just be glad we may not get the full desert in the game because even if they don't make it canon size, we'd probably still get like 3 more desert areas. We're most likely getting one more in the area between Liyue, Fontaine and Sumeru anyway since the port was said to be around the desert and I think that's the place where Jeht is hunting the last survivor of her tribe. Who knows. Maybe she'll get a model update and become playable lol
I still have pictures of the placeholder areas before 4.4. I was among the few who knew the Paimon glitch before it was outed by that guy in Bilibili and it got "fixed". The difference is really night and day. We used to watch our step here all the time because the bottom was uneven and we fell off a few instances. Same with the area where Monds extension should go. Fun fact: the virtual real estate for Dorman Port and the Dandelion Sea areas (I assume) is actually huge with the edges aligning to where Fontaine's current newest area is. It's been there for a while now so I hope it expands soon.
Honestly find the dandelion sea to be a fictional location. Granted not against it being added I just find the evidence of its existence to be blown out of proportion
This is another thing that gets me excited for future updates is seeing how the old maps are gonna connect together with new regions. Still waiting for Sumeru Port, Blackcliff Forge, Sumeru Southern Coast, Dornman Port, and all of the outer edges of Stormterror’s Lair.
Used the private server version of the game. You can then use a controller to do smoother camera animations. Edit- It seems like they also used a mod too. It helps to save camera positions for smoother transitions.
@@HoYo_Siraeda Hahaha, our uploader here fears no ban! If only Hoyo allowed us to use mods that wouldn't give any technical advantages but rather enhance camera experiences like this, we would have top of the line video production like this :)
Wow, having taken a look through your entire channel, everything you have produced is produced with great care to maintain a high standard of quality and very informative! Seeing Teyvat in this way is a wonderful experience and Ilove learning about all the various changes Mihoyo implements as the versions march on. I hope you keep making videos for a long time!
This is amazing. Seeing such comparison tells me we cannot really draw any conclusions on how the future regions will look like based on the placeholder terrain. The fact that Fontaine is surrounded by a lake also doesn't help, even in 4.8 we will still be in the dark were even Natlan is.
Yeah while I knew this was the case for a while now, seeing the subtle changes in Placeholder areas change and be replaced very much shows why they often try to obscure them.
It's on the far side of Sumeru's desert! Augustus Lovelace tells us this fact (and a lot of other geography info) in the 3.8 world quest "Recollections of a Fontainian." It's fairly short and also confirmed where Chenyu Vale was ahead of time, although we already had location crumbs for that at the time.
And to think that there are people out there who would rather waste their time crying about primogems, instead of spending their time exploring this beautiful new area.
I always gaslight myself when a new location drops because I'll be questioning if this one connecting land has always been here or if it's part of the new area 💀
Still waiting for them to give us Blackcliff forge, the coastal area between Sumeru and Liyue. I want to be able to take a boat from Inazuma all the way to Port Ormos and up the river through Sumeru and eventually to Fontaine when that area gets filled out.
Does anyone know what's inside the doughnut? There is a literal doughnut form in the map now because of the unreleased area north of Sumeru's rain forest. Is it just a big lake??
1. from everything I've seen from other people it's apparently the sumeru port that's been left out the game for a long time and to be expected to appear eventually as it's also apparently related to khanriah as the port is above khanriah/ part of it. 2.People have also stated from quotes from characters/lore, the port is situated above part of khanriah and khanriah can also be seen/viewable above from the port into the bottom (whatever that means) as khanriah plays a big role into the world and story of genshin who tf knows when we'll get to the port especially if it's "actually" viewable from above the port which would be insane as we've already seen the entrance gate/door to khanriah
The fact that the placeholder environment is 100% irrelevant to what the area will look like when the map does unlock in the future is very disappointing to me. When I used to play this game way more in the early days of genshin I loved going to the edge of map and looking at the areas and the layout and thinking how it will look like when it unlocks but this just proves it could be a fully flat textureless floor because they have no plans for what it will actually look like. That really kills a big part of the mystery and enjoyment of waiting for these areas in the future honestly.
i like this kind of videos, also, i kinda like the 4.3 version like only mountains and rivers/lakes simple but wanna explore it, idk if im the only one but i stress out a bit when a new area come because is ones again a lot of treasures, puzzles, side quests, etc. Before 4.2 i never used the interactive map for 100%, now i only take things with it because i want to have the 100% but without dying knowing a few chests and maybe puzzles are left god knows where
i stopped playing before sumeru release. it feels weird to see fontaine was so close with qingce village. considering qingce village was there since 1.0 and I was always wondering what will it be behind this
I never knew that Fontaine and Liyue were that close. We could basically glide from one nation to the other. Dope. Tho, in the lore, maybe their distance should be much further.
Yes, the true scale of Teyvat in lore is actually quite massive. In-game descriptions even mention that traveling from Liyue to Mondstadt can take about a week or so
As you can see from the full map comparisons here the placement of the mountains don’t really mean that there’s going to be land there. People think that Natlan is definitely going to be to the left of Fontaine but I really disagree.
Incredible production quality! Thanks for such a great and beautiful video showcasing the map update, it's so great to see how these new areas make the map so much more alive.
I used a mod to unlock the camera, recorded footage of areas separately before and after the version update, and put them together to add transition effects. The production process was actually more complicated, we had no way of knowing the exact orientation of the new maps, and to get good shots we had to measure their orientation in various ways, which consumed a lot of our time
It's kind of interesting to see that the general shape of the land existed before implementation. You can see the early ideas that took root and sprouted into the content that we see in the new updates. And the waters and mechanisms of Yilong Wharf tie Fontaine to Liyue so well
i like how it looks like cinematic view but at the same time compare between before and after the terrain update. the fontaine terrain update was a big suprise of how unique it is
