Planning laddakh 15 Oct-25 Oct.2024 ..your suggestion about temperature and route access. We are 2 people on bike from delhi. Is it safe to visit now? Also..at this time.can we see pangong in natural condition or it will be covered by snow Plzz guide .. thank you in advance
Pangong will not be covered with snow. Passes on the way may have some snow and in case of overcast conditions there can be snowfall at passes or closures can happen too for a day or two. Now, Middle of October onwards, I DO NOT recommend at all traveling from Manali to Leh. If at all, you are comfortable with cold bike ride and going well prepared, I will suggest you travel only on Srinagar Leh Highway and avoid Manali Leh Highway but stilll go prepared for cold conditions as October is quite cold for bike ride especially near passes and lakes. Please check my video here on the risks outlined for traveling on Manali Leh Highway and decide yourself: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L9CHwFbqpok.html
Well, temparature wise in June end, it starts getting pleasant in Ladakh. High passes and lakes will still be cool to cold in nights but manageable.. Plus you seems to be a doctor so would understand AMS concerns, but still do check the video on traveling to Ladakh with kids: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NT9Z9VXvUKM.html
Hello Dheeraj.. We are a group of six friends, 38 Years old, n already booked a ladakh trip by flight, 9th to 14th August 2023.. Will it be extremely cold or what? Do we need to cary winner clothes? Could you please suggest the list of things that we must need to cary.. Our plan. 1st day, reaching to leh, night stay at leh hotel 2nd Day Leh Sightseen, night stay at leh hotel 3rd Day Leh to Nubra vally, tent ⛺ basic facilities 4th Day , Nubra to Pangong lake, tent⛺ basic facilities 5th Day, Pangong to Leh, stay in Leh 6th Day, Leh to Delhi to Ahmedabad
It is monsoon time in general up there in North and at some parts of Manali - Leh Highway (like before Baralacha La) and Srinagar - Leh Highway (like before Kargil) you might need to face monsoon hassles but once you get closer to Ladakh, then Ladakh being rain shadow region is least affected by monsoon rains. Landslides or slush or road blocks are pretty common in the month of monsoons but these landslides are cleared in a day or two unless there is a very major one. Again there are ALWAYS risks of traveling in mountains in the rainy season. No one can predict anything but it is a well known fact about the risks of traveling in mountains Having said that, rains does reach Ladakh nowadays but in general, it is overcast days or in form of light drizzles. I will suggest you go thru my video on 10 Tips for a Trip to Ladakh in Monsoons at the link:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TQjBw5pCGx8.html

Hello Dheeraj. Very well explained. I will probably travel to Ladakh this summer. Do you have any authentic, honest and govt registered tour operator, who can help me?
You can get in touch with Leh based tour provider Ken bhai +91 84510 57819, +91 866-9121640. You can refer my name or DevilOnWheels to him and he shall do his best to offer best experience. He is very authentic and one of the best up there.
Hello Dheeraj, thank you for the suggestions, i am going to leh on July 8th 2023. Any specific suggestion about clothing and specially on traveling you would like to provide us please.
Hi Dheeraj, My name is Priya and I live in Goa. I was asked to post my query here by your brother in law. ForT of all I have started following your videos and insta and they have been very informative. So thank you. My question is we are planning a holiday to HP by mid May for 10-11 days. I am a bit confused whether we should do the Spiti valley or should we stick to seeing the Kangra valley area. We have seen a bit of the Kinnaur valley ( sangla Shoja etc ) Whether Spiti would be a good choice in May ( we are 2 couples all post 50 age group ) is what has kind of difficult to decide. Please give us some idea of the same if you could. I am also new to commenting on you tube so hoping I can come around to check your suggestions. Thank you, Priya Kalokhe
Hello Priya Ji, thanks for taking time and commenting here. I am sorry I focus now here on RU-vid only and hence could not reply on instagram. Well, as you have ample of days in hand I will recommend that you try out Spiti Valley, as with those many days in hand it will completely worth it. Here is a video of Spiti Valley itinerary to get started: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g3dzmou9o3Y.html
Those who are traveling from far western states like Gujarat rajasthan, where summer is on pick at around 45c, will be feeling chilled weather much more. Therefore, they have to carry appropriate clothesline.
Thank you for suggestion, I will plan something around bicycle. If you want I have blogs written on bicycle trip to Ladakh and also there is a video in the playlist for camping in Ladakh/Spiti.
Thank you Naveen bhai, yes, I took a break for sometime to take care of certain things in life.. but resumed back sometime in November and have tried to be consistent since then.. new video coming today too 😀😀
Hi Sir, I am traveling to ladakh this April. Can you please suggest me some jackets, I won't b biking but will b travelling in TT.. it's confusing with so many jackets in the Market
Well, it is difficult to answer without more context. However, I will say if you do not want to travel frequently in winter time then it is not worth investing money in specialized gear. Get something warm from Woodland or something that you can wear in your daily life on cold days. You will anyways need layering so you can overcome the shortcomings. If you plan to travel frequently to such places in cold conditions then only you should think of specialized jacket/gear.
Yes it is a good time to travel Ladakh.. but for detailed answer you can check this video Best Time to visit Leh Ladakh 2023 | Best Month to visit Ladakh | Best Time for Ladakh Trip Bike Car ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tUAb9m31ue0.html
Sir, i need your advice on camping with self owned tents at leh-ladakh, pls advice about what are the possibilities, for your info we have planned to go srinagar leh manali circuit starting from May 20th
I need one help. Im planning to trip Ladakh alone (with my wife). Im planning to rent a bike in Srinagar and drop in Manali. My question is that such bikes are available in Srinagar? I heard that outside rent bikes are not allowed in Ladakh...is it true?
@abhishektastic Ideally, outside rental bikes are not allowed for sightseeing in Ladakh. So as per the rules, you cannot do it. However, if you are ready to take a risk, then it is up to you in case of any checking done by bike union guys, you will be sent back or you need to go back, do not get into a fight or tussle with them.
@@raghavendramaiyabc just out of curiosity wanted to know is there any bike Rental in Srinagar which gives bikes till Manali (we can drop bike in Manali)
Hi Dheeraj, Have been following your clips on Lahaul and Spiti and also Ladakh. We are a group of senior citizens, and plan to go to Ladakh by self drive cars. SUV of course. Also based in Surat Gujarat. So far off. Please guide. Nimesh.

I am planning to travel to Leh by bike with tour operator in the June month. Could you suggest what boots should I carry. I don't have any riding boots so far and I hardly do any long rides.
Weather at passes and lakes is still cool to cold, so carry mix of woollens and light woollens. Lower hills, if traveling by road, will be hot. So, you need to pack layered clothing as passes may have snow and lakes are high altitude so remain cold especially in morning/evenings.
I also consider April to be a winter month in Ladakh even though the snow clearance operations are in full swing on Manali Leh Highway and Srinagar Leh Highway. Hence, you must carry heavy woolen for a Ladakh trip in April. Among the list mentioned in this article, the must-have clothing items to bring to Ladakh in April are listed as - heavy woolen jacket or parka (windproof), - woolen cap, - inner thermals, - fleece jacket, - heavy woolen clothing, - woolen socks, - warm insulated shoes or trekking boots and, - sunglasses
Hi Dheeraj, We are a group of 4 friends planning a 12-14 day trip to Leh Ladakh in last week of June this year after our graduation. It has been our dream trip that we have been planning to do since our beginning of graduation, my question are What would be the travel or transport expense if we take public transportation for Delhi to Leh and Leh to Delhi while using rented bikes in Leh for local commute? Also how to access the public transportation for Delhi to Leh and vice versa and it’s ease of access What would be the estimate cost for passes, permissions, entries and miscellaneous.
Please check this video buddy for entire cost: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nQ9NtpUU2Yg.html Also another video is also coming tomorrow on how to make a trip to Ladakh using public transport. Do check that too.
Hello. Actually im planning to go on 8th of September to Leh . Please tell me what precautions should i take and is it advisable to go in such season? Weather will be perfect since it's a shoulder season.. also when should i consume Diamox Tablet???
It is a good time to travel Ladakh.. are you flying to Leh? Regarding medicine as it is known for side effects, I will recommend that you plz consult a doctor too
Plz help me in letting me know the bike policy? I mean if we r taking rental bike from Manali do we have to change bike in leh also ? Can't we carry on with the same bike we took from Manali according to new policy ? And if yes wbut if we will carry from Delhi or Chandigarh then do we need to change bike at leh then also ?
Yes, you cannot use outside Leh rental bike for sightseeing in Ladakh. You have to rent local Leh bike for sightseeing in Ladakh no matter where you rent the bike from. The problem with Manali rented bikes was till last year that they were not even allowed to reach Leh. You have to drop them at Sarchu and arrange a leh bike from Sarchu. Now this year both unions have agreed to allow at least on highways.
Hey sir.. we are traveling to spiti in march end.can tell us the climate eill be and cmothes and footwear to carry and whr to buy them or any links. We are clueess wat to buy actually

I am going to plan with my friends on this november first or second week, we want to visit pangong, leh, nubra and other famous places then may need to go to kargil and we will take bike or car or taxi rented, what will be the temperature there in nov. ? Is it safe to travel there like what will be condition there in nov ? Please guid me
November is quite cold and winter like conditions in Ladakh.. You should be traveling by flight to Leh. @@discoverwithdheeraj thanks i have watched your tagged videos But in nov. 1-2 week will be that chill and risky like snowfall, balcksnow on road, as compare to jan-march As i want to visit pangong and nubra via bike, will i will be able to pass those passes, or there will be heavy snow in nov. What will be temp. in pangong and nubra, if i do night stay there ? Please guide me
Bhai, on passes there will be black ice and areas where sun shade be there. Doing bike trip in such cold is only recommended in case you already have done such cold weathe rides. Heavysnow is not that much in November, it is dry cold.
pl do write about is riding jackets required for ladakh as of now considering roads or good. woolen jackets with knee/ankle protectors are sufficient for bike travel in ladakh
Bhai, it will be cold in May in general especially at passes and lakes. So, go with woolens and layerd clothing. Refer the section of shoulder season clothing in this video.
Dhiraj Bhai , one question. Is it possible to cross Kunzum pass in the 1st week of June by Tempo Traveller? Also possible to visit Chandratal at that time ? Plz reply then then we will book flight tkt to Chandigarh. We will go through Kinnaur.
Bhai most likely roads will be open by that time.. usually they do by end of May but if you can push the plan by a week more then it makes it almost certain

jo rider proper riding suit phen krr niklta h unhe toh khair rain coat ki jarurat nhi hoti lekin jo hmare jese low budget rider hote h unhe rain coat baarish or hawa or jese ki aapne kha tha ki proper ek layer bhd jati h or uska asli benifit jab road khulta h toh aapne dekha hi hoga road k dono aur baraf ki diwar hoti h or jab hum uske biich se bike nikalte h or jo barfili hawa aati h usse hume safe rkhti h
Sir, I always recommend carrying sunscreen cream to Ladakh.. at least SPF 50 and more. If it is bright and sunny, better to apply to bare parts of the body..
@@discoverwithdheeraj that's indeed a good suggestion. Though we had some initial experience of sunburn during our trekking in Nepal way back in 1997 in spite of applying normal sunscreen cream, we had overcame that by using a good UV protection sunscreen. I am visiting the Himalayas after a long long time, and needed reassurance. Your guidance is like a ready reckoner and that saves us lot of time searching for facts. Thanks a bunch dear.🙏
@shruticharan722 i use Banana Boat Sports SPF 50 minimum but some people with sensitive skin dont like it as it is one of those sticky types but whatever you pick have at least spf50 or more
Dheeraj bhai, this year please provide an update on Leh Manali bike rental union issue which is happening at Sarchu border. I have heard from many Leh operators that Manali bike rentals are stopped at Sarchu border and not even allowing to Leh city. Need ur valuable tip so that I can plan my bike trip from Manali to Leh. Otherwise my iternary will be disturbed if they don’t allow the bikes there.
