I am doing BA in psychology as I think understanding a human behaviour is really important! It not only helps others but also me , to understand and analyse what I am going through. I was almost stuck when everyone was telling me that you won't get anywhere if you take psychology as your major but thank god I found you. I really am interested in graphic design and UI and UX it amazes me and I love creativity it brings peace to my mind . What would you suggest I do next after my BA in psychology??

Thank you so much for this amazing video! I'm interested in doing BS in Digital Media Marketing because it's a blend of Business, Design, Media & Technology. Also this course includes interactive media, graphic design, ux/ui management, web design etc and also planning to do bachelors in psychology after bachelors in digital media marketing. I think this will help me to get into UX/UI Design.

@@subscribetothischannelforn8907 Hi, sure. It's very interesting program you will take classes in design, psychology and business. We have manay "management" classes including marketing, brand management etc and on the design side it's more about graphic, web and UX/UI design etc. And some creative media stuff like production, photography etc.

Your video was of great help! I want to know more about the degrees, requirements and other aspects of becoming a UX/UI designer. Is there any way I could have a more private conversation about the same with you? It would really help me a lot as Im really confused right now regarding this field and my college.

Thanks so much, Design Gal for sharing these insights with the world. What about individuals from a business background?
@DesignGal
@DesignGal 5 лет назад
Business-minded folks are awesome for UX! Especially because you you have an understanding of what is needed from the business side, not just the user side and both are important. There are also roles for Product Owner that is really more of a strategic, business-focused role that kind of oversees the product design that could be great to look into as well.

Im so interested in UX/UI. had started school doing studio art-graphic design but randomly took a job helping kids with autism (I cant be picky had to take whatever in this economy) that will pay for my schooling in full *IF* I switch to psychology. happy to know I can still get to the destination of UX/UI. just nervous about not being able to get an internship in tech space (want to do video game UX) with a psych degree and I always felt internships would be the way in. and also my portfolio being limited to what I did my first few semesters of school
@DesignGal
@DesignGal 2 года назад
Internships can be hard to get for anyone starting out in this field, unfortunately. If you are able to teach yourself what you can online, there are a ton of resources out there that can help you get more portfolio pieces. Good luck to you!

I had my undergraduate in Media Studies, would you think I would be able to cope with no background in design? I'm really interested in UX design but just a little nervous cause its a grad school program.

It would really depend on the program I think. Sometimes, though, being thrown into an environment where you're forced to learn isn't a bad thing! You will learn quickly :)

I want to be on a UX designer track, but a lot of these videos on yt make me feel guilty of getting a degree is the first place (all the boot campers). I’m a 1st year freshman. Major in art, concentration in graphic design. I strongly considering CIS as my double major or minor. Would you recommend? I’m up for anything, but I feel so lost and don’t know anyone locally who is an UI/UX designer.
@DesignGal
@DesignGal 2 года назад
Do not feel guilty! It is a huge privilege to be able to go to college. I personally loved college and am so thankful I did it (though this was a long time ago now and things have changed!). I did the same thing, Art major with Graphic Design concentration. You can get to UI/UX from there, just learn as much as you can about designing for digital, not just print. You got this :)

Would majoring in Arts, Graphic & Interactive Design and minoring in psychology work for UX Design? Or should I try minoring in CS? I cant decide but I really do want to do psychology but I feel like having a techy background might boost my applications?? Idk
@DesignGal

Hi, the major sounds very applicable, the phych/CS minors would only be helpful to an extent, and I'm not sure they're worth getting. You can always learn some basic HTML/CSS on your own without getting a minor!

Would a degree in Human Computing Interation be helpful to become a Product Manager? I just got a remote position as a Customer Success Associate for a health tech company and I’ll be helping users setup the device among other duties. I see that it won’t be too hard to move up to Product Manager but I’m wondering if I should jus finish my associates in liberal arts and transfer to a 4 year doing HCI.
@DesignGal

Hmm.. for a product designer HCI might be useful but not so much for product manager. Those are 2 different things. Better yet is to be able to learn/train on the job if you can!
