@@saekki5023 I KNOW it's original color is blue and black but it just doesn't appear that way in the picture. I discovered that if you use high brightness while looking at the photo you can see blue and black but when it's low brightness you can see white and gold

the exact opposite for me. i only see black and blue and always wished i could see it through the eyes of people who saw white and gold

I don't understand. Which part would be white and which part would be gold? I don't see anything remotely resembling either color. The shining light makes it look washed out but it's so obviously blue and black that I cannot comprehend what people are talking about with white and gold.

I can only see it as blue, but as that is apparently the true colour, I have an exercise for you to try that might overcome the illusion. Please let me know if it works not. Zoom in on the image so that the part that is white for you fills more of the screen, to make the next part easier. Cover up the rest of the image with a hand, so you are peeking through a hole and only seeing a part of the white area of the dress, nothing surrounding it. With your other hand start the video at a timestamp where the dress is not on screen, to give your brain a chance to see it afresh when the dress appears again, careful to only peep through the hole you make with your hand so that nothing else can get used by the brain for assumed lighting context, as that is what causes the brain to make a faulty colour correction. I tried this on the orange and brown square example used earlier in the video and it worked, both squares looked orange when viewed separately through my hand peephole, presumably because doing that made a shadow that the visual cortex uses as context and lightens the brown. But they were both that colour and stopped changing when the video took the image's own shadow away.

dude its litterally changing clours in front of my eyes this is so cool, if i watch the end and look at the blue for a couple seconds, i guess my brain gets somewhat of a placebo into realizing its now blue and black so it changes, but at a first glance its white and gold and sometimes its a little of both what the hell

This gif is a good visual. They're basically saying your brain tries to determine the color based off the surroundings. If you see it as white and gold, your brain interprets the dress is under blue lighting and filters the blue out. If you see it as black and blue, your brain interprets the dress is in yellow lighting and filters the gold out. If you can't recognise the lighting conditions in that photo I'd say your art may be lacking in terms of colour and light. I looked at your channel and see that you prefer high contrast with reduced or no tones, so that tracks. I've spent 40 years studying colours and light interaction. My art usually has a heavy focus on light and shadow, ambient light conditions, reflective light, subtle variations in hue and tone, etc. I made the incorrect assumption that just saying "I'm an artist" would suffice, I was incorrect. My bad, I didn't mean to inadvertently throw any shade.
