I really appreciate the fact that you pronounce Emu correctly! As an Aussie who has wild emus living in the bush not far from my home, I cringe when I hear Americans calling our native bird an ‘e-moo’ and not ‘em-u’.
By far the most adorable thing I have seen in the world I hope that’s your pet, you guys take so much care and give so much love to such an adorable EMU!
I feel really bad. I think it felt worse for the little bird because the guy just held the bird there was his dead sister and brother like that's messed up.....😢😭
Well I never knew I needed an emu until now lol!!! Those are some gorgeous green eggs and that "tiny" baby emu is one of the most adorable things I've ever seen.
You can't get rid of your first emu. He's absolutely so cute. Looks hysterical with those big feet. Get on bidding and get some more eggs. Two, just to make sure. He is just totally adorable especially when he was following the camera. Please keep him. I'd love to see him full size neogociating your house. Take care, good luck and I'll keep on watching. I'm glued.💖💖💖
I live in a small community in Australia, we regularly have emus and roos walk around our neighbourhood (not normal for most places in Aus). Emus always travel in groups and they remember the families who are kind to them and will frequently visit. If you want a pet emu (keep in mind their beaks will reach eye height) then definitely get more eggs. They need company from their own species
Ik I come from a community in Australia (just recently moved) where there were cassowarys coming and going, we saved one in a cyclone it was out the front and we fed it and let it stay in our garage and now it comes back with his chicks and we always pat them and pat him. U always gotta be careful around these animals tho
I think you should keep it and you'll get more eggs and more emus and you'll have more family members, They might make it. R.I.P. emu that didn't make it 😫😭
KIKI DO YOU LU ME ARE YOU RIDING SAY YOU NEVER EVER LEAVE BESIDE ME CAUSE I WANT YA AND I NEED YA CAUSE IM DOWN FOR YA (sorry lol i saw your name and 😂😂)
@@greatbritain6909 I bet you never read the bible just like how the bible states heaven is water that's above earth blocked by a barrier, Just like how it says satan was sent to earth.and religious views vs reality are different but ultimately we are all energy.
I felt better when you said that you will order more eggs as its not recommended for emu to be raised alone. That makes me feel so better You are giving it a good family.
I'm noticing birds can be quite a pricey adventure. 😁 (Still blown away from the flamingo price tag! 😲) Maybe you can work out a deal with who you got the 2 eggs from for more eggs to get a companion for this one. (Rather than try to fight the auctions again)
Birds are extremely expensive. I bought an African grey parrot egg from a pet store 15 years ago for $3000 with no guarantee of it hatching. It was a $3000 crap shoot but I wanted a baby so we would have a better bond. My mom did the same with hers over 30 years ago and their bond is amazing. They live for a very VERY long time so she made sure to bond him with me as well so when she eventually passes away, he will come to me and it won’t be as hard on him. Anyway, my egg did hatch and my baby is 15 years old. It was rough raising him because I had to wake up every 2 hours and spoon feed him to keep his crop nice and full. It was a lot of work and a major expense but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
W T F Wow, that’s a lot of dedication! My in-laws inherited their African Grey from my Father-in-laws Mother. He has to be 40 years old by now, his name is Jocko. That bird imitates so many sounds it’s hilarious! The dog barking, the MIL laughing, the squeak of the blinds opening, not too mention the words & phrases!
That is the cutest bird baby EVER!!!! I'm sorry the one didn't develop, awesome that you got a good healthy one though! Congrats on a successful hatch. You are officially the egg hatching guy.
From the looks of the replies that you received you are going to be getting more emu eggs. I will say that they are cute. Good luck with your new baby and hope that you get more to keep the little one company.
Hand-rearing an emu is something quite special. It creates strong bonds with the owner and the bird. And to have such a big family for the emu is so nice, as it will be cared for by loving people ♡
Came back to watch Bamboos arrival! This was my first video of yours ( at least I think it was!) But anyway, I have enjoyed the last 2+ years so very much! Thank you so much for all the good, wholesome , REAL life stuff ! ❤🏡❤
HOW CUTE! That egg is stunning, and even the chick's newborn fluff is lovely. You can't sell that buddy! He was born on ELi's birthday. It was meant to be. Just get those bidding fingers clicking on another pair! LOL
If you do keep emus, here's some advice. My family kept emus for years before getting rid of them. Have a turkey raise the emus. Emus will put their heads in the water soured and drown themselves, and chickens are small enough to get bullied by emu babies. You need a broody turkey mama to teach the babies how to eat and drink, or they will starve and/or drown. Second, once they are half grown, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, keep them with other species. They will peck them to death. Don't let the kids near them as adults, either, because emus will peck their skulls hard enough to cause significant brain injury, and even death. In fact, anybody who is going into the emu paddock should have a well-fitting horse back riding helmet on when they enter. Thirdly, if your emus ever lay eggs, get them out as soon as you notice them. Emus, unlike other birds who go broody and take care of their eggs, have a very bad habit, as a species, to "play soccer" with their own eggs, aka, kick them around the pen until they break. However their oil, after you kill them and render the fat, is very healing and a great moisturizer. You only need one drop to moisturize your whole face. Good luck!
Being aware of the dangers of keeping animals is par for the course. He probably did pretty heavy research and knows the risks of keeping massive birds like this. Even a rooster can do serious damage to a child. If he was going to get rid of them because of the risks of keeping them he probably wouldn’t have gotten them to begin with.
amechelb yes, but a lot of sites spread heavy misinformation about emus, and then it becomes a lot like the "ostrich puts its head in the ground" myth. Eventually, enough people believe it that the real information gets lost, and is exceedingly difficult to find again.
Types of things I watch before I go to bed and it’s so pure I love it: 1. Egg hatchers 2. Nick fry, a guy who catches fish and crabs and cooks them it’s so relaxing 3. People who rescue pets 4. People who built huts or survive on an island. Seriously go watch these things and you’ll never want to see any famous youtubers again cuz they’re so annoying and these vids are so relaxing. Ur welcome :)
part of the interwebbings it's all a melting pot but every once in a while we find good stuff like all the videos you mentioned in that particular order lol
I love it! Ethan from Weed em and Reap is going to be so jealous. They have a turkey named Emu since they decided against getting an actual emu. Good luck with the little guy/gal. Gosh I love the stripes!
Cathy Steenson I watch them as well. At least they got Emu a mate, Kiwi. Right now they have all the baby goats to take care of. I hope they are able to hatch one of Kiwi's eggs.
.. They can be the most loveable pet you'll ever have, OR the meanest thing on earth when their fully grown. Keep loving it all you can you are it's mother... Have fun. If I could I'd have a lot of them and be a breeder.. I think their the coolest birds God has made to be on this earth... Be blessed.. BBE
E=mc^2 Mass can be changed to energy directly. What I wrote is true and I think I need to add this link also to straighten things up: thepoultrysite.com/articles/investigating-hatchery-practice-monitoring-egg-and-chick-weights
I like how he never tampered (I'm not talking the one that he drill the hole in and then cut open)with the hatching process like most youtubers would. Nice bird.
@@izza.h6005 he tampered with it because it was taking too long yo hatch and when that happens it CRITICAL to check on it if not the hatchling dies due to lack of oxygen and other crucial elements.
@@izza.h6005 OMG it didn't hatch after 55 days, which is long after it should have. He gave it oxygen to see if it would hatch, he waited there was nO movement. It was underdeveloped, about 20 days. It was dead long before.
I use to have two full grown Emus.... Those guys are absolutely mean!! They reached over the fense and bit the neighbor boys shoulder 😂😂 and they loved to peck your toes. Side note THEY WILL SIT ON A JAR OR BOTTLE THINKING ITS AN EGG!! Two male emus sitting on an empty bottle of Crown royal 😂. They refused to eat or move. My grandpa would have to fight them to get the bottle and dispose of it. 😂 But he’d turn around and they’d be sitting on something else a week later. They were Good for keeping foxes and predators away from our chickens though. But wow are they extremely stupid. 😅😅😂😂
_gorillaz freakinc._ You statement applies to domesticated animals. This comment is really ignorant and naïve still though because all animals have their own tendencies. You should do more research. Because when it comes to the nature of BIG birds it’s not the same as a dog or cat. My grandfather purchased them when they were already full grown. He got them to protect our chickens and small animals from predators because he read they were good for that. ( he did do more research other than just that though.) We treated these birds with respect and took care of them. But even so they are NOT cuddly birds. You should seriously look them up and find out what they are REALLY like. This video does not give enough information. They are not “pets” to keep in your home and curl up to watch Netflix with. No these are big bird, slightly smaller then an ostrich, who are known for being naturally aggressive. But ya. By all means. Leave a disrespectful comment about my family and late grandfather being animal abusers. That’s cool. What an ignorant person you are. 🤦🏼♀️ making such a comment with clearly no real information on the bird. A childhood friend also had a pair of emus and they raised them from hatchlings. They took great care of their animals and the birds. Yet they still grew to be aggressive at times just like mine were. Just like a wild animal would. Like a boar or any other animal with such tendencies to be aggressive would. Education yourself before you make yourself look utterly stupid.
I saw that the bird was dead my Heart literally crashed because I love birds and I love hummingbirds The bird that just hatched before the one that died was amazing and it was adorable it was big it was long and it kind a looks like a tiny ostrich but as a bird with a lot more feathers and I was so sad to see that the bird was dead
Hi I hope you keep him!!!! If you read my message you should call him Nova since their scientific name is Dromaius novaehollandiae!!!! Can’t wait to see him grow!
I bought a 7 egg incubator. And 6 eggs off Ebay. It didn't work. I then found branded incubator in UK/world that got good reviews (Brinsea) and then I bought 24 eggs (they're large) and also 6 organic free range eggs from a supermarket. The incubator is made for 30 eggs but I got 29 in, still tight fit. Got 15 days left. Now I'm thinking Emu..and I'll need a bigger incubator!!!
Horse Lover101 Do not push other religious Ideals and beliefs on to others. It was nothing to be offended of. They have not taken the Ten Commandments in vain. They have not even spoke of them even though they might have referred to them.
For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts,For all is vanity. All go to one place, all are from dust and to dust they return.
And btw (idk if u r familiar with the bible or not) when the bible says "all are from dust and to dust they return" that's because god made us from dust
