Why do we offer colored, tinted, and mirrored visors if only clear visors are allowed on the field? What counts as clear anyways? Let's go over what you can wear to play and when you can use colorful visors.

At the start of the season i wore a prizm visor but evey few games certain refs would have me take it off even though you can barely tell so eventually I stoped wearing it and just let one of our LBs wear it and the refs never had a Problem with it They also did not let anyone wear eyeblack unless it was just 2 solid lines

Yeah, that's what I remember too. That's why our team managers didn't want us wearing them. At the Pro level, you wear whatever your sponsor, team or the league allows you.

I live in Missouri and the Shoc prism pink visor i wore my entire sophomore year and no one said anything so i think your point as long as you can see your eyes is valid 👍🏻

I play in the second highest women football league here in germany. tinted visors are just allowed since the start of this season. before that we were just allowed to wear clear ones. I'm wearing the shoc zero g northern lights now because it is definitely a game changer in sunny weather. on cloudy days I wear the oakley pro prizm clear because I still want to protect my eyes with the contact lenses in them

Yeah Georgia is very strict, ref told me to take my tinted visor off during warmups, I have it bc w the sunset and long snapping I can’t see the holder, also looking for ball in the air I can’t see

If you ask me, I agree with him about the visors like how do the rules say "We need to see players eyes in case of concussions" when you can see if a kid or adult is laying out on the ground cold out of common sense. Still at least allow athletes to wear slightly tinted or colored as a way to express themselves in those colors and not make all leagues "No-Fun" like the NFL. Furthermore, like sauce gardener said "If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good." plus it's just drip

because if the player is knocked out cold the doctors still need to check for pupil dilation by shining light into their eyes... which is impossible through a tinted visor.

I remember playing in High School in Florida in the early 2000s I never got a straight answer. We were told not to use them by the Team Management. I think at the time only clear was allowed. Playing in college in NAIA it was not really enforced (I only wore Thigh pads, Shoulder Pads, & Helmet in college & professionally), but the refs wanted to see your eyes like you were saying. Playing at the professional level (AFL), yeah money talks and you know what walks. As long as the league didnt have a rule against it, sponsors wanted you wearing product..

I agree with you cause players wanna look swaged out for their warmups and all that. Tbh I think players should be able to wear whatever visor they want in game cause why not. Look good play good right? It’s also kind of a refs job to be that man or woman to get on the players nerves tbh

That's true! I can understand in games, not being able to see the eyes through a blacked out visor in case of an emergency could be a problem. But in warmups, look good and feel good!

So the diagram on the back of the box basically tells you which visors block out the most sun. Hope this helps you out!

Even before watching this video, those comments are really stupid Tinted visors can be used by collectors just for aesthetics on helmets that will never see the color of a field in their lives, during training sessions and even in games since some leagues allow them I don't even think these people deserve a video to explain anything.

Hey there! Scratches can be difficult to remove if they are deep, but we always try buffing it out first with some visor cleaning spray.

From Ontario, Canada here. Rules are so strict here that a ref made me take my SHOC clear spectrum off, and made my teammate take his Oakley Clear Prizm off. Brutal.

One pet peeve of mine... calling all officials "Referees." That is like calling all football players Quarterbacks. But I digress... As an Umpire I am the final say on all equipment. Trust me, when I say that we hate being fashion police. But, in the modern age of hudl and instant video sharing where our superiors are scrutinizing our every action on the field (and rightfully so in my opinion) if they see a tinted visor, or knee pads not pulled down, or sweat bands less than three inches, or play caller not worn on the wrist... which are all justified in the rules as safety issues... we are going to hear from them.

The lower the number the darker. 20% is limo, 40 lighter and 60 is this the lightest most brands make

As long as they can see your eyes where I’m from they let you play, I know a dude who has a semi-mirrored, iridescent visor that you can just barely see into and he can play with it

My 11 year old was told by a ref to remove his Oakley prizm visor during a game. Yet my 8 year old wore a clear mirror visor and wasn’t told anything 🤦🏽‍♂️ inconsistent all around

I honestly think it’s a bunch of crap cause I’m semi pro we can wear whatever visor we want and I plan on buying more visors from you all I think the tint of a visor adds that type of sick factor to your helmet

I mean to stay safe, literally just buy the clear visors. Or just don’t use one, most of us use visors for fashion instead of protective purposes anyways.
