I am in sales and found myself operating in strife with my coworker over a few customers I felt were mine. God finally got to me and I humbled myself and apologized and I immediately have a peace about it! I had not considered it selfish but you hit the nail on the head. I need to work on this. I grew up around strife and made me very mixed up with their traits.since i was a child i was cursed by people who where verys strifeul

I struggle with the idea that all suicides are selfish. Some people don't know or have a relationship with God. Severe trauma can exceed their level of coping skills. They aren't thinking about ending their life. They just want the pain to stop. They need God. But some never have the opportunity to have that relationship.

This is a great message with great depth and detail. However, I attended a church that believed that anything negative was from God and was ordained by God; they did not acknowledge Satan but freaked out if you mentioned Satan. It was not Humility, it was Pride because they liked to testify of all sorts of stories and crisis that they had endured for Christ. Suicide does appear to be a very selfish act and may be in some cases but it can also be caused by an evil spirit that attacks a person's mind. When a person is suffering severe depression and they can't think straight then the Devil comes with suggestions of suicide. If a person does not know or believe in God then they think it is the answer.

I won't deny I harbor selfishness to some extent but what do I do being married (42) years to an unbeliever who not only does not follow God and His commandments but is extremely self-centered and irresponsible? I have to say my relationship with the Lord has grown through the strife and hurt over the years but there is not much else I can do self-sacrificially without enabling their poor behavior. I am weary and literally given up that God will save them. I have prayed for YEARS for their salvation and nothing has happened. I am at the point of leaving this person. I have appreciated these messages on strife and have taken to heart where I need improvement but sadly the lessons have only made my issue seem more helpless than ever. I covet prayers from anyone reading this comment. God bless!

Thank you for this. I’m trying to determine if the strife in my marriage is because of my husbands alcoholism or if there were deeper roots of strife between us that manifested as alcoholism.
