We're getting ready to go on a trip with our oldest so we went on a hunt for treats for the other children and my mother in law to enjoy while we are away.

There are many of these shop with me frugally channels, and sadly too many of them focus on price first, nutritional value last. Most of what they buy is cheap, yes, but is basic processed food that offers little protein, vitamins, minerals, and practically no nutritional value whatsoever and nothing whatsoever fresh, like vegetables and fruits or fresh meat! You not only supply all of those things to your family, you incorporate vital and delicious things like wheat germ, protein bars, healthy snack options and fresh veggies and fruits!! You do an outstanding job! The quality foods you buy are typically expensive, but you do the legwork and research to provide your family with the best foods at an affordable price! Again...kudos! I love it!! You are frugal, but You clearly weigh in the nutritional value, healthiness of the food ,

@tinydiamond255 thank you for your kind comment! I do try to emphasize health, but we also have plenty of not so healthy things on occasion. I'm always trying to do better!

@@sweetsimplicitymom That's very obvious! If your growing zone was not so dry of late, your garden would really bridge the gap ! When my husband and I had our children, we moved to the country in Pa from a suburb outside of Pittsburgh. We planted several huge organic vegetable gardens, 14 fruit trees, potatoes, garlic grapes, strawberries, you name it! We went to the auction and bought a cow, a pig, many chickens every season and fed them the best foods, had them slaughtered. We grew out own herbs. I learned how to can , dehydrate and freeze just about everything we grew! We had organic milk delivered weekly. Our children were very rarely sick! I attribute their diet and active lifestyle. They grew up eating fresh, healthy food. I was fortunate to be a stay at home Mom, my husband worked very hard , as did I to provide the best we could. That's why I know how hard you and he must work to provide for 8! We only had 3 , and we did not homeschool! We did live 14 miles from their school. They were first on the bus in the morning and last to be dropped off! It could be difficult at times, I can't imagine homeschooling 8, and having a social media presence! When do you sleep? Lol My husband and I are now in our mid 50's , kids all grown, we have grandkids,my husband retired last year , it's a new phase in our life, we've been married for 37 years! I have such wonderful memories of raising our family, you will too, but most of all your kids will! You are making memories , wonderful memories as a foundation for them!! Amazing!!!

@@sweetsimplicitymom Oh really?!?!? We lived about 15 min outside of Pittsburgh, in Allegheny County originally ,and when our kids were 2 and 3 years old (we had 3yr old twins, and baby was 2) we moved to Beaver County!
