Architect Alex Oliver highlights the features one would expect on a Georgian-style property and discusses the subtle nuances that really make a difference when it comes to a successful design
I actually disagree because the Georgian houses are beautiful but then if people who already own one, like myself, would find that the original style and history to these houses would be lost because people would be building new ‘fake’ versions. And the history to these houses is great so this should not be lost nor given up on the charm to these pearls.
AMSR Aesthetics Architecture tend to repeat itself over time like the greek architecture and greek revival that we see now,l. If there was a georgian revival it would definately be a bit different from the original and historians would definitely able to differentiate the original from the newer ones
Well, you conviced me, that the Georgian style is the most simple, logical and efficiant european styled architecture. It should become a universal paradigm for architecture like it is in America.
The most sense talked in three and a half minutes on this subject in a very long time. Comparing the Golden Ratio to a musical harmony is very descriptive.
I love Georgian homes! Georgians are traditional and timeless. It doesn't matter what year it is, these homes always look so distinctive and elegant. You could see a Georgian home that was constructed centuries ago. It still looks as good as it did on the day construction was complete. It's on my list of top ten homes to recommend to clients.
I'd give ANYTHING to live in a house like that, I absolutely love them!! ❤️ Unfortunately, money is of course the very deciding factor in which I will have to just keep on dreaming... 🙄😌❤️
the people who worked seven days a week in these buildings, slept up the top of the house, got up very early, and went to bed very late., carting buckets of coal etc up the stairs, looking after the owners for peanuts, till they died.the people with the money only thought of their selves.
@@HomebuildingMagazine it's good you guys do math. But I still like your videos. Very "colorful" commentary. Hey not everybody needs to know what they're talking about. Cheers
It’s neoclassical style,- that means it has been copied from Doric continental style with some baroque details, there are plenty of them all over the world , much better to create good quality contemporary houses, and restore neoclassical architecture up to modern standards, as they are very inconvenient for living(drafts, high maintenance and etc ..)It’s enough for history purposes!!
