I heard Jordan Peterson voice an idea something like, if marriage is really for life, you’re going to have to behave and cooperate differently than if it wasn’t, so get to work. If everyday we behave, treat, and cooperate with our spouse as if it could end, it seems more likely it will end than if we behave, treat, and cooperate with our spouse as if it will never end.
