You missed the part where the indigenous, after being defeated, were FORCED to adopt the language and customs. They didn't "want" to do this but most were forced to do it.
Brenal Diaz, a soldier with Cortes in 1521 wrote an entire book called The history of the conquest of New Spain. In the book he mentions that when meeting with the Aztec chief Tendile, Tendile asked for a helmet from one of the soldiers to take back to Montezuma because it was like one that they possessed and was left to them by their ancestor gods and placed on the head of the god Huichilobos (god of war). Easy to believe why they thought the conquistador were gods.

What is crazy is that we speak Spanish today because of the Spaniards I am Puerto Rican and my .. .. ancestors we're slave to the Spaniards why is it that we only talk about the African Americans being slaves but nobody brings up the facts that the first slaves were actually white people every race of people were slaves at one point of time I wish I had a time machine to go back to the times of the Aztecs I would have made War against the Spaniards they would have been attacked as soon as they landed on our Shores they would have been our slaves....
That was an awful video. Shame on you professor. The Spanish fought with another native tribe to a draw before becoming allies with them......you believe the Aztecs believed foreigners that couldn't defeat other native tribes were gods? Professor the inaccurate history you tell to people is very damaging.
Not sure what authority, knowledge or experience you have on the subject to refer to this professor and expert on the subject in such a disrespectful way but I think you should go home, read, inform yourself and stop being so hateful. Reggae man ;)

@@si4632 nah bro, it's not even about noble savages it is just common sense, the aztecs had heard about the spanish fighting and allying with neighboring tribes, they where attacked by the tlaxcalteca and lost men in the process and ended up allying with them, would gods die? Would gods be forming alliances on an equal footing? I'm just trying to point out how little sense this theory makes.
