It's really convenient how there just happens to be relic weapons like Riven's broken sword, like Irelia's blades, like Vayne's small and big crossbows, and also like Grave's shotgun.
Well in Irelia's Case she "forges" her weapons with light stone or how it's called, by herself. It's clearly shown in her recall animation with her Sentinel Skin. Also I don't see why Riven couldn't just have put aside her balde for NOW, and picked up a new one that's effective against the black mist. Then once everything is finished, she just takes her old one with her again. Or the fact that Irelia's new blades could simply be "covered" in light stone, and at the core her blades are what she controls. It's not hard to imagine, but they could have explained it better.
If Viego was stuck in Thresh's lantern, it would explain sooo much. Thresh collects souls that he can torture, and the ruined king fits that bill- Thresh was there when that whole thing went down. Part of his madness, him not showing up until after Senna was freed, even calling Thresh a betrayer makes sense- as he was Thresh's first victim.

Honestly, it's such a missed opportunity that Riven had to pick up the Sentinel Weapon because the Black Rose got a hold of her Rune Blade. And after the whole Ruined King thing is over she travels back to Noxus to retrieve her blade. Would be an awesome moment for a collaboration between Rell and Riven as well. After all, both are Noxian who are considered traitors or rebels.

Shen and Zed are probably too busy following Jhin, not noticing that the entire world is enveloped in black mist. Master Yi is probably meditating and is so immersed in his meditation that he doesn't notice the world-ending event either. And Wukong probably became ruined, making the Underworld Wukong skin cannon. Idk, I'm mostly joking, obviously, but the wukong theory could have some truth to it.
You can ask that in every region, also is really weird that Diana, Irelia and Riven didn't refused to change weapons like they don't care, Even Poppy could have been a good Sentinel

In the comic you don't see any signs of ruination so I imagine this event happens after the comic. Again, I read it a while ago so I don't remember all the details. But it would be really fun to find out what every champion was doing during the ruination. Syndra watching the world burn, Kled yelling at the ghouls to get off his property, Vel'koz studying the black mist etc...
Why is the Sylas' doll blonde? Also, i don't think Riven got rid of her blade, i think she just put it aside for a moment and grabbed this new one because it would be more effective against the Black Mist
I thought the same thing, I'm not convinced it even is Sylas. And I don't understand what's confusing about Riven potentially leaving her blade back at the Sentinel base, to retrieve after she no longer needs the Sentinel weapon. I don't think this is as out-of-character as people are making it out to be, I just think Riot's mistake is that they failed to explain/mention anything about what happened to people's previous weapons.

For all of you that liked more the event comic more than the visual novel (just like me) apparently the comic is just for those that play wild rift and don't know anything about the event in pc, the canon one is, again apparently, the visual novel (so yes, not only the rookie is canon, but also the fact that Pyke gets recruited with the power of pity and Rengar is a bigger Yuumi)
The explanation of why the Sword was still there *could* be that the mist Hit before the Black Rose could Grab the Sword. Also I think Riven's skin could have been so much better If she's Had her old Blade simply strapped to her back
You know , I would have love to see Samira instead of Riven representing Noxus , not only Samira fought when Darius was losing control against the black mist , but if Samira could be at the edge of death , she would probably not think twice of joining the sentinels , not because of protecting the world , but because she is all about being stylish in the thrill of battle
Everyone saying Riven tossed her blade aside... I mean, the most obvious answer is the same with Vayne's weapons: They are useless against the undead, so the simply left them stored in the Sentinel Base and use the relic weapons for now xD Once everything is done, they'll surely have to return the relic weapons and be back to their lives with her original weaponry XD
@@laksi1970 I don't think it's about power. Diana's moonblade (assuming she has it when you meet her) is also useless against the undead and that thing is easily more powerful than Riven's blade. I believe this is a matter of the Relic Weapons having a "something" that makes them the only thing capable of ending wraiths. Not more powerful, just the right thing for the job.
@@RodrigoLeaf15 That about the Moonblade is bs (And targon in general as well), not only sentinel items can hurt the mist, divine items also can. That being said, Riven's blade may be powerful, but it's like TLOZ where only divine weapons could deal the finishing blow to the enemy... That being said, Diana doesn't have right now her moonblade, Aphelios does and none of them knows where is eachother because of the Solari. So in her case that blade would be a respectable substitute, because it would be much better than nothing.
I wish Riot would release a brief summary of what each champion is doing during the Ruination. Like, I wonder what champs like Swain, Leblanc, Lissandra, Syndra, Sylas, etc are doing. What about void creatures like Vel'koz, khazix and demons like Evelynn, Tahm Kench.
6:57 Olaf and Gwen aren't in the comics because Sentinel Olaf and Gwen herself isn't in Wild Rift. The comics were actually a way for mobile players to also know what's happening in the main storyline.
About the mage seeker Sylas, I believe that the act of what Sylas did breaking out the mages and seeing hope in people with magic inspired other mages that kept quiet about their powers. Similar to Lux. To some Sylas is a villain to others, a Hero.
Very likely and a perfect explanation for a Sylas puppet. However, it's no reason why there would be Sylas puppet made to look like a Mage Seeker (half mask and such). After all, the mage seekers are the nemesis of the mages and are trying to find, imprison and "cure" them.
@OHGAS In that case this would be the first Mage Seeker ever to wear such kind of clothing. Not saying it is impossible though. But wouldn't it also be strange for them to wear accessoires that strongly ressemble the cuffs they put on their prisoners?
Another reason why Vayne doesn't have any sentinel weapons is that, because there's no Rookie the have to go everywhere on foot, and Noxus is ''close'' to Demacia, so they went there directly instead of going back to the sentinel hideout first

in the comic and cinematic senna is the optimist one and lucian the pesimist while in the visual novel is reversed, senna is always angry/sad and lucian invites everyone he wants to join the party as a sentinel.
It's a toy shop in demacia, they probably brainwsh kids into their anti-magic ideology through the use of toys. sylas is probably like the villain toy, like Megatron from transformers.
There are two different stories since in the comic one there is no Rookie and no teleportation gun, but the Ending might be the same. There is one in wich there are only sentinels, and one where Rookie joins too, but probably the same ending.
The noxus part had me mad confused, as where was swain?, Leblanc and Vladimir? They just let the mist take over the city? Like swain knows all and he is just absent?
The event is called Sentinels of Light. Not Global Ruination. The story is focused on the sentinels so there’s no reason to show what other characters are doing. Even the important one

I think somewhere in the novel it was mentioned riven left her blade in the weapons chamber of the sentinels and switched to something that can actually Kill the wraiths. And I mean - deeply bounded past or not: when you fight for your life, you dont want to fight with a dull weapon nor carry it with you right? Especially in a scenario like the world-wide harrowing riven might just go for the more rational one (since her blade is kinda safe in the sentinal base as well) These are the thoughts I had when I read/played the story.
Keep this in mind Necrit that the comics are Wild Rift’s primary source of the story besides the dialogue for the missions (which seem even more in character than league, from my perspective). WR doesn’t have everyone in this event. Pyke, Karma, Gwen, anyone from the Shadow Isles. We even got a dev post saying Viego ain’t coming soon due to how complicated he is. This feels like we’ll have a part 2 cause WR still have other characters that haven’t gotten skins yet: Olaf, Graves, Rengar, Diana, Pantheon. Maybe to help tie in Vex’s future release, or Pyke’s, or any other character related to this event. Something to keep in mind.
Here is something I've been thinking about: the black rose goal is (as far as we know) to find a way to defeat mordekaiser when he comes back, right? Well THEN the first idea that came to my mind when it was revealed that they were looking for riven's sword was "well must be beacause it can harm mordekaiser" similar to the reason they trained rell. Well since morde is made of this ghost energy/black mist/whatever the shadow isles champs and monsters are made of then that would be no longer the case. Or the runic blade can't harm the black mist/ghosts and the black rose just wants it bc is a powerful weapon, or then it makes no sense it cant harm them. Sorry if it was a little confusing i hope the point i was trying to make was at least a little bit clear hahaha
@@oicmorez4129 hopefully he won't be just another comic relief or just some side character which guides the sentinels to Viego for perhaps a chapter at best and then he never gets mentioned again.
Khartus too, Viego says to him "Sing Khartus Sing, of all that must be lost and She must be found" So he is at least important in some way yet we don't see him.

I like to think that all of the sentinel from the event were recruted but not how its shown. What i think happend is: Olaf reconised Lucian, Diana was recruted in Ionia, Illaoi used her magic on Pyke (maybe the reason why he is dumb in the event), Graves joined so he can get back to Bilgewater and Rengar joined for weapons that can kill the wreights.
There might be stuff in the Sentinal Armory where the materials that makes the Relic Weopens can form itself around pre existing weapons or enhance. Like it still may be Riven's Sword and Irelias blades but it has the relic incasing around it.
after finishing the story from the event i have several questions 1) what happened to viega after isolde's soul was quenched 2) what happened to vex after viego was defeated , does she go back to sprinkly yordle land or does she just roam arround freely around runeterra ? Since we know that ghost cannot summon a portal unless its infused with doeseq of the black mist 3) what really happened to ada and dess after the ruination finished ? 4) how in gods name did thresh was able to absorb ennough black mist to becomz the ruined king 2.0 5) now that isolde is officially gone, is there the possibility for her to become a champion if akshan gets involved ? 6) mf kept talking abour gangplank 24/7 does that mean we will have a short story of how they met even though he was declared dead 7) how on earth are they going to tackle the story of thresh 8) if they defeat thresh will the blesses eyeles become once more ? 9) will riven and irelia get along for god knows how long ? 10) can i have a cookie?
I still don't feel the inclusion of Vayne in the sentinels. From how she was portrayed in previous storys, she'd rather die fighting alone than to let other magical creatures like Senna and Gwen live, let alone work together with them. Ofc is is possible to have a change of heart, but the last time we heard from her she killed her foster mother after being saved only due to the latter ones magical abilities. On the other hand champions like Yorick or Maokai are completely absent for now, even though they are directly connected to the ruined king and would certainly help the sentinels. Lucian, Senna, Gwen, Akshan, Yorick and Maokai would have been a pretty good lineup imo, maybe throw in Taric and Ezreal if you need more characters. Sure these are not the most popular champs (besides Ezreal), but that would have been the perfect opportunity to change that (at least a little bit).
but that just makes it so confusing. the fact that each game (and comic) has their own "canon" version of the story only makes it confusing and messy, atleast that is how I see it
If she fights with her own blade, why does she even need to become a sentinel? The same weapon issues could be asked about Irelia and Diana, their weapons are either irreplaceable (irelia's Xan Crest), or realistically stronger (celestiel blade) than the sentinel weapoms.

Sorry if someone else already mentioned that in comments, but Olaf and other champions are missing in comic as comic is primarily meant for Wild Rift players and they didn't want to confuse players with champions that are not in the game yet.
The reason why on the comics only Vayne, Riven and Irelia appear is because the comics are intended to be content for Wild Rift, and in the Ruination event from Wild Rift you can only interact with those characters and Lucian and Senna. Although in that event the rookie also exists, so it's really strange he's missing if that's the case
Mid-Video Comment: Draven's holding onto the Blade in the music video "Awakened" as well. Maybe because it's her main weapon/her well known weapon she was allowed to keep it at the arena for usage like he said so it makes sense. Also because Rito was lazy?
If Akshun kills Isolde after shes been put back together, then Viego comes back. After, Akshun just needs to kill the assassin to bring the human Isolde back.
That doll isn't necessarily Sylas. Could be any of the mage-seeker's mage 'colleagues.' Sylas probably isn't the only mage who was made to wear the neck brace and hand cuffs.
Hey @Necrit, I don't know if it's the case in english, but in the french version of the in-game visual novel, In Freljord, Olaf don't talk at the 3rd person anymore, and Lucian has a few dialogues with him, so either the french version is completely different, or they changed slightly the story to adress the issues you pointed in your last video. EDIT : I did noxus first, don't know if it changes that much. Also, as I was going through the freljord story, Olaf mentionned himself in third person a few times. Just to be more exact.
Olaf kinda makes sense because he already fought alongside Lucian, just don't make him a comedic relif, and is sad that Gwen isn't there because she's best girl. I want to see what they do with Akshan, being honest he is just Viego but in the good side, killing for revenge and trying to bring back a loved one from the dead, one ruination of difference of course
I think the initial set of sentinels will attempt to attack Viego and fail. They will be overwhelmed by Viego’s forces and Gwen will save them. With Gwen in their team, this will give them another idea or way of defeating him. This will also provide the opportunity for the rest of the sentinels to be recruited.
It can be possible that riot pushes Shaco's lore when we see dolls in comic Steadfast Hearts. Probably shaco transform many champions in demarcia into dolls since he was in demarcia last time.
Riot always made a distinction between game and lore, but they muddled it a bit when making these kinds of events. The comics and stories in universe should be the only sources of canon lore, but I'd like them to make it clear instead of being so ambiguous. That's why they stated that stuff from Legends of Runeterra is canon despite some things not being consistent or lining perfectly. We might have to expect another kind of soft reboot of the story for when the MMO releases, where I HOPE they would've cleaned up their shit. It feels quite tiring to have such inconsistencies because it undermines our investment. Specially yours, since you're so diligent with the lore. Thank you for your efforts, loremaster.
I think it is because of Wild Rift skins, as Gwen, Olaf Skin(only), Pyke and its skin, Graves Skin (only), Rengar Skin(only) and Diana Skin(only) are not included in wild rift.
I think the comic ended up that way because it ended up on wild rift and since Gwen and pyke aren’t in wild rift only vayne, irelia and riven actually received their sentinel skins while the others didn’t so that’s probably why
To be honest I agree about rivens blade That could be how they explain her going over to the sentinel blade blade. I feel like they could have also made it that it's mordekaiser sword & the black rose gets ambushed by him in the mist. I remember him making a video about him using the mist every once in a while.
Thoughts on Sentinel Pyke: I really think he in particular could fit in with the Sentinels, IF they wrote him differently. Before I finished Bilgewater I had the theory that Pyke became more... 'agreeable' because of some magic tied to Illaoi. Sentinel Graves even has a line towards him mentioning it. I thought that perhaps the force that resurrected Pyke, in the beginning, was Nagakaborous and Pyke's rampant murders were just people who Nagakaborous deems 'unworthy' (in her eyes, they are unmoving and not progressing in life - your average 9-5 retail guy for example). So from our perspective, since they are strangers to us, we just think he's killing at random but in reality, Nagakaborous is using Pyke to do her bidding. What would've been cool is to have Illaoi show Pyke that he's exacting the will of Nagakaborous and through that, he becomes more normal and less insane. Then, by the time Viego invades Bilgewater, he realizes that Viego is unworthy to Nagakaborous and thus, he has to kill him. Thus, he joins the Sentinels. But no, he's just an insane stowaway with a cool dagger that can kill wraithes.
I really don't like that Riot has two very different versions of the story and says "oh they're both canon...just one more so than the other." What? That doesn't make sense. And I really don't like how it just gives the audience the ability to be like "oh I like this version more so that's canon to me, not the other one" instead of just one accurate story that people can judge itself. I don't know, I'd rather have Riot be like "this is how things played out, either like or don't" instead of "here's multiple different ways the story played out, whichever one you like the best is canon"

What if they didn't jist change weapons but instead they just modified their weapons with sentinel weapons or something like that? Like they're still irelia's blades they have just been infused with sentinel juice or something same with vayne who also just used arrows from the sentinel base. As for riven all I can think of is they somehow reforged her blade with sentinel juice
I think the reason why they didn't put olaf because in Wild Rift they only release 3 sentinel of light skin which is Vayne Irelia and Riven. TBH I was hoping they will release Rengar Diana Graves and Olaf's sentinel of light skin in Wild Rift and the reason why Gwen is not in the comics coz Gwen is not yet released in Wild Rift so they did a lot of adjustment to this comic.
I actually like Vayne, Riven, Olaf as the side characters, they make sense why they would be enlisted, as long as they explain rivens weapon. Graves could have been so easy to write and Riot basically already has a way to make it happen. Graves is always helping Twisted Fate out of problems, so.. just make the Underworld Twisted Fate his "Ruined" skin, and have Graves's reason to join the Sentinels that he "needs" to save TF again.
The problem with the comic is it’s made for wild rift so it only uses characters that got sentinel skins in that game. The only sentinels they got were vayne, riven, and irelia. Gwen’s not in WR either so that’s probably why she’s not there in any capacity
The Black rose most likely wanted to let the heat die down after the agent they sent in that trilogy failed and then of course it was reported and Swain decided to add more security around it within the Armory, then the mist showed up.
