Hey umm i don't need practice tests, or practice problems, but i need good book(s) for building up theory skills/grammar skills; all the the basic skills required to ace the SAT English section.
Hey! I will push back a bit and say you will need practice problems eventually to practice the skills. But I recommend the Critical Reader or College Panda grammar books for concepts.
Sorry for such comment! I am giving SAT exam for the first time, I'm not from America and I don't even know the syllabus of SAT properly, I don't even have any tutor, Well I am good at studies and I am preparing from Khan Academy, but I don't know how to use it properly. Please tell me such a book which has the complete syllabus of Maths and English and also has solutions and test paper.
would you suggest buying a book focused on questions rather than the ones that focus on explaining how the sat works? for instance "800+ SAT Practice Questions, 2025" from the Princeton Review
This is a fantastic question, thank you for asking! My personal suggestion is for the books that focus on questions because I think there is a lot of great free content out there of the structure of the test. BUT if you are not the type of person to seek out those resources or you just want to have everything in one place, then go general. There is truly no better way, but there is the way that’s better for you. Hope this helps!
I have an updated video with those tips on my channel. But if you’re looking for content tips, it’s on my list for a future video. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Absolutely! The Panda book assumes basic knowledge of math concepts, so it will be a better resource for someone scoring 650ish. PWN is better for people who need foundations, and I would transition to Panda after PWN is mastered because Panda has better questions. Hope this helps!
The College Panda and Critical Reader series are good for question patterns. But if you’re looking solely for shortcuts and tricks, that is not my personal area of expertise. Maybe someone else might see this comment and have a better suggestion!
I'm thinking of getting the college panda math 2nd edition, erica meltzer R&W and Princeton review, But do i need the R&W book if I'm good with grammar? And do i go for Princeton Review 2025 or 2024?
Erica Meltzer has separate books for grammar and reading, so you should get the book relevant to you. For the PR, look at the comments about the book for what users are saying. I think combining the 2024 with the College Board practice test is fine.
Okay. There are 2 princeton review books, and one is the newly released 2025 version. It has lower reviews though. Should I purchase this, or the 2024 mentioned in the video?
@@ShreeyaShah-0113 I haven't bought the 2025 version, so I cannot give you advice on that. However, the negative reviews do seem to say that the questions are similar to the 2024 version, so if it were me, I would go with the 2024 version.
Great question! Right now, I would only recommend The Complete Guide to SAT Reading and The Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar for the Digital SAT. Both are under the Critical Reader series, so just triple check you are getting the digital SAT version. I would not recommend the vocab books, as it’s better to build vocab naturally by reading news or journal articles.
Can you please tell me the differences between "The Princeton Review Digital SAT Premium Prep" and "The College Panda SAT Math" + "The College Panda SAT Writing"
There is nothing you are supposed to do. Figure out what your needs are and work from there. For example, if you are strong at grammar, there is no reason for you to buy a grammar book.
Great question! Since all the books are copyrighted, I don’t want to post links or name to anyone gracious enough to offer the material for free. My advice is to check discussion sites like Reddit because the community tends to come through!
I'm having some problems with the subject math. And I'm studying digital sat on my own. İ want to score at least a 1450. Now I'm using "Acing the new sat math" book but i feel like it's not enough. Are there books that someone can recommend me both for math and the r&w section of the digital sat. İ'd be so happy if someone helps me. Thanks in advance
Hi, I would recommend the books I mentioned here in this video. The College Panda for math and Erica Meltzer’s series for reading/grammar. I haven’t come across any books yet that are solid in both.
Hi! I do have a video here for general r&w tips --> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hirUb2nbCD8.html I am working on a video series for reading and grammar and have a few of those videos up as well.
Hi I have a bunch of SAT prep books for the paper version of the SAT since my friend took it last year so what sections in the DSAT should I use these books in? should I use it for all the sections or just the math?
This is a fantastic question! I would use it for both math and writing, but for the math, use a calculator for everything. If you’re scoring high on reading, ignore the reading comprehension sections. If you need foundational work, reading the long passages can help with vocabulary and building general comprehension. Hope this helps!
I would highly recommend the critical reader because you’re scoring extremely well or RU-vid strategy videos. It’s very likely if you’re 700 flat one type of question is one you’re constantly getting wrong because 700 shows that you have no problem with comprehension. If you’re making more errors in grammar get the grammar version because it’s likely you need rules!
Hi! what would you recommend on buying if I would like to study for the DSAT in one whole book and not have to buy two to three books for R&W and Math? I am travelling so I want to make my studies efficient and compact.
Great question and glad you’re using part of your travel time to prep this summer. If you’re looking for a general book, go with the Princeton Review so you can have everything online. However if you need specific help on a section and feel that RU-vid/Google/internet cannot cover it, only then would I say it’s worth to carry it. Hope this helps!
@@TheContemporaryClassroom thank you for your response! To be honest I’m sort of nervous about the Princeton Review book because of the reviews on Amazon complaining that some of the full lengths test aren’t actually full length?? I also checked Amazon and apparently they published another one recently called Princeton Review DSAT Premium Prep 2025, do you think this one is better than the 2024 one? I’m in a hurry so your response will be appreciated 😭
I have a copy of the 2024 book, and I had access to all the full length tests online. But yes, go with the 2025 version because that one probably has updates based on the March 2024 SAT!
That was for the SAT subject tests, which they no longer do anymore. However, there are two different math modules for the second section, and you will get the more difficult one if you performed better on the first section.
To get online access, you need to purchase the book or share a login with someone. If you’re just looking for a book download, see if anything is available on Google.
Any math specific content book. My recs are the college panda for advanced math prep and PWN for more fundamental prep. But, if you’re just looking for problems, any math-specific book.
I’m not sure what you’re asking because in this video I didn’t recommend the College Board book. However, the college board book is for the digital sat, so it’s not irrelevant, it’s just not worth it, in my opinion.
It'd be of great help, if you could help me develop foundational sat English skills. If you are okay with my request I could explain more on email. If you are currently very busy I would be glad to get a recommendation from you. Thank you!
Hi! You don’t need to email me. The answer is that you need to read as much as you can. Unfortunately, this is not something you can accomplish in a few weeks, so be patient and keep working. If articles are challenging, use AI to take down the reading level to practice. Feel free to email me but I’m going to give you this exact advice.
@@linaelmousslih835 I recommend getting the ones that align to what you need. Look at your score breakdown. If you need to improve in both reading comprehension and grammar, you need both books. If you feel like you need more guidance when studying vocab, then you should get to vocab book as well. I appreciate you being open with your score. My highest recommendation is for you to read as much as you can. Without a strong foundation, you will not be able to place into the "hard" 2nd module, so your score will never be able to exceed the 550 range.
@@TheContemporaryClassroom thank you for the advice. Lastly, how exactly will I improve my vocab knowledge when reading? What strategies should I use to memorize these words? Do I just look up words I’m not familiar with and that’s all?
thankusmm!!! i have a tiny q , the college panda sat math ''for the new sat'' this edition is for paper sat can i still get a high score in math from studying this book for the digital sat??
What is the difference between digital SAT book and paper pencil SAT book?? Can I cover my SAT preparation or digital SAT preparation completely with these books at the same time???
Great question! The test format changed drastically, especially on the reading section, so I would aim to use digital books if you can. If you only have access to the older books, use the reading section for vocab exposure, but don’t do the questions. Writing and math are more comparable. Then, get your reading practice from Bluebook’s free tests.
