It makes so much more sense as to why sleeping at floor level is much cooler.

Thanks for the tip. So many vidoes just say clockwise or counter.

Cool! Er I mean warm. I'm going to file this away under things I knew because my dad told me, but I forgot until Eddie Field told me again!

So, my room gets hot 🔥 in the winter and I want it blowing down. My room gets the coldest in summer, so I want it blowing up. I'm the opposite of normal....but I was up cleaning my fans and got curious and wanted to be sure it was working the way I intended and it was 😂😂😂

Why not tell us which way the air is directed according to the blade pitch and the clockwise or counterclockwise rotation direction? What you suggest means ascending and descending the ladder multiple times.

Oh, so like, “If you’re blade is pitched like mine it should run counterclockwise during the winter and clockwise during the summer.”? Great idea! Thank you and thanks so much for watching!

@@FieldGuidetoDIY I was thinking the same thing, but more along the line of..."Stick your right arm straight out in front of you as if it were a fan blade and your shoulder were the outer most edge. Now, when looking at the blade head on from the outer most edge, if the right edge of your blade (pinky finger side of your hand) is pitched downward then clockwise spin would push air down and counterclockwise would pull air up. If that Right edge (still pinky finger edge of your hand) is pitched up, then clockwise spin would pull air up and counterclockwise would push air down". In my description I used a visualizing descriptor of the arm/hand example to explain the direction of pitch of the fan blade, but since you're working with a camera you could just face the camera toward the outermost edge and explain the direction of the pitch of the blade from there. (In the case of this video, the right edge of your fan blade is facing down).

I’ve been using ceiling fans in our living room with vaulted ceilings all winter and recently noticed that upon turning them on the temperature drops 1 to 2 degrees. I think with this room being surrounded by large windows it’s actually causing the warm room air to run across the cold windows and is leading to rapid heat loss via convection. Fans will stay off from now on.

Tj, sounds like a real possibility. Thanks for sharing.

I just pushed my ceiling fan switch down so that it can rotate counter clockwise. I hope this works cuz I don't want to run my heat.

I hope that works. We’re experiencing some crazy cold temps this week.
