Timing of this video was perfect. Ive had my beardie for 3 weeks now and give him calcium every day because i thought it would make him stronger and help him find the crickets easier since they blend in with the substrate. I will cut back on doing that now thanks for all the great info
This was VERY helpful! My son wants a bearded dragon lizard and It's been about 20 years since I had a bearded dragon lizard. And my poor beardie didn't have any of this growing up. These beardies are going to have such a better quality of life now. Thank you!
Repent now and trust Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior please🥰 John 3:13 for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life!😇❤❗
Thanks for the video! I'm getting my son a bearded dragon soon. I'm nervous about keeping the insects - how do you ensure they don't escape into the rest of the house?
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse appreciate it, I’ve learned so much from you and really have learned a lot from you. Trying to sage up to buy my uvb bold and lamp now
So I just got my first bearded dragon and he refuses to eat any kind of vegetables even frozen and someone told me that you could put be bee pollen and they should start eating vegetables is it safe to feed to do the dragons sorry my typing is very bad
I’m doing as much research as possible, planning next month to get a bearded dragon, but I know nothing about the care, and I’m not getting a pet unless I know what they need to stay healthy, and be loved and be in a safe place. So I’m binging care videos, articles, making a list of to dos and not to dos.
Thank you so much! I really needed this because I am about to get a baby beardie and I was afraid of anything happening to it. Thanks to this I as a beginner now know what is good for him.
For any Canadians watching, Super Cricket Farms sells a variety of worms and ships country wide. For 25 live silk worms, they came out to under a $1 each. Shipping is more expensive but that's because it's alive bugs, and if you have your account set up to automatically place your usual order, you can get a discount on shipping and sometimes insects, etc.
Hi chief I had 2 questins Q1: There are no reptile stores available in india so i cant buy repti calcium or vitamins so can i propelerly gut load my insects for many days and then feed it to my adult calotes ( lizard species native to india) Q2: Can i use repti calcium with d3 and also provide uvb and but reduce the calcium d3 from one or twice a week to two times a month so that he doesnt overdose calcium ? I love wathing your videos Love from india ❤️
Hi chief Could u please make a video on how to care for a calotes versiclor (lizard species native to India ) I have a pet calotes versiclor and know nothing about him becuz there is not much information available on the internet about calotes care And how many mealworms should I feed my adult calotes whenever I feed it ? And also like bearded dragon should I feed it every week or 2 times a week ?
I have a two year old beardie and I can only manage to feed him worms, some woodies and i try and sneak some blueberries in but he never eats his veggies. can anyone give tips please?
My bearded dragon is thriving because of your helpful, RU-vid videos. I am in love with my Lizzie and you have the best instructions for me. Thank you so much!
I appreciate all this info very much. Had a leopard gecko that lived for 26 years that passed away earlier this year. I had been saying for at least 15 years that I would get a bearded dragon when she passed. I don't know how she lived that long, but she did get all of my care all of those years. Now I'm trying to give my omnivorous new friend the best care I can give. And honestly I only am commenting because I'm interested in the shirt you're wearing because it's hard for me to make out the letters of metal band logos. And it looks awesome, and I want one.
Ive been seeimg a chart floatimg around in facebook bearded dragon groups that say to only feed 5 to 6 bugs once a day for beardies that weight 30 grams or less. So for babies and juvies. Is that correct? This info is coning from a vet apparently.
Yes that is from the beardie vet that info came out after this video and I have a more up to date feeding guide that uses that info. You can offer that amount but you can also feed 5-15 bugs depending what they are don’t have to limit it just to 5.
Just got mine and since the room was hot I turned of the heat lamps to sleep, but SOMEONE turn the ac on it was out in the cold for 3 hours, it’s alive but is she okay???? Please help
Great compacted info!!!!! I needed this. I’m always fretting if he changes his eating habits. I learned soooooooo much from this video. U always have the best advice 👌
I have a for 4 year old bearded dragon and he doesn’t want to est anything but insects. Whenever I gave him plants, he just doesn’t eat. Can someone helps me?
I've ordered crickets off amazon multiple times. Idk what happens in shipping but the last 2 times ive ordered crickets from them they've arrived late and dead. I recommend ordering either 2 day shipping or directly ordering from the seller
The bearded dragon eats wild insects in the wild no pesticides are around my property and the horned green tomatoes worm I feed them all I have organic natural growth 😊
I have kept Leopard Geckos and snakes in the past but I am crash course learning since I am about to foster my sisters Beardies for a while I had been looking into getting either a bearded dragon or a leopard but that was a slower plan, so thank you for making this video
I recently bought one because the lady at the pet store told me they were low maintenance and other than salad only needed 3-4 crickets a day 😂 luckily i never believe anything im told and only bought him because i fell in love with his personality and did my own research. He gets two fresh salads a day with about 15-20 dubia roaches/crickets plus an occasional treat of superworms.
No worries looking at it now I feel like it’s extremely confusing haha gotta reupdate this sometime. So I would say you can offer vegetables every day for adults make sure it’s about the size of there stomach so not a lot but enough to maybe fit half of there torso. Then feed then 3 insects twice a week. Babies can feed daily 5-8 insects and just offer vegetables daily they probably won’t eat it but just good to offer
We just bought a new baby bearded dragon and he hasn't ate in a few days. I've tried mealworms, crickets, hornworms, and silk worms. I also tried kale, lettuce, and cucumbers. He just wont eat anything. any help is appreciated!
@@brinleygarcia1112 yes he did. Took him a bit to get used to his new enclosure. He’s eating like a champ. Kale, mustard greens, cucumbers, crickets and super worms.
Hi I’ve had my baby bearded dragon for a day now and he/she haven’t ate anything yet that i know of if I tried to give it crickets and meal worms. Anytips so he can eat
On subject of water, my ex has a Crested Gecko, and they drink by licking the moisture off leaves. Today we misted my beardie, and he did the same thing with the basking rock. So they may not drink from a bowl, but will lick surfaces that you mist.
How common is it to have a baby bearded dragon who’s always eats his salad cause I read that people have trouble feeding their baby beardies vegetables and mine just eats out of my hand by the 3rd day
Make sure he’s hydrated drip water on his nose to help him drink better. Also offer romaine lettuce since it’s mostly water and make sure temps are good.
I’m only 13 but I’ve decided I want to get a bearded dragon when I’m older. I’m just learning beforehand to figure out the good channels 😅. Also I know you are not the expert on this, but I also plan to keep a dog (either Lhasa apso or golden retriever) so do you know if some dogs eat bearded dragons?
That’s awesome you are preparing before hand I’m very proud of you! Dogs do try and eat bearded dragons often so just make sure he doesn’t get out of the cage
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse Awesome! Thank you so much!!! I have been feeding my 7 month old beardie only crickets and dubias (no larger than the space between his eyes). I wanna add more to his diet!
I keep a paper towel tube in my enclosure and throw 15 to 20 crickets in and my 6 year old bearded will eat until he's full and the tube gives the left overs somewhere to go and not be on him. He slaps the tube for more.
They can be at lower temps but around 105 is minimum sometimes though depending on the dragon they may like 102f as well. I always say 100f -115f max. Based on there behavior if they get too hot they will usually glass surf.
Is it okay if I breed my crickets outside in like those plastic sheds you see at Home Depot. Or is there a good chance parasites could get in the crickets
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse alright thank you, I was doing a comparison of information of what I gathered from you and from what a reptile store owner knows, they said kale shouldn't be fed often but like every few months or just none at all...something about D3 and calcium inhibitors? It got me worried since I fed my beardie three small pieces of kale this morning.
I’ve read so many conflicting statements about romaine lettuce. Can this be a staple salad for dragons? It is the only one I’ve found that my dragon will eat. ❤ (lol I also have a dumpster dragon he will eat crickets till he pops 😂)
The only thing about romaine is that it’s just mainly water but that’s a great hydration source for beardies since they do get most hydration through greens. I offer romaine once a week to my dragons. I do offer the other high nutrient content greens like collards and spring mix as well through the week
I've read that I shouldn't feed my juvenile dragon meal worms as they can cause impaction. Is this really an issue? Was feeding worms exclusively for a couple of weeks before reading that I shouldn't.
I have my Fancy Dragon for four days he's still a baby he's sleeping on my hand and gives me licks I dust my crickets and gave them spinach because he wont eat it showed him me eating a leaf but he might be too small for that kind of vegetable what do you recommend for vegetables for baby dragons?
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse I work at subway and got him some sliced cucumbers and he eat it the other day was very happy because that also packs allot of water so I don't worry as much about him to dehydrate but gave him warm bath today bonded with him went from bright orange to an almost red on his head its his first time shedding at home excited to see his colors come in and not sure if he's a boy or girl because they are barely bigger than my palm and sleeps on my hand allot and gives lots of licks so that's a good sign I owned Jackson chameleons years back in high school and Tokay geckos snakes and so on so glad getting another reptile again
