Shenandoah, in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is a place in Virginia that's a popular tourist spot internationally, and quite beautiful. That's probably where the girl from the UK visited. But when many Americans from the West or East coast hear 'Virginia', they don't think of Shenandoah. yes, I agree American people are very articulate and energetic, much to learn from Americans. Sadly, some of them come across as cocky and pedantic to people from foreing cultures. But prejudice and envy do play a role in this... you are- after all- a super power
I agree but also I wish they had more diverse Americans. Not in a race way, but region and maybe even political way (cuz they were clearly left leaning) which is fine. But that’s pretty important if ur tryna represent America cuz of how big and culturally diverse it is.
For those of you wondering why she said burritos: the burritos we have here aren't authentic Mexican burritos. They have been very Americanized to the point where it's basically its own thing. Pizza is the same way. I was astonished by how different pizza was when I went to Italy. In fact, the first two times I had it, I didn't even like it. It took me some getting used to before I enjoyed authentic Italian pizza. So I honestly don't blame her for saying burritos
Well your country is the one who created Taco Bell, a bastardized version of mexican food that also mexicans hate, United States just steal other countries food to make them more enjoyible for US people but more comercial too, why dont just prepare a proper foreing food and give a respective country the meri?

The thing with American cuisine is that it’s so influenced by the region and ethnic groups of the area. New England Clam Chowder isn’t really from the same area as Key Lime Pie, obviously, but also cuisine in the West is different than the South, for example.
Haley is uninformed about guns and made the US look bad by claiming it has no good background checks. The US has background checks that prevent felons and domestic abusers from owning guns. The US is a collection of states with their own laws like the EU, so some states have stricter gun laws like assault weapons bans and limiting magazines to 10 rounds. The reason the US has a high prevelance of gun ownership is that guns are viewed as a legitimate form of self-defense, and the US started as a frontier society with hostile natives and dangerous wildlife. Americans had to survive on their own devices without the aid of a European colonial power. This fostered a culture of self-relience that Europeans didn't need.
Just FYI for foreigners. You will NEVER be turned down for medical emergencies in the States. I believe its a law that they have to do whatever necessary to get you better. It is still not overcharged as it is in the US... because in the US, the patient is a customer so they will charge you on expenses that you might not need.... For example giving you the more expensive alternative to a threatment or giving you stuff you dont need. The medical system in America is (due to this) very unefficient. The US waste 16% of GDP in health with taxes but customers still pay for their health. In Singapur is 6% in Europe is around 8-10%... so it's actually "cheaper" to have a national health system.
@@Alejojojo6 I'm comparing my tax rate + medical insurance to someone I know in Sweden, and they actually pay less but get so much more compared to what I do. I'll add more as I think of it.
The amount you pay in taxes to have your insurance in most European countries is still lower on average than medical costs in the US. It varies from country to country and between US states, but some estimates I’ve seen are that the US person would pay about 2x to 3x more for their medical care than the European person would (including taxes allocated to healthcare).

Hunting is more of a rural thing I think. I'm from the northeast and I have friends who used to or still hunt every year. Used to take school off for the first day of deer season
This is VERY true. Californians in particular (and I grew up there) tend to think that their state is devoid of a bunch of things that they attribute to other places, but they are wrong.
Yup, it is more rural than southern or midwestern. It also isn't just for fun. We eat whatever we hunt. Certainly more of our hunts go to use than most animals raised for meat.
Hunting is a BIG deal in the rural midwest. I can name 9 gun retailers in town - within 6 miles from my house. In the mornings now, I'm hearing the pop pop pop of what I assume to be duck hunting. And I was very sad to learn that, in 2021, soon as wolves were delisted as Endangered Species, Wisconsin issued permits to allow hunters to kill 119 during the whole season, but in less than three days, hunters shot or trapped 218. It's nuts.
Most pepl I know that hunt, do it for the food. Not sport. I’m from Alaska, and we would hunt moose every year cuz it filled the freezer. It’s a different way of life, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad at all. City living vs rural living is VERY different. Hence the country being divided politically lol. 2 totally different ways to live.
What a pair of judgy rude women. "I've never heard anyone say they liked Virginia". If these ladies didn't have poor opinions of Americans before they would now after how rude they were.
New Hampshire doesn't have any well-known cities, so there really wasn't a city she could say that she'd expect even an American to know, much less a foreigner. Ask me what city and I'll tell you "I was born and raised in Chicago, but now live in Salt Lake." -- no states for me ;-) Though honestly, most foreigners probably haven't heard of Salt Lake either...
Probably because they're living in a foreign country and are used to people not knowing which city they're from, so it's easier to describe the state first.
In the 80s, my peers and I really liked both American and French films Both comedies and historical films. We judged Americans and Europeans by films. It was not quite.👍👏🌹❤️
Irene is right. In Spain we have free health care, although the waiting times for appointments or sugeries could be long, so many people pay for a private insurance. Anyway, if you are a foreigner, even undocumented, and you suffer an accident and your life is in risk, your life will tried to be saved in a spanish hospital. No matter the cost of the surgery. That's something I like of my country, all lives matters.
it's not exactly "free" as it does cost money. Everyone has a Social Security month tax when having a salary. And, in general we have much higher tax rates in Europe (circa 20% VAT on shop products and around 20-40% of total taxes on salaries). Even though I prefer the European healthcare systems, I must say.
📌 Yes, everyone should keep in mind these are very young individuals. Taxes, guns, and healthcare are incredibly complex topics - probably ones to skip during a first meeting. 📌 In the US, health insurance can be expensive, but keep in mind the majority of Americans pay zero federal taxes and no one is ever refused care because they can't afford it. We have the option of spending some of that saved money on health insurance. Also, We do in fact have a "free" healthcare system in place to cover elderly, younger people with disabilities, and low income. Our expensive healthcare also subsidizes medical care for the entire planet. If the federal government ever takes over healthcare, all humans will suffer. 📌 Guns are seen as tools, similar to the way you see a screwdriver or hammer. We keep them locked up and out of reach when not in use, in the same way you would keep a power saw out of the hands of children. However, they are accessible when needed. In the US, if there is an intruder breaking in, we can simply pull out a gun and solve the problem, as opposed to just laying down, getting raped and possibly murdered. "Gun Violence" (outside of a few big-city gang areas, that are completely avoidable) is a myth created by the media to push political agendas. Significantly more people are killed by hands, feet, and knives than guns. The numbers are not even close.

Virginia's motto is "Virginia is for Lovers" because it's a beautiful state. Wide open countrysides, bed & breakfast inns on horse farms, hiking the the Appalachian Mountain trails, the forests during the fall, the beaches along the coast. Also people who knowing nothing about guns shouldn't be talking about them. We have strict background checks when you legally purchase a firearm. Our actual healthcare is great healthcare, the issue is with the cost... Which there are very easy fixes that none of the politicians want to implement. 1st common mistake. 2nd common mistake is from the foreign girl saying she doesn't pay for healthcare. Yes she does. She pays for it in her taxes, its deducted every single paycheck from her. There is no such thing as "Free Healthcare" you dummies. It comes for and is paid from your taxes they take from you. 1st video I have ever seen from this channel, but suggestion is if you are going to ask people about deep complex issue, have guests who actual know the things they are talking about.
Wow, what a knock to Virginia. I'm not from there, Midwest but I've been there. It was nice, went to Shenandoah. I'd recommend it. And yes lots of people in the Midwest have hunting rifles. They hunt for deer, pheasant, ducks. Also lots of fishing. Many people have cabins and enjoy being outdoors all year round . They don't hunt just to waste it, sausage and steaks are made from deer and many people have the hides tanned to make jackets.
When the person who moved from california to georgia and didn't know anyone who owned guns before moving and has never owned one themselves says the background checks aren't good you know it's cap
The cooking process is also different depending on where you go. In some areas they use a grill over an open flame, but in other places, it's more of a smoker, where everything is enclosed. And in both, they will argue that the other one isn't bar-b-que (bbq). Then there's the difference between dry rub, vs sauce.
Gun restrictions in the US are generally a joke. It's too easy to get a gun and there are far too many of them in the nation. No one who isn't an American should be in America until the nation's population grows up and changes a lot of things that the rest of the first world did long ago.

Aussies find it bizarre that America doesn't have universal basic health care. We have a public program, Medicare, for citizens and permanent residents. You don't lose this if you're unemployed. You don't have to stay in a job just because of its health care plan. Ppl can also buy additional private cover if they need/can afford it.
@H Too glib of an answer. We have Medicare, but it is only for the elderly (65 or older) or permanently disabled. We also have Medicaid, which is designed to help the indigent. These programs don't cover the vast majority of people in the U.S., particularly in states that have declined to accept expanded Medicaid for political reasons.
Maybe Aussies should instead find it bizarre that they believe in a human/civil right to the services of others whether or not they can afford it. Other people are not your indentured servants just because they can do things for you that you think would deem valuable.
@@kingben1216 This makes no sense. Nobody is asking health care workers to provide services for free. In countries with universal health care, the workers get paid for their services, either through a national health insurance plan or through taxes or both. Plus, the doctors, nurses, etc., go through med school and residency and get licenses in these systems just like anywhere else, so presumably they want to provide health services. Nobody is asking anybody to do anything they don't want to do and won't get paid for.
@@uchennanwogu2142 Well, you know it varies by program. The Medicaid recipients are by definition unable to cover the costs of private health insurance or they would not qualify for Medicaid. Some of them can afford private insurance (which is almost always more expensive than Medicare) and many cannot.

Sexuality in America is an interesting topic. There are some dense pockets of liberal America where it is very common to find sex positive communities, like in the pacific north west. On the other hand, where I grew up in the suburbs of Philedelphia, talking about sex openly wasn't common. It was kinda taboo to talk about and shameful if people knew it was happening without a committed relationship. It was always a private affair and sexual acts were to be only between married couples. In the pacific northwest it is easy to bring up your sexual interests and expectations with dates, because there is a lot of value on open consent. Its super common to find people here in long term relationships who are seeking additional sexual partners without it being a secret or shameful.

The European girls don’t really know how healthcare systems work in UK and Spain apparently. First it’s not free, it’s paid through taxes so taken from your salary every month. Second it rarely covers 100%, it covers most of the cost but if you don’t have private insurance on top you might end up paying some remaining cost from pocket. As a foreigner who studied in US I find American sex culture very confusing, they tend to go to the extremes a lot. Having sex in high school is usually considered problematic (in Europe it’s ok, many people get into relationships in high school and you have lots of sex education at that age). Then somehow when they go to college they are pressured to attend the big parties and they have the “hook-up” culture where you need to sleep with a few people per week just for the experience which I never understood. Then when people graduate university suddenly everyone starts to get married quickly and overall I find Americans marrying much earlier than Europeans do. Sometimes in Europe people just co-habit and don’t rush into marriage at all. I still have no idea how American people can go from one extreme to the other so quickly. But this is my environment (which may be rich white people) so it may not be representative.
@ouaisss 38 It's 2021 and now we're gatekeeping food. Food is meant to be shared, so just chill.
Something for all the Europeans watching this video. The information about firearms from the woman from California is completely wrong. Every firearm purchaser in America must undergo a background check. This background check is accomplished by the FBI. The seller is a registered FFL dealer. FFL is Federal Firearms License holder to sell firearms. With three classes of firearms that can be sold by the dealer. The initial background check is for typical firearms. Semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, semi-automatic rifles, bolt action rifles and all shotguns. Suppressors are restricted to a separate background check. It may take up to a year to actually get a suppressor. Any select fire fully automatic firearm is absolutely forbidden in some states. Very expensive to purchase even if you can find one that has been registered. A separate transfer tax is required for all suppressors, short barreled rifles and shotguns. And a very unique process for obtaining a fully automatic firearm. This is only processes done by the national, Federal government. Some states have additional restrictions. It is very difficult to aquire a full automatic firearm. Don't listen to people like the women from California. Besides, when she was asked "what is your favorite American food" she answered burritos. Burritos are Mexican, not American. Tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas are examples of Mexican food. For those that have plans to visit America. Stay away from the typical tourist trap areas. Disneyland and Disney World are examples. A one day ticket can cost $500 each. To get an understanding of America go to Colonial Williamsburg, 101 Visitor Center Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23185. A very educational place to learn of the earliest days of America. You will understand why Americans are so individualistic. Then go to Washington DC to visit the Capital ground and monuments. Too many visitors really never see America when visiting. Disneyland is not what I call America. That garbage is a fantasyland. Just another place to take your money.
Glad someone said this. The only valid argument against guns would be about kids/teenagers abusing them. But that’s not even an issue with the guns, its an issue with the parents and mental health. So nvm, there isn’t a valid argument against guns lmao.
@@troyboi7662 The valid argument that other similar countries that have outlawed or severely restricted gun ownership have virtually no gun violence while its ubiquitous in the US.
I like how she was talking about the hunters then says most of them dont have background checks thats bullshit i wish i could watch a video without something political being inserted
@@noahremnek3615 my comment is a sarcastic remark about the dumb-ness of the people's comments in the clip ya Donut. I know fully about what happens when you purchase a firearm.
Rest of the world: here we have the only well developed country that still does not have universal healthcare. United States: hello I like money Rest of the world: what inspired you to make people pay tens of thousands of dollars on healthcare and let them die if they don’t have it? United States: money
Well Forest, there's Texas bbq, Carolina bbq, Tennessee bbq, Chicago bbq, Korean bbq, Alabama bbq, PNW bbq, south west bbq, Kansas City bbq, Montana bbq, Cali bbq. I think that's about it for bbq
It's just the women's clothing that's sized that way. Cuz sexism. They would rather trick women into thinking they're smaller than they are, rather than just size clothes according to their literal size, like they do with men's clothes.
Women’s sizes make literally no sense anyway. What the hell is a 00 size? Or even just what is a 0? Zero what? It can’t be any actual measurement, or you would not have a piece of clothing.
I am in America and my health care is free because I make so little money, I get Medicaid in California. Before that I was able to get an x-ray on my foot for $60 at a place recommended to me by my Chiropractor when he checked out my foot for free. I know my scenario is not the norm but I did want to through in my anecdotal information to more fully inform, foreign sources.
5:10 "You don't pay at all?, No." - Yes... you pay for your health care.... its called taxes..... "In the UK, we don't pay for anything"..... Yes... You do.... its called taxes..... "You have to pay thousands for x-ray" - No... we have insurance... I pay 20 bucks for clinic, xrays are covered..... "You just have to die if you cant afford it" - No..... ER HAS to take care of patients regardless of their financial status......
I feel like they stacked the deck with the 2 Americans they chose. Both seemed extremely similar in their answers, almost none of which were flattering. "Hey, bring in the Americans! No, no - the airheaded ex-pats - yeah, them!" 🤨
