I'm so envious of your shelving and racks in the back of the van! I put my passenger seat down and store all my $hit there - stacked up to the window! Things like my sack barrow I hardly ever use (indeed I used it for the first time ever a few weeks ago) because it's so much hassle to get out!

Check the small print in your insurance breakdown because some will only cover you for about 10 miles, they are really sneaky in hiding it in the small print..Better to check now than find out stuck at the side of the road..

Hi Ray I’ve had a breakdown unfortunately about 2 months ago and I was in Oxfordshire. Apart from an overly long delay in waiting there were no issues. The van was recovered back up to Oldham the next day and they got me a taxi to the nearest hire car company and paid for me to have a small hire car for a couple of days so I have no complaints with the level of breakdown cover.

@anvillogistics477 Год назад
Hi Jack On my LWB I usually run between £1.10 to £1.30 per mile. It can depend on many variables like how busy the feed is, where it’s going. If it’s an area that I’m less likely to pick up another job then I’ll bid the higher rate to cover some dead miles to a busy area. I have a minimum of £40 even if it’s next door. Sometimes I’ve got £1.60/£1.70 if the shipper needs it covering urgently an no one else is in the area. Luton’s tend to run £1.30 to £1.50 I believe, but they have lower mpg and need to. Good luck Dave.

Is courier exchange worth it especially with the membership fees being 1650 plus vat? Second question: What sort of items do you need the hazardous goods for. I didnt get that in my insurance so just wondering? And would you be told by the shippers about it before hand? Im a bit of an introvert and i struggle with sales and building business relationships. So have you got any tips on getting contacts.

@anvillogistics477 Год назад
Hi there Sorry for the delay in replying I’ve been working. In my opinion the Courier Exchange at the moment is over subscribed with too many drivers and not enough work. I wouldn’t recommend joining unless you intend to use it as a backload tool. I have my own work and rarely use the CX as it’s difficult to get a reasonable rate with all the competition bidding for work. If you have no work of your own at all then the CX is the best of the platforms but also the most expensive. Regarding getting your own work you need to ring round your local shipping companies and get yourself known. If you struggle face to face try sending out emails to as many as possible
@anvillogistics477
