He went to a built team with experienced veterans who probably put him in his place. He was a pompous entitled douche in Buffalo with a negative attitude.
"It stung a bit" 😂😂😂 I really feel sorry for the Sabres fans, as well as the management. Booing Eichel after he played there for 7 years? Him winning the Stanley Cup after the trade is a slap in their faces. 😂
Great players have a champions mindset and are willing to EARN IT the hard way. Eichel took the easy way and went to an already built team. Steve Yzerman stayed with the Red Wings and it took them 14 years to finally win a cup. After losing in the 1st in the round countless times, finishing dead last, watching his rivals win the cup several times. He never complained and worked his ass off every year, putting up far more points than Eichel. That's a real champion.
GREAT question. I too have mixed feelings. I was rooting for Florida too. But really didn't WANT to see Jack win the Cup, but happy a team that hasn't won the Cup, you know win.
Because after playing for 7 years with Sabres, booing from the fans is what he gets when he returned? It was a great decision that he was traded off in Vegas. He is a blessing to VGK, management and fans.
