On our Trans-Siberian Trip, we went through Mongolia and we thought it would be great to try some Mongolian food. We went to a restaurant called Modern Nomads, because we saw some other videos about the restaurant and Miguel's Mongolian co-worker said it was good enough.
We ordered about 5 things and really enjoyed most of the Mongolian food. A few things were better than others, but overall we were impressed by the food.

I'm a Mongolian, living in Belgium. First of all, very nice video! You guys described everything really well and props to you for being brave enough to try the different national/traditional dishes. Mongolian food isn't really haute cuisine and it's pretty bland (combinations of wheat, milk and meat lol) but it gets the job done. The dishes seemed true to what you'd get if you were staying at a Mongolian family's house and it sure looked like what my mom prepares. I think you got a pretty good first taste of Mongolian cuisine :)

Good to hear it is similar to the food your mother made you growing up. Sometimes it is hard to tell how authentic the food is if you are not familiar with it. How long have you been living in Belgium?

Yes ur right tsuivan is very dry food. We usually eat Tsuivan with sauces or with milk tea .. what makes it special is Tsuivans original taste is veri unique. In mongolia men very love to eat it. :)) very common and hard to make it tasty actually.. very enjoyed ur video :) goodluck

I died when y’all took a knife to the buuz the best part is to have it in one go and savor the juices “soup”. Maybe try the foods as is first and then try to dissect after. Otherwise thanks for giving everything a go y’all are brave! Could have used some salads like potato salad and beetroot if they had any and coleslaw. I will say some of the foods at modern nomads does come out a bit drier than usual.
