I've heard negative feedback re GLP-1's and SGLT-2's including serious thyroid issues. Do you have any knowledge of strong side effects for these new T2D meds?
There are no issues with thyroid problems, however, if you read the black box warnings (on all GLP-1s) they talk about a rare condition called medullary thyroid carcinoma, which has primarily occurred in laboratory animals in early studies, but not an issue in humans. These two drugs have saved more lives than any other diabetes drug other than insulin.
