I feed my two guinea pigs Hay, Pellets, Grass, dandelions and other fruit of veg such as Celery, Cucumber, Bell pepper, Carrot, Romaine lettuce and other greens we have in the fridge but I ALWAYS make sure it is safe for the guinea pig to eat first!
I recently bought the Burgess Excel food which you showed in the video 😁. I found out that my piggies current food isn't really the best for them so happy to have found a better food for them to switch on to 😊
We bought it on Amazon - check out the description as there's a link to it there plus links for all the other products you see in the video :) Some of the products including this (I think!) won't be available in the US though unfortunately

Thanks Adele, I'm glad you found it helpful. A piggy's diet is so important to their health and they live for their food! You may also want to check out our foraging video as there are lots of things you'll find outdoors that they can also eat ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-veme32Ii1-0.html
this guide is so helpful! but i have a small request. could you make a guide of how to take care of baby guinea pigs? i'm getting three of them soon so that would be really helpful ty!
My guinea pig LOVES cilantro, parsley, cucumbers, spinach and kale. She also loves grape tomatoes, the green tops from strawberries and bell peppers, and grapes. She eats us out of house and home 😂
Oxbow are a good brand so if your guinea pigs need vitamin c then they should be fine. But if your guinea pigs are given a variety of fresh veggies each day (which all piggies need) there is really no need for this as they'll get all they need in the veggies. Here's a video about some of the popular veggies that can be fed regularly ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PCDWC84eeHY.html
It can take some time to get your guinea pig to trust you. You need to be really patient, quiet and still if you're hand feeding them for the first time. Persistence will pay off so try each day and you'll get there in the end. Also, if you have just one guinea pig she may be lonely which may make her less likely to come out of her hideout. How much ( in grams) is 1 8th of a cup?I’m worried my pigs are going to be overweight. Currently they get 2 egg cups weighing 25g each per bowl. There are 2 bowls.
I have a question, it's maybe not about the information in this video, but when I'm cuddling with my guinea pig and she gets comfortable she usually pees. I don't know if I was cuddling with her to long I also can't see signs she wants to go back to her cage. Is this normal?
Alfalfa is good for very young guinea pigs or pregnant/nursing guinea pigs but not for adult guinea pigs who aren't pregnant or nursing except as an occasional treat. Timothy or Meadow hay are the best types of hay - you might like this video we did on hay ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I0h_WriLmh4.html
They do need pellets because they're formulated with important vitamins for guinea pigs but they must be the proper guinea pig pellets and not those made for other pets :)
