Great show like always guys!! This was a huge surprise for me hearing about Saunders leaving. He was going to be a huge part of the team this year but it’s how the landscape is now. We should ok and still have a great team. He will be replaced… How does New Mexico have the funds for their players??? San Diego should have more funding and more to offer than a small Lobos team.San Diego is not a poor city!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Michael

Some fans support a team because they like to see players develop as a team over a few years.Some fans support a winning team no matter who is in it. Some fans support a team no matter the record or who is playing because they have a connection with that team.

Wanting to transfer is acceptable. What isn’t okay is deciding to do this 36 hours before the portal closes. The only way this timing would be acceptable is if Dutch, at the last second, told him his minutes were going down next season. This is HIGHLY unlikely. Saunders had months to make this decision. It’s a bush league move that puts the entire program in a bad spot. The same program that paid him a salary, paid for his education, where he got to go to the Natty and another Sweet Sixteen. If he has another motive, it’s up to Saunders to communicate this; otherwise, everyone will think it’s just about money. Doing this at the eleventh hour is a reflection on Saunder's character.

2000 players in the portal....350 teams... Equals on average 6 players per team in the portal. Aztecs have had only 3 players leaving...

We’re just not used to it. The last guy to leave was Dinwiddie and he went to Weber St where he avg like 5 ppg. Che Evans left as well, but I think that had to do with his injury allowing other players to leap frog him on the bench. Over the last 10 years I think we’ve lost less than 10 players to the portal and they’ve almost all left because of PT. In reality, recruits should be looking at guys like LeDee who went from 12 minutes off the bench to All-American. There are so many players that would have bolted after 2023.

Money aside, the portal activity reflects the generation. The swipe and tap generation. Anyone who knew anything about the program know that Dutch wants to stack his team with 9 or 10 starters. That’s how they made it so far in 2022. I have faith Dutch can reload, but I have less faith in sustained retention like we’re so used to.

I wonder if Elijah would have not entered the portal if SDSU did not transfer anybody in? Based on the incoming transfers and freshman Elijah might have been worried about having to share playing time so if he is going to share that time than why not go and see if I can get more money since I’m probably sharing more minutes than I like.

Saunders lost minutes as last season progressed and for good reason. SDSU is one of the premiere teams in the west. If you start regressing after being in the program for two years, well you go get his replacement in Coleman. Gonzaga would do it.

Sad to see him go, but looking forward to having the extra scholarship available to get a big man who can bang in the paint for rebounds.

A very good defender, a beast. But he lacked fluidity and athleticism with all of his bulk. Although he could hit a three on occasion I think he had a low ceiling offensively.

UVA fan here. Good show guys. I don't like portal either. UVA can't compete with new starters every year. Hope some limitations are placed on the portal. UCLA may take a Mc Donald's all American as a walk on. Scholarship ships won't make any difference. Just another issue.

I wish! Let’s be honest, he probably thought Gwath and JCJ were going to take up minutes. Which is crap. Dutch is pretty loyal to his program guys until proven otherwise.

Yes, I honestly didn't really care much about Butler or Parrish, because neither we're consistent last year, and I feel SDSU will do better with the new pickups. But this one bothered me because he had a bright future if he kept working hard, but either couldn't see that or left for some unknown reason that we'll never know. I'm sure it'll be a blessing in disguise. As Dutcher said, he doesn't want anyone with one foot in one foot out.

Hey John looking forward to you calling Aztec football! As far as Elijah entering portal. He was overrated as far as I’m concerned. If Dutch didn’t say say anything about earlier as a maybe well maybe he was distancing himself. I’m thinking something big is coming our way. Thank you excellent show
