Michigan didn't have Harbaugh, lost their best OLM and DB in the 2nd half and said " No excuses let's win" Harbaugh has developed the depth of his team all year and it paid off today.
Absolute facts. Obviously I want to win and I'm upset that we lost but we played a great game and I can live with with it. I also don't like to dog players and I'm going to ride with whoever we start but McCord does not have the it factor in my opinion. He seems very emotional bad plays getting down good plays get him high. He played a great game better than I thought he would but at the end of the day McCarthy was a little bit better.
You know Romans of that time have fallen & only their ancient buildings remain around!!! Be careful what compare yourself to as may become more true than you want!!! 👎💩🤡. 🙏 Revival & Israel
As a Wolverine, i really respect you guys and your analysis of The Game. Moreover, not harping on the "scandal ", etc. and concentrating on the 60 minutes that just took place. This was a game against Two Really Really good teams, and to look at this game for what it is, I appreciate. If it were UM that lost, id feel the same. Big Time programs have Big Time expectations. Best of luck the rest of the way.
Because “the scandal” really was t that big of a deal. Every major FBS team does advanced scouting whether they want to admit it or not. And if they’re not doing that they’re paying for players before NIL was a thing. LOOKING AT YOU SEC! GO BLUE!
Yet, Fishigan has cheated and there is more coming! There is asterisk *** for each win at least for this year if not for several past years! Fishigan isn’t a winner…it’s a college football pariah!
As a M fan , I’d like to give the Ohio university credit on a hard-fought game today and wish them best of luck in the Idaho Potatoes bowl this bowl season!
This is all about player development. OSU has been blessed with 4 and 5 star talent but they fail to develop them into players that will elevate in big time games. This is where the charge of being "soft" comes in. It's not that they are soft, it's that they can't elevate to that next level when it is all on the line. Why? It comes down to coaching: coaching during the game, developmental coaching during the off-season and coaching during the season that extends the talent to another level. The difference today? Michigan's quarterback coach--he has prepared JJ McCarthy for this game and JJ has responded by growing. CJ Stroud with all his talent and ability is now getting the QB coaching he deserved to get at OSU but didn't. That's the difference. What Michigan did three years ago is it elevated its 3 and 4 star players to beat 4 and 5 star players, while OSU rested on that 5 star talent and didn't make them into "6" stars. And that has happened every year since. Change that, and you change the outcome.
Why is/was Ryan Day considered this QB/OC guru? What great schematics and player development can he point to? Hartline can take credit for the WR’s, but what does Day get credit for? The record against ranked teams? Hiring a f/t Special Teams coach?
Very well said! I've been saying this the last couple years. It was really apparent in the QB play. JJ was so much better than McCord that was rated a 5* coming out of HS.
The problem wasn't play calling, O line or defense. The problem was McCord. The O line improved and the D is very good. When you have a QB that panicks and doesn't see the field you lose opportunities to move the ball consistently. McCord misses lots of open receivers and panicks under the slightest pressure. The reason we only lost this one is because the rest of the team is elite. Our only hope is getting the young freshman ready or picking up a QB in the portal. If McCord is our QB next year, we'll lose to TTUN again. At that point I'll be on the get rid of Ryan band wagon
While TTUN’S stealing signs, 6.7 ppg allowed for defense. After stealing signs stopped, 17+ points per game. Ohio State’s offense scored 24, nearly 4x the cheater defense and +7 on the non-cheater defense. Buckeye’s offense outscored TTUN’s offense 24-23. This game came down to a single play: McCord’s first interception.
@@stevepipenger4651 No game ever comes down to a single play, even last second scores. Ohio State did a fine job stopping the run in the first half but could not stop it in the second half. Ohio State had multiple opportunities to stop the last Michigan drive much earlier to get the ball back with more time (keeping more plays available to the OSU offense) but they could not stop Michigan. Blame goes to both the OSU defense giving up 30 points and the OSU offense only scoring 24.
The biggest problem is how conservative Ryan Day is. Not going for it on that 4th and 1 from the 46 is was abysmal. I know Marv had 5 for 118 and a TD, but it still felt like he wasn’t involved enough. He’s the best player in America he should’ve had more targets. Day wasnt conservative against Georgia last year up until the last drive. Which is why it was a close but ultimately why we lost bc he got conservative. But when we beat Clemson in 2020 he wasn’t like this. Even against Georgia last year he had that emotion and fire. Say whatever you want about Urban Myer, he was 7-0 against Michigan and won a national championship
Wrong xichigan has talent but not close to ohio state Xichigan will have players drafted.. not in the top rounds like TOSU..that's why day is on the hot seat
@@joshuathebuckeyeartistbartonLook at all the defensive talent Michigan has. Kyle McCord is mid. Ryan Day is now the new John Cooper. That’s facts! Corum and Edwards are NFL running backs come April’s NFL Draft.
@@joshuathebuckeyeartistbarton Ya okay...Huthinson was 'only' the second pick in the draft, two drafts ago. Mazi Smith was first round this year. Luke Schoonmaker was a 2nd round pick this year. DJ Turner was also 2nd round. Michigan led the big ten in guy's going to the NFL last spring. This year will be even more.
@@Shallnotbeinfringed2A Don't know. I imagine JJ is leaving early. He'll be a first round pick. Has size, mobility and big arm. So it's going to be a total turnover.
UM guy here. From the minute Ryan Day shot his mouth off about "hanging a hundred" on UofM in 2018, he gave us ETERNAL bulletin board material. That has NOT been forgotten. Ironically, 2018 was the last year Day won (with Urban Meyer's team's no less). That was 5- years ago. Today, Ryan Day lost to a coach who was munching on Cheetos in his PJs at home. Even God hates pride, especially unearned. How do you fire an 11-1 coach? UofM wants Day to stay at OSU. It's mental now, like Cooper. With that said, respect to OSU. I would NOT want to play them again.
2019 56-27 Ryan Day head coach. 2020 was when he made those remarks. The year Michigan cancelled due to Covid. No excuses for these past 3 years but Jim Harbaugh knows had they played in 2020 Jim wouldn’t have a job.
Michigan won all three phases of the game. Scored more points on offense. Two interceptions on Defense. And fieldgoal kicking and punting were excellent.
Michigan fan here and I was at the game today. I shook hands with OSU fans after the game because the Buckeyes have nothing to hang their heads about. The kids on both teams played hard and exhibited amazing skill! If OSU even thinks about firing Coach Day that would be crazy in my view. He has a very high winning percentage and the game today was very close.
Of course you want him to stay. Three wins in a row now for Michigan, someone needs to be held accountable for those failures and Day is the head coach, he must go and is nothing more than Cooper 2.0
@@keithsexton4886yeah but it really doesn’t matter anymore starting next year. Osu can lose to Michigan every season and still be a NC contender with the 12 team playoff. I’m a 〽️ and hate to say it. Both osu and Michigan should be locks for the playoffs every year but I’m afraid next year if JJ leaves they’ll have to play texas, oregon, usc, Washington, and osu with a new QB. Even with JJ that’s a tough schedule.
I’m enjoying this Michigan win. And I’m enjoying the Ohio State loss especially after all the nasty things that their fan base loves to hurl in Michigan’s direction. I. Am. Happy. 😅
Prayers up to you guys for having to walk a little further to get to the media room. Hope your job covering college football can help offset the extra 23 calories you had to expend today
@@Buckeyesteve10 Harbaugh wasn’t born on 3rd base !!!! Harbaugh actually had to build his team for the first 3-4 years !!! When Ohio State was set and had the best recruiting classes lined up to sign with them !!!!! Give Michigan credit for catching up and passing Ohio State as the big dog of the Big Ten !!!!!!!!
@@m.i.bmastertoymuseum1979, credit where credit is due. Just saying, nothing in this rivalry is “for good.” We had your number for 20 years. Now you’ve got ours. Nothing lasts forever. But yeah, man, you guys got us. Hate to admit it, but you’re just better right now.
Urban knew the value of having a dual-threat QB in college football. In close games, a QB who can improvise in pressure situations to make plays with his legs is often the difference. McCord was a strange choice at QB considering what OSU has produced over the past two decades.
Imagine if Michigan had the type of talent ohio has!?.. Michigan only has 2 5 star players compared to ohios 20 something! 😂 And Michigan and ohio have the same amount of draft picks! That's SAD!
@@ethanweeter2732😂😂 let me know if this ended bad bot this no talent Michigan team just had the most successful single season in all of collage sports history😂😂😂
The guys brought up a good point that Day is just catching Michigan when they're really good. Meyer only played against 2 Michigan teams (2016 and 2018) that were something better than just ok.
Good job bringing up UM being great at the same time Day is coaching. People overlook that. During the OSU streak of 7 straight wins over UM that preceded this UM streak, OSU entered The Game in the top 10 in ALL of those 7 matchups. UM was a top ten team in only two of those games and was UNRANKED in three of them. It would have been a disaster if Urban had gone any worse than 5-2 considering how much weaker UM was during that stretch. (The RichRod experiment set UM back for about a decade...just a terrible decision).
Michigan has a few Ohio offensive lineman in their upcoming class. These are some smart kids to head north. Hope McCord follows day to A&M, he played good today.
@@paullumbrezer2195 Yeah, that suspension really hurt UM. 3-0, 2 of which were against the 2 of the Top 3 in the B1G. Oh, right...he stole your signals, right?
I agree. I don't give two sh!ts about 5* WRs anymore. They mean nothing, unless you can recruit the offensive and defensive lines, you're a glorified Air Raid offense, and doomed to lose every meaningful game. Of Justin Frye can't get a 4* or 5* lineman, replace him. If Larry Johnson can't, replace him. The time for dicking around is done. No other game matters, but this one. Win it, or leave.
Honestly I don’t think osu OL played that bad this time. Out of the 3 losses I thought they were pretty good this last game. I was impressed they didn’t have any false starts or melt down due to the crowd noise where 2 years ago they were full of mistakes.
@@wesss365No, the NCAA said they didn’t know of any connections, but that’s easy to say when they didn’t investigate it. I’m not saying Day is for sure connected to the PI firm, I’m saying we don’t know either way because no investigation has been done to determine that either way.
Honestly I need someone to hip me to the history. Because I know only two osu coaches who didn't get consistently beat my Michigan in the over 100 yr history. So getting beat by Michigan shouldn't be a surprise
@@RKK-bl4oz yes. Your "wins" and our "losses" both come off of the record book. There will sadly be no B10 champion listed from 2021-2023 once the B10 and NCAA are done with you guys. Those years will just be left blank. Although, there are some rumblings that OSU may be able to claim the titles for those years since they were the highest ranked eligible team those years (since UM will soon be deemed ineligible)
I've attended around 10 games at Michigan over the years and sometimes I don't appreciate the size of the stadium. However, this shot from field view makes Michigan Stadium look immense!
Not taking anything away from the Buckeyes, but the Heisman Trophy goes to the best player in college football each year. I don't remember Marvin Harrison's name being mentioned as a candidate. Also, OSU doesn't have the best defense in the country, statistically. Michigan doesn't/didn't rely on just one or two players to pull their fat out of the fire, OSU is exactly that. Everybody on the planet knew that the ball was going to Harrison, so they just doubled him or chucked him at the line to prevent him doing what he does. And it worked. Player development is the key.
Honestly, it's just time to move on from him. He's a repeat offender for the same mistakes year after year in big games. JUST MOVE ON. He does not make our program but he clearly has the ability to break it over the rocks up north.
Suggesting that Coach Day is "one and three against Michigan" discounts the players' responsibilities. If one analyzes each play of the game, you will see players missing blocks, tackles, passes, open receivers, and so on. The Ohio State TEAM is one and three against Michigan over the last four games - not just the head coach.
Nothing better than being a Michigan Man today! No more mentioning cheating, your program and coaches are soft. 3 years straight of beating the piss outta OSU Fire your coach and try to build your program back, it's not fun without a rivalry
@@gregj831😂 There will be a program. That whole sign stealing thing is ridiculous. All the teams do it. They do it at the high school level. We all know what it was really about.
Keep your advice to yourself. Ohio State did not lose because it was soft. Win the next four and I will listen to you. Good luck getting boat raced in the playoffs and see you next year.
Update. Defense gave up 30 which is not great, Kyle McCord is way over his skis right now, Michigan is better coached as they can win with an interim coach and if you are still whining about signs, your coach is the one who said he knew about it….so you must be saying he was too dumb to change his signs? The better team won this year…we will see again in 364 days……
To be honest the defense is the only reason why OSU was even in games this season. The play-calling from Ryan has been Sus all season. It’s crazy how Ryan can coach so aggressive against UGA last season but can’t coach like that against UM. I mean they didn’t even have there HC on the sidelines! Ryan Day may not get fired, but I do feel like him and his family won’t be able to go anywhere in Columbus without hearing about this lost as long as he’s coaching at OSU.
He will probably never loose to Michigan again though. This loss may suck but Michigans NIL is bad, their recruiting has fallen outside the top 14 in back to back recruiting classes, and Jim Harbaugh might not be there next year. OSU will likely win the Big Ten next year.
You mean the defense who let Michigan eat the last 8 minutes of the clock up that defense Michigan just didn't have the plays so they wasn't blowing ppl out still a good team
Really? I thought Day did a good job with play calling. What failed though was his QB made fatal mistakes. Marv and Treveyon had good games, the D was good, the QB? Not so much
Day is becoming the new John Cooper. Since Woody Hayes, OSU coaches born and raised in Ohio have a 16-2 record versus Michigan. Coaches not from Ohio are 8-17-1. You have to be from Ohio to feel the passion and importance of that game!!
Urban Meyer was always right about one thing. You have to have a QB that can run, at least occasionally. McCord could not, and Brown apparently could not without getting hurt. McCarthy could and did. It makes a huge difference on how your opponent has to prepare and makes red zone scoring easier. You have to be able to score more than in the twenties to win against the big boys.
As a Penn Stater, we have the same exact issue. Drop back QBs are fine when you have a bigger line. But when their line is bigger, having a mobile QB gives you so many more options.
Ryan Day BETTER sit down and have a good conversation with Honda McCord and ask him if he wants to be an NFL QB or does he wants to sell insurance because it ain't lookin good you just cannot go thru an entire season and be the only position not to improve
They NEED to have any excuse to justify Michigan's dominance. That comment cancelled all the "respectful" comments they made. I'm not saying this toward real OSU football fans that understand the game.
I have been an Ohio State fan for 33 years and I am telling you right now that I will Never watch another OSU game until Ryan Day is fired. He is John Cooper 2.0. 0-3 against the TTUN and 1-4 in the playoffs. Enough is enough. Bring back Jim Tressel
It comes down to three things: 1. Coaching 2. Mental toughness 3. Physical toughness OSU just isn't good enough in those three areas to beat Michigan! If you gave them 2-3 weeks to prepare, they'd probably win! With only a week to prepare, they just can't do it!
Look at cj stroud now, he runs why not at osu? Cause day doesn't want his qb running. And that system won't win natty or superbowl day is not good for osu he's a MAC coach
I’ve watched so many of these videos. It is so fun to watch this base lose their stuff and their players quitting. Best defense Ohio has had in 15 years potentially and best WR prospect in a decade.
Sorry guys about Michigan Pranav talking trash/being poor sports. Ohio State is a great program and great players. In the end it’s just a game and we should be able to have a beer afterwards and gets some bragging rights. It’s a big game bra wise both programs are elite.
As a long time fan of The Ohio state Buckeyes, the loss today hurts & is also frustrating as well losing for the 3rd straight time to your arch Rivals, I will say on offense Kyle McCord is a Problem and needs to be fixed with a more talented QB at the helm I feel he is not as talented as what we have had in the past!
@@69UM24OSU12 It's not the same. Michigan has sucked since the turn of the millenium. OSU of course was going to dominate and win a stretch of 8 straight games when Michigan was garbage. On the other hand, Michigan throughout history always found a way to beat OSU when OSU was the best team in college while Michigan was still kinda relevant. The 1990's were more embarrassing for OSU than the 8 loss stretch which MU had
It is always dangerous after a game, spectators walking the streets forget how to read the glowing crosswalk signs and will walk right out into traffic.
OSU fans must remember that Tressel and Meyer did not face scUM teams of this caliber. scUM of '21, '22 and '23 are vastly superior to those teams of old when Tressel and UFM coached at tOSU. We need to recruit better OL and DL--not to mention get a new Special Teams coach.

Geeezus H, calm down people… The guy is 56-6. Firing Ryan Day would be both foolish and flippant… Good coaches don’t just grow on trees. Unless Urban is coming back (which he is not), there isn’t a better coach to replace him with. Take a deep breath and trust that he’ll make necessary changes in the off-season (like he did with the defense when he hired Jim Knowles) - The most glaring issue has been not having a dual-threat QB to stretch the field and defenses. As good of a dude as Kyle McCord seems, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lincoln Kleinholz unseat him next year because he has the dual threat ability that made Urban’s offenses so lethal.
@@joechriste7052 Exactly… These armchair coaches that are calling for RD’s job are as delusional as Joe Biden at a WH press conference - He’s 56-6 and has the highest win percentage of any active FBS coach. You can’t just replace that type of productivity.
It was the QB unfortunately! I was the biggest McCord fan, even said he should start over CJ a few years back (ya that was dumb). I believe osu has to find a QB
