Jeremiah 50:6 My people hath been lost sheep. Thats talking about the children of Israel only, no one else. That’s why Matthew 15:24 says, I ( Christ ) am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
5:39 why think of it that way when it says “go astray.” That means that the sheep was once there for it to have gone astray. Not new sheep that are to be added to the flock.

I think that it is a misuse of the text to say that since they are all sheep that were previously in the care of the shephard. Just like how the prodigal son was originally at his fathers house.
@@thebenzaga Have you read the parable of the sower, there were four grounds (hearts) three of the grounds believed but only one of the grounds was good ground, only those who are born from above like Jesus told Nicodemus was the only way to see the kingdom. Jesus was referring to Ezekiel 36:25-27l. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Notice who is talking, doing, and the results, God was the one talking, God was the one doing and the results was that Israel was cleansed, had a heart replacement, had God's spirit put in them which will cause them to walk in his ways. Israel is God's sheep but Jesus included us when he said other sheep I have that are not of this fold them I must bring in also. Mathew 7:21 - 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Notice God did not say I used to know you, he said he never knew them.

I would lean more towards these parables being strictly about Israel. Comparing it with passages like: Jeremiah 50:6 KJV [6] My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. Matthew 10:6 KJV [6] but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:24 KJV [24] But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Sounds clear to me this would only be referring to the lost house of Israel. For example the prodigal son could be referring to Judah and Israel. This does not mean salvation is not open to gentiles, so please dont misunderstand.
Nvm I found what you're referring to. I still don't think this relates to the context of the parable. My reasoning is all three of the parables (sheep, coin, and prodigal son) all illustrate that they were once possessed by the owner. Now unless we are concluding that everybody was God's selected people from Adam up until the time of Israel being chosen then is it safe to say Israel was/ is God's people who he had in his possession and were lost and wants to find them back? As for the passage you brought up, could the two fold be the two kingdoms Israel and Judah since they were split? Food for thought. Would love to hear your interpretation though as I may be missing something because that was a great passage you brought up.

Paul explains that there is a partial hardening of the nation-that many will refuse the Messiah-until the fullness of the Gentiles occurs. Israel’s hardening will continue until the divinely set number of Gentiles are saved: “Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ” (Romans 11:25, NLT).
This is all Old Testament! Matthew, Luke and John are ALL Old Testament Books and is ONLY speaking to Israel. The Body of Christ are NOT SHEEP but Ambassadors of Christ.
The Shepard is to minister to male and female sheep which is not going in today. Preacher today have allowed the matriarch go unchecked and afraid to tell women there roles and not backing up the men like the pastor of old. When Jesus met the woman at the well he didn’t sugar coat his message to her and told her who she was. Nor did Paul sugar coat his messages and just blame the men.

It's on topic. All word is good for learning and getting better practical life. If I, real famale sheep get hysteric they force me to calm down and stay in church, and I calm down. No rules change for me, nothing. I get to shut up and obbey. If other female "sheep" gets hysterical, they soothe her, let her rule over a man in a relationship which is not marriage. I see there is no way to put out tares manually before angels come. Anyway, why does Jesus say "Don't put out the tares until it's time to reap?! You could harm wheat also?" It's so disturbing... Those shameless people in tight clothes saying how enlightened they are and we should just chill. These liberal pastors nowdays claiming to be merciful. They make me very angry. They are just weak.
