What does the timeline look like for JJ McCarthy? 

Michigan didn’t have the recievers to really show out. His skill set is as high as it can go. Give him some recievers. Which he has. Now and the sky’s the limit.

Love to hear your flexibility on JJ in this conversation. You had mentioned quite a lot in the pre-draft process about him not having a “superpower”, but he has a VERY good arm. It’s not a B+ or A- arm, it’s an A arm. It’s a rocket. Does he need more control? Absolutely. But it’s not just a good arm

Matthew I really enjoy your podcasts and I have gained further respect for you based on your flexibility of opinions. There are too many podcasts that drive a stake in the ground and refuse to evolve their opinions. I personally believe McCarthy is going to be a star in the NFL but I hope fans realize the kid is only 21 and it might be prudent to withhold judgement until year 2. I think McCarthy has a very good arm and his accuracy will be fine as he already has great mechanics. IMO the biggest area of improvement is learning how to layer some of his throws instead of throwing fastballs on every pass. The fastballs will however be an asset in some throws in tight coverage. .

I think Turner is more like Micah Parsons than Danielle Hunter. He's got more position flex than a three point stance and rush the passer guy. Yes gonna be a game wrecker!

If Jefferson is actually worried about who is throwing him the ball he should be at minicamp to judge McCarthy himself. If Jefferson doesn’t show then he is either comfortable with JJ at QB or his holdout is truly money/contract related.

Surprised people are not talking about how moldable he is. He has the basic prerequisite of a QB, I think KOC wants to really mold specifically for this team for years to come. Im also not on the house of starting him straight off. Tom Brady, and even Micheal Vick had to sit a year or 2. Lets give KOC some time to mold him and let B-FLO mold Dallas Turner.
