Cain vs Stipe doesnt make sense at all. Cain hasnt fought in two and a half years and just lost quickly on his comeback fight, and Stipe lost to DC and hasnt faught since(almost a year ago)... I would do a rematch of Stipe vs Ngannou for contender spot. Put Cain against Volkov or Overeem or Blaydes and lets see if he still has it cuz right now im not convinced he does.
Why would Stipe fight Ngannu again? He already beat him and he is still not getting a shot. The champ is too greedy and chickenshit to fight him and no amount of Ngannu fights is going to change that. The UFC needs to stop the WWF super fight bullshit and respect their own ranking.
It's a shame because at one point in time Caine vs Stipe for the belt was a dream matchup. But I agree, Caine vs Blaydes makes the most sense. Stipe vs Ngannou looks in the cards imo, but I'm not really interested.
@@cheezus4772 the champ already beat bro. He's really trying to make some money and Stipe ain't it. That fight didn't go past the first round and it was a knockout. An early night, we all got drinks, friend and family and then what? No partyl Put Cain up against they went night night but Cain didn't go to sleep. He's not scared
Stipe fought Ngannu and beat him. Cain fought Ngannu and got beat. Why the fuck would Stipe fight the loser? Its a lose-lose fight for him. Even if he wins he doesn't win anything if he loses he loses everything. Stop pushing that bullshit just because DC is too greedy and chickenshit to fight an actual fighter.
Cain isn't that at all I believe he hasn't even hit 40 I think it's a combination of the injuries he had and huuuuge ring rust and the fact that he was going against a fucking beastly devil in ngannou which I don't know why people don't give him enough credit the guy's incredible with a monstrous power.
@@SuperSohSo MMA is such a crazy sport. Guy A beats guy B, then guy B beats guy C, when C beat A. I'll watch any Cain fight. I just hope they don't match Cain up against the 🐐 Artem! In that case, RIP Cain.
Good idea. Cain will probably destroy Arlovski but since Arlovski is so well respected Cain willl get a lot of credit for it. That's if Cain doesnt blow his knee out in the first 15 seconds of the fight.
@@Jarxia that's just it. He should destroy Arlovski. Either way we will know for sure what Cain really has left. 900+ days off for 26 seconds didn't answer many questions.
Just make DS VS Stipe for the belt and the absolute DREAM of a match: N'Gannou vs Lesnar on the same card for the #1 contender, you still have a MASSIVE card and give Stipe the rematch that he deserves. Give Caine someone like Derick Lewis, specially after the fight with JDS, no matter the result, it's a possible massive win for both of them.
AAAAND Jonny Bones. Maybe Dana's waiting until after his fight to set up the trilogy. Doing it at Heavyweight would add some questions and it's one of a few fights Cormier has expressed that he wants...
Chael, there are actually 3 guys for DC ->(John Jones). They gonna do one of the 3 fights maybe 2. And i believe DC only has 2 fights left if not 1. 1 at heavyweight between either Stipe or Lesnar(And if he wins it, he won't be doing another heavyweight fight) and 2, at LHW with Jones(which has the highest chance for him to be his retiring fight).
I would like to see the Cain and Ngannou rematch. IMO, I think Cain is the fighter with the greatest ability to deliver damage, however, I also think Cain has a really suspect chin (he is susceptible to being knocked out) . Cain shot for the single leg to quickly. He should have dirty boxed with him until Ngannou was more tired. Going down low like that (going for the single leg) is too dangerous against Ngannou in the early rounds.
Dc vs brock Stipe vs cain undercard Dc wins relenquish the belt moves to 205 for jones winner of stipe cain fights ngannou for the vacant title You're welcome dana
Stipe should fight Francis again, the storyline is fantastic, Francis goes from world beater to so timid he is apart of one of the worst fights in mma history Knocks out Curtis blaydes, finishes Cain despite the injury. Francis can absolutely get in stipes head here, he’s been sitting on the sidelines since the dc fight and I fully expect Francis to trash him for it
In regard to the hw title,i think they go full wwe at the Jones fight. DC comes from the announce table and lays down the challenge for the HW title,jj accepts, maybe even a shove or two for extra dramatics.
Everyday there is talk of "holding up the division" yet DC fought almost 2 months ago and NOTHING has been booked or really even been in serious talks as far as the Heavyweight Title is concerned.
mr. sonnen! dope podcast brother. in my opinion cain vs. stipe winner of that rematches ngannou winner of that gets the title shot with DC unless its cain but i do not think it will be cain. these dudes need to earn their shot not win one fight and get it.. i think this makes sense sir. stipe wants his rematch with DC but ngannou wants his rematch with Stipe.. stipe hasn't done anything since he lost.
Cain vs Ngannu and Stipe vs Cormier on the same main card. That will sell in a heartbeat. Once DC is done at Poppey's - my bad, once he's no longer injured.
A number one Contender 2 years ago! Things change Chael people age and new Fighters emerge. Inactivity hurts like a motherfuker there's a big difference between a real punch and a sparring punch and he learned that, that night!
I think you hit the nail on the head. Brock vs Daniel, Cain vs Stipe/winner gets the next title shot. All fights I want to see too. I would love to see Stipe beat Cain and his best buddy Cornier and get his belt back.
I definitely don't want to see Cain vs. Ngannou again. Cain vs. Derrick Lewis makes some sense. If Cain can't beat a guy like that, then he's truly done and should retire. If Lewis wins, gives him some legitimacy, whereas now he doesn't have too much. Winnable fight for Cain, warm-up fight essentially, but also Lewis has that power. Cain vs. Volkov is also a decent matchup.
hahahahaha Mr. Sonnen, the reason Brock isn't telling you because your ESPN partner is a loud mouth who screwed up the Brock surprise last time..... MMAmnesia
Ariel is the worst it gets to the point where you start liking the guy again and then it’s gone. Trying to ruin the Connor fight for cowboy was beyond messed up
@@gscryinlikeabitch Chael defended him and it seems he was taken out of context, but yeah him, Beiber, and Dion are the worst things to come outa Canada
The Verdum fight was all altitude. Verdum prepared and Cain wasn't prepared for it. Look at the video footage, Cain is huffing and puffing before the fight even started. Oh, and Chael you have bad mouthed Brock regularly and I don't think he likes you all that much, LOL. 100% agree there's a problem with having any other fight for either guy than a rematch. But, I felt this to begin with Cain is done, and has been done for a while...he is clearly not recovered and really wants to return. I think his plan is to get back to the top once DC is gone but it doesn't seem his knee agrees with him nor his luck. I had a thigh muscle removed in 2007 started fighting again in 2008 but my leg is still mostly crap now and has caused injuries to my other knee and strain on my back etc. You never really come back from that. Cain isn't Dominick Cruz, he weighs significantly more and it takes a HW more to overcome leg injury because all the weight in motion. I should've went down in weight but nah, I rather eat. I wish the best for Cain and hope I'm wrong but if I'm not...retire and enjoy some good eating, Cain!
Yeah right. Cain didn't fight for 2 years and he fought the hardest puncher in the UFC. He should have gotten a tuneup fight like Overeem, arlovski(easy wins) or one of the other guys not the top guys yet
Alistair Overeem just needs to retire. He's been knocked out more than I have bought food at the grocery store. I love Alistair but how many concussions are enough. Lol 😅
althought its obvious that ufc is trying to make lesnar vs dc(and than dc vs jones or dc retire, i dont think dc wants to fight hw after lesnar)..i would looove to see ngannou vs lesnar, dc vs stipe, cain vs winner of overeem/volkov, blaydes vs winner of jds/lewis
Here’s what I think they should do: dc vs lesnar. That is happening I’m sure of it. Francis vs stipe rematch. Let’s see if ngannou can correct his previous errors. If he were to beat stipe it would also set him up for a massive title fight after, be it dc or lesnar who wins it. And if stipe wins he will get back to the title. Cain imo should fight either blades or Lewis. Both are top 5, coming off a loss but are title contenders. He needs to get back into that top 5. This would set him up for possibly reclaiming the title once dc is out, by retirement or loss.
I really don't get why fighters coming off of long stretches of absence, for whatever reason, need to fight top fighters. Cain v Francis would have been a great fight a few years ago but a ring rusted Cain gets knocked out within the first 30 seconds. Plus it was a short uppercut from a clinch, still a hard punch but imagine what other bombs Ngannou would have thrown that night have he not landed that punch. Give him someone he can handle; maybe not someone he would beat easily, but at least a competitive fight.
He's 36, which would be a man's prime if he were 5'10" 185 lbs and wasn't battle tested. At 6'1" and 240 lbs and fighting your whole life, you age like a Viking. I wanted him to win but as soon as i seen him weaving , like he always does, you could see the speed was gone. He even looked more squishy than he used too. Sad to see legend age but it happens. The mind is there, the body ain't. RIP The heavyweight🐐
Now I’m thinking about Woodley and Ben, if they won’t fight and Ben is the number one contender who does he fight? Better yet who would Woodley fight if Ben kept beating guys under him and left no one?
Stipe has to get a rematch with DC. I understand he isn't a huge draw but strictly for the integrity of the sport he should 100% have already had his rematch with DC. Do the right thing Dana, book Stipe vs DC and let the winner fight Brock if he wants to fight.
The ufc is clearly not putting up with people sitting on the sidelines anymore use Usman vs Woodley or adesanya vs gastelum as a reference point. All stipe is doing is stagnating his own credibility at this point if he went out there and knocked someone out he could be signed to fight dc right now
@@gscryinlikeabitch I get that in a way but at the same time any other champion of any division with the most title defenses ever would get an automatic rematch. I hate to use this word but Stipe legitimately Deserves a rematch as much as anyone in his position ever has
Yeah Ngannou skipping Miocic to fight DC could create a bit of a fuss, but Gastelum did just skip Weidman who beat him pretty recently for a shot at Whittaker.
I dont agree, i think, even if two Fighter are Friend, if they met in the conjonction of ranking … They should be forced to fight … the world should not be on hold for such matter !!!
i think cain and tai would be a good fight...both off losses tai seems down for anyone and has a great personality to sell the fight...just my initial thought
