When I was a kid watching the clone wars, the commando droids and magnaguards seemed pretty intimidating to me.

Funny enough droidekas were nerfed in the original battlefront games lol

Not so much scared of more intrigued by the EG-5 Jedi Hunter Droid, a droid capable of blade to blade combat with Jedi but never saw the light of battle outside the Clone Wars Lightsaber Duels game. It would’ve been cool to see them in other media

If I was a clone of the republic, then the droid I would be afraid of is the Bx Commando Droid Can’t wait for the new season of Star Wars The Clone Wars, anyone excited. :)

I liked seeing the anhialators return to film in the Book of Boba Fett, really displaying their destructive capabilities and how several elite fighters looked hopeless trying to take then down. Really good implementation by Faveru and Filoni.

You forgot the DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droid. It was a massive threat even for squads of clone commandos, and even Jedi were wary of them. A single DSD1 could take out small to mid-size vehicles with ease by simply smashing the vehicle with one of the spider's powerful legs, and it had powerful cannons. They were heavily armored, so anything less than explosives didn't really phase the damn things. As a player of _Star Wars: Republic Commando,_ I can honestly say fuck those things.

The B3 ultra battle droids are definitely my favourite. I think they could be canon as in the dark decipal novel Quinn lan Voss examines a repair part for one and even says “this looks like a repair part for a B3”

11:11 I had that comic when I was a kid and it came with a figure of that Droid with Padoine Anakin Skywalker. Even though those toys are pretty rare to find today I didn't enjoy playing with it so much because it was the only Battle Droid toy I had against a bunch of Jedis and Clones. Still have it.

There was one flaw with the Droideka shields tho. They couldn't use them when in wheel form. That's how Anakin and Obi-Wan once killed some; having them roll up and slice them while they were on the move.

Still can't get the sound of a Droideka rolling along and powering up its shield out of my head after all these years. Terrifying stuff...

I remember playing Lego Star Wars as a kid and one of the first levels had Droidicas. I had no idea how to beat them for a long time since every attack would just bounce off.

When I saw all those buzz droids under Anakins star fighter for the first time, idk why but it made my skin crawl

Only seeing them in ROTS I have until now always thought buzz droids were just annoying harmless droids someone invented but ended up roaming space. I never knew they were part of the droid army!

for the larger ones artillery can make mince meat of that and orbital bombardment is the way to go to deal with them as well.

I just watched S3E10 of clone wars and i dont think ive ever seen these droids outside of this episode but there were fake sweeper droids that were basically transformers that turned into giant super battle droids with machine guns on both arms. They seem scary bc a droid that seems harmless and looks like a roomba could just be going along doing its job cleaning the floor and a moment later could have a squad of clones dead

The Assassin Droids from the comics have always been one of my favourites

Honestly, I'd have thought that the B3 would've been higher on the list; they had kortosis plating as armor, which pretty much made lightsabers useless against it. In addition, they had built in gravity adjusters, which made force abilities such as push/pull useless if DIRECTLY used against the droid (but could be affected by having heavy enough things dropped on them). For armaments: they had 2 main arms with with varying weapons, 2 smaller arms closer to the body which usually had either rapid fire repeating blasters or flamethrowers, and shoulder mounted rocket pods (if I remember correctly) Did I mention that they were around 9 meters (27 ft) tall, which game them a distinct advantage in terms of not having their field of view obscured and letting them track enemies better as a result?

I’m glad someone remembered the Assassin droids.

I can tell by the silhouette, it's clearly the B3 Ultra Battle Droid. Love the Pokemon reference, btw. Also, I think the Scorpenek Annihilator Droid is right up there with the B3, and likely even above. After the Scorpenek and B3, I would say Magnaguards, BX Series Commando Droids, Droidekas, and B2 Super Battle Droids. Come to think of it, many of the CIS vehicles count. Regarding droid vehicles, I'd say the most feared were likely the: HMP Droid Gunship, Persuader Tank Droid, Homing Spider Droid, Hailfire Droid, Octuparra Droid, Dwarf Spider Droid, and Advanced Dwarf Spider Droid.

Magnas and commandos are my favorite droids.

My personal headcanon, which I'm sure is contradictory to actual canon, is that people don't actually /know/ how to make sophisticated computers or program them with any adeptness. I think they just make 'new' droids and computers by copying and modifying old models, which in turn were made from copying older models, etc, into the murky past no one remembers. They just scan old models, modify the parts of the blueprints they kind of understand, and feed the blueprints into production machines. Most droids develope quirks over time because their minds are copies of copies of copies with tons of spaghetti code accumulated from thousands of generations of optimization and bug fixes written by people who barely understand what they're doing. No one understands most of the ancient computer code, so instead of actually fixing most droid minds they just 'turn it off and back on again' by erasing the droid's memory

Those Magnaguards Droids from the old 2004 clone wars Were truly Far more deadly then the ones based on the movie and recent new Clone wars. Was really disappointed when they first revealed them and were just clunky and terrible. Even those IG-88 Drioids (yes i know not Seperatist droids) in the 2004 clone wars were amazing too bad the new clone were was Dumb down like crazy in order to make the Animation easier sometimes i think drawn shows are alot more intense compare to the animation today.

TBH, your standard, run of the mill clone won't ever see most of these, and would probably be most afraid of the simple B2.

I have a question...in the show the clone wars there was a few times were a force user would choke someone but wont kill them..just push the other force user away instead of finishing them off?

Honesty the super battle droid is a pretty intimidating in both the movies and the clone wars tv show we see how large and imposing these Droids are able to tank damage than their b1 brothers and if they got too close they could physically overpower a clone trooper strong enough to lift a trooper up by one arm alone.

C-B3 cortosis battle droids.... Cause covering a b2 with metal that literally nothing can cut or blow to pieces is a good idea for slaughtering mass amounts of infantry and Jedi. Great defensive potential too.

TBH i think Clone Troopers fear Droidekas the most, because Droidekas have Plasma shields.
