Lifty and Shifty are consistently assholes to everyone, including each other. 8:58 The name, art style, theme song etc. were all carefully chosen in order to masquerade as a kids' show. For what purpose (traumatizing children?) I'm not sure, but that's why it's called Happy Tree Friends.

It's called happy tree friends because the guys who made this started put making kids cartoons and while doing so would pass drawings and sketches to each other about cartoons characters in extremely graphic situations and well one thing lead to another and we have this as basically the biggest middle finger to all the sensorship crap they had to deal with

Hahaha welcome to early internet. I actually do like this series.....Its like Tom and Jerry with blood. Its stupidly dark on purpose. Fun fact: a Preschool teacher got in trouble because he used the characters in the preeschool with no idea where they are from.......minus the violence it really does look like a show like that...and that is the point. Shame on him for not doing research Lol love your reaction btw....your so dumbfounded.....nowadays I think a show like this would get you banned or something because everyone is so damn sensitive.....I love this show.....it is just one joke...but they do it so well....and with all the character's too....didnt even see any of my personal favs haha
