Here is What everyone is wearing in New York, Fall winter trends 2020. Get some huge fall outfit ideas and winter outfit ideas with inspiration on how to look cute in the cold but more importantly, how to find your personal style or how to dress when it's cold. I hope you get ideas on how to build a capsule wardrobe around the best coats for winter 2020. This series is about celebrating personal style and it's not about the glossy street style images, this is about how to dress on a budget, how to style coats, how to style jackets and how to style clothes for the every day person no matter your age, sex, race or aesthetic. This is about understanding how to have style and in some cases, how to look chic in unexpected ways while still learning how to stay warm too.

My grandmother was a seamstress and as a child I would venture into fabric stores and sift through boxes of buttons and fabrics. Fashion is extremely powerful from its effects on climate change to personal identity. There's a lot of pain and struggle in the clothing that I wear. Over the years I've gone on a journey to push the boundaries of my personal style using the streets I walk on as my runway. Aside from the video there have been many comments that have misgendered me as "guy", which is difficult to hear as a Non Binary Transgender person ,my pronouns are They/Them( prior to being filmed on that day I was at an appointment for HRT therapy). There have been many instances where people have provoked me for my choices in fashion especially when I wear a skirt: two truck drivers roll down their window to yell at me where's your pants, a person poked at me and called me a "f@g", two subway workers called me nasty. I know other LGBTQI+ people of color (including Transgender women/non binary's of color) have been attacked in areas of the city for how they identify and choose to express themselves. I'm happy to share more about fashion and my personal journey along with resources to be a better ally. With Peace, @mx.fierce .

She did not design the dress the original dress was made YEARS ago '"the Letty Lynton dress” designed by Gilbert Adrian. 1932. It is a beautiful dress, it has incredible sheen and its so flattering , it's every girls dream dress! glad to see how the strawberry dress did that again but nobody is talking about the org.

I started watching this series because I love seeing how people express themselves through clothing. But this series is more than that - it is a historical record of how people in NYC are not only surviving the pandemic, but adapting to thrive in it. I think the mix of casual wear (eg. mixing FOTL sweats with a beautiful coat) is an example of people embracing both the utility and the art in fashion. That mix is repeated over and over again in this video and I absolutely love it.

Love the multi-scarf guy. My little 7 yo daughter is doing that now! Love the broach on zipper thing...Love the woman with the S American garb. Love the Gucci suit guy. Love the all-black-garb couple and that Balenciaga coat! How fantastic! I have that same camera that my father-in-law gave me. Love the FlexSeal shoes! Love the whole episode, Karen. So well photographed/videoed, always. Love the little details like the colors on the streets matching people's clothing, the leaves on the steps. I miss my city and it helps to see it through your eyes...XO

I love that you are doing this. I live in Texas, but pre-Covid my friends & I travel to New York once a year just to shop & take in a Broadway show and fashion is what I always kept my eye out for while visiting New York

If you are going to do the tie dye thing, I suggest using RIT Color Remover and use it in the washing machine instead of the bath tub. The bleach will wear out your fabric very quickly but RIT will not put hioles in the fabric like bleach will. Just make SURE that if you use RIT Color Remover or bleach that you keep the window open while you are processing the fabric! Both very toxic to breath for any length of time.

Great video, Karen. It was interesting to hear the gentleman say he shops in the woman section for the best fit. While, currently most women are shopping in the men's section for an oversized fit.

This video just made my day, really! I am living in Germany and I am a textile artist, writer of novels, children`s books and retired Highschool- and Elementary school teacher. When I watch the people of New York and their approach towards dressing, embracing their own individual styles, it makes my heart sing. It makes me wonder, why it can`t be like this all over the world, where free expression is a natural and wanted and cherished part of life. It is so hard and troublesome to live this expressive life here where I live and I so often feel like the "Ugly Duckling" from the famous Fairy Tale. Where are all the swans? Oh, I see, they have flown to New York I guess, ;-) :* P.S. Love the guy with his little Teddy Baer in the purse! My son, who is 12 now, loves stuffed animals so much, that his collection exedes over 300 so far, if not more. He brings his favourite ones with him, wherever he goes. He can`t bring them to school, but he leaves his parrot in the car, for a travelling buddy, lol. When we go to the cinema (not in covid times of course ;-) ) he brings a whole backpack of stuffed animals with him and they always get their own seat. :-D I never disincourage him and I tell him, that if people laugh at him, they just don`t know any better and that they are scared and wish they could be as brave as he is. I think I will definetly show him this video today and the cool guy with the Teddy. Huggs from the Schurwald Forest and from my little Rose Cottage, Germany, Christina .
