Part of the Buxton Mountain Rescue's first response equipment is our Bag 4 which has our Casualty (sleep) bag, splints and other bits and pieces that Buxton team member Steve describes in this video.
Buxton Mountain Rescue, as well as all other mountain rescue teams in the UK, carry several different response bags onto the hill. Team members undergo regular first aid training, with extensive training to be able to safely and extensively use all of the search and rescue gear used by the team in the Peak District National Park.
The response bags carried by Buxton mountain rescue consist of:
Bag 1 which contains the medical kit.
Bag 2 which contains two bottles of Oxygen.
Bag 3 which contains Entonox
Bag 4 splints, casualty (sleep) bag and other items to make the casualty comfortable.
Bag 5 large casualty bag
Bag 6 vacuum (all body splint) mattress.
And a Mountain Rescue Bell Stretcher.
