This video is greatly appreciated, since I'm live in the U.S. and it's dominated be ESRI (which I'm slowly recognizing the rest of the world doesn't use or b/c it's too big of an investment). It's just there's not that much professors who know more than one package (that I know of). It would be great if you make more videos on this topic and perhaps give us a "flavor" of each one so we can get started in them. Many thanks!
I'm not Chris, but I could give you an answer. Yes, GIS is can be highly dependent on geography! It's more effective if you know an area before you map it out, so that there's no that much bias in your maps. GIS could be though up as a digitized version of cartography. :) Hope this helps!
