Sheet Set Tip: Take one of the pillow cases from the set and place the folded sheets from the set inside the case as well as any remaining pillowcases ☺
I think I'm a linen hoarder! I have so many sheets and towels but I do use them all. So...there's no room for toilet paper, cleaning products, etc. But I do have other places for those. I actually had a guest who commented on how neat my linen closet was so that made me feel good! It takes so little to make me smile!
I'm excited for this series, and also kinda surprised that I've reached this stage in my life where watching a linen closet be organized might be the most relaxing thing I've seen all day😉. Keep em coming!
Love the shoebox idea. With the sheets I laughed as I'm guilty of the sheets with no bed to match. I did end up donating. I also like the bin for the face cloths.
Thank you for talking about “what goes or should go in your linen closet” because where I come from, there’s no such thing as a linen closet ir pantry so I’m having to learn from others!
I started watching this hoping you would show how to neatly fold sheet sets, including the fitted sheets, then you blew my mind with the idea of putting sheet sets in boxes!! Mind blown yet again by Jen!! 💕
Excellent use of that space! I love organizing and seeing creative ways to use bins/totes! My husband knows that I get twitchy if we do not have a HUGE supply of toilet tissue (& all paper products)! We have 3 bathrooms and only 3 people, but I can breath easier when we are fully stocked up! Thanks for sharing!
Amen about the ventilated wire shelving. That stuff sucks! For the new house that we had built earlier this year, we told the builder not to even install it in most of the closets. Great organization video!
In the other closets where I took it out it was actually sticky and completely disgusting. At least in this closet they were in good shape. I did the demo myself and it was glorious.🤣😍
You are so right about having extras! I have a VERY small house, but I do extras of the toiletries because you don't know when your cat will decide your toothbrush is actually a chew toy!
Yes - definitely love that zipper bin/box. Had not thought about that for flannel sheets/beach towels/seasonal things. I am also loving that for the sheets for my guest room, because again - you only use those a couple of times a year. Gotta get some!!
I love how organized and neat your linen closet is! All the bins seem to really help to keep things separated by categories. In our linen closet at my house, we store the bedsheets in the zippered plastic bags that they come in when we purchase them.
I remember using deep, floor cabinet space in a kitchen in one of our houses because we had almost no closet space! Those cabinets are hard to use for lots of small things so it was great for the extra paper products, etc. We are in the house now with the most storage we've ever had now that the kids are transitioned(ing) away from home. I've kept sheet sets inside a pillowcase for years and that also helps corral the fitted sheet even though I fold a pretty crisp fitted sheet :)
Girl, when I saw the linen closet in this house I may have cried. I LOVE the storage in this house and I never take it for granted because in all our other houses I didn't have it!!
My linen closet is the space I organize and clean out the most often, it’s such a good feeling to open it and see it looking nice. But it’s always a struggle to stay that way.
My mom use to bring home the little hotel soaps and put them opened between the folded sheets in the linen closet. Sheets always smelled so good when making the bed. 💖
I love the bin idea! We also have those terrible shelves. Also I love the boxes going vertical because we have that extra top space! Oh gosh also just today I said - I think we have a pillow with a sham to a comforter we no longer own! #oneboxWednesday 👏🏻 Thank you for the great ideas!
Husband just walked through the door and says is that Jen 😂 he knows your voice . I organise always have back ups and then a phone call from one of the daughters ' have you got ? I have run out of. ' and son in law sent to collect supplies lol I guess they think they don't have to organise because mum does 😂
I like the "seasonal stuff" in some kind of bin / box / bag. We have beach towels a-plenty and having a bin for them is a great idea....(we have a community pool so those get used all summer long)
My linen closet is like 2’ by 7’ so these are awesome tricks to keep my closet organized. I start out with full sets of bedding for each room and fast as lighting, they’re all missing pieces to them. I’m excited to try these tricks. Thanks Jen 😊
Your linen closet is huge! I’m so jealous. 😂 Mine is weirdly shaped & the shelves are super shallow. I had to get creative with my folding to get my towels & sheets on the shelves.
Joyful Living with Jen Lefforge Our last house had a small linen closet (the door into it was tiny), but the shelves were lovely & deep. Plus there was a bonus larger shelved closet down the hall. But this house just has the one, oddly triangular closet with shelves that are very shallow. 😔 I wish I could do boxes, but they are just too tiny. We make it work tho. My husband laughs because my folding is super specific & if he does it wrong I refold. That’s the only way to keep it from all pitching off the shelf tho!
Such a good hair day!! Looked fabulous💁🏻♀️ Anyways! Great organization tips. Our linen closet is non-existent, but we did designate a whole shelf in our closet for linens and such!
Hey Jen. Such a timely vlog. We're starting a small remodel project w/ of all things, a new linen closet instal. I appreciate your thoughts on this as I too find organization invaluable.
I watched the whole video, even though I don’t have a linen closet lol. I’m glad you mentioned that at the end. In our first apartment, we didn’t have any storage in our bathroom so we used a liquor cabinet that we got on clearance from Ikea. 😂 We didn’t know that’s what it was. We just liked that it was like 70% off and were broken newlyweds and then put it together and were like “oohh” 🤣 Now we have a good sized house but still no linen closet! So we have extra towels in each bathroom and one set of extra sheets per bed in each bedroom. Extra toiletries in the bathroom (and we keep that very minimal) and extra paper goods in our basement. Sometimes I wish it was all together but everything has a home and generally it’s where we’d need it so 🤷🏼♀️
I am looking forward to the rest of this series. My linen closet is fairly well organized (although I have an overabundance of bath towels), but definitely will take some of your tips to make it a little bit better, particularly using a bin to organize face cloths.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge I actually have large drawers I should better use in the kids' bathroom. Hmmm... But what are your thoughts on where to store if there are bedrooms/bathrooms on multiple levels? Centralize or store near where they are used?
Definitely going to reorganize and add the sheets in the box idea. I feel like we have too much stuff in there after organizing our closet from your video I know what’s next haha “one box Wednesday” linen closet edition lol
I have several sizes of pillow case protectors, the kind you zip up. I would like some ideas or hacks for keeping the same sizes together when I’m taking them out of the dryer and folding them up. I’ve tried painting the zipper tongue with fingernail polish…like all Queen size is yellow, or using different sizes of safety pins near the corner of the zipper area. I’m going to toss the standard size or use as rags, then I have Queen and Standard/Queen. They are different lengths. They are all mixed up now because I wasn’t consistent in the labeling. I want to redo it for the last time!!!! I seem to have a lot of these!!!!
So I dont think I commented on this video...what ever is wrong with me! I think it was because I then got distracted and was thinking about how I'm going to organize my small linen closet that is kinda a makeshift thing. Cant wait to see more videos about organizing!
First off, your hair looks fabulous! This was a great video, but I really wish you still had little ones so we could see how you'd organize playrooms/toys! 😂
After watching this, I organized my closet shelf. I have been dreading doing this for a long time. I would have done my linen closet, if only I had one. :(
I love the sheets separated in boxes idea! Thanks again for sharing great ideas! Did you work at the container store? I've never been, but am thinking I must get there someday.
This was so helpful. I got to work clearing out my linen closet of all the miscellaneous junk in it that was not linens. Where do you keep your kitchen & table linens?
I have a husband who works a lot with grease, I have always dreamed of having all white towels does bleach get out grease and all stains? I have always shied away in favor of a gray color.
Lol lack of linen closet. I keep ending up in houses that dont really have one and wtf?? I have a sort of one in my upstairs guest bathroom. But it is angled. It is amazing when you are walking through a model home and dont notice the little things that should be there.
I have organization envy again ! I love the idea of the sheets in their own zippered boxes. I had previously organized them in multi-purpose plastic bins - but they ended up smelling like plastic :( I'll have to try the boxes next. :)
