Hi former wrestler here. I think it was the correct ending. Had the match gone on earlier in the night or even 2 matches before the main, I would say we get a traditional retirement. But being placed as the main event, you want that feel good moment to end the show. I wonder if sting wanted a traditional retirement but TK was like “the internet will eat us alive, sorry stinger, you’re going on last and you’re going over” lol

One thing you can say about AEW PPV’s is that every match is well built and seems important. Nearly all have a well rounded, thought out story behind them. I could do without EVERY SINGLE match having seventeen “ 1-2 OHMYGAWD how did he kick out!” because it takes away the believability, not everyone should be super duper Cena. But hey, most of AEW’s PPV are great. Love that there is another major company around. Without AEW, I doubt the WWE would have gotten a fire under their ass after the super boring 2012-2022 era.

Man, I.m 39 yo and I have to say, if not for Sting, I probably never would have gotten into wrestling. His face paint made him a real life superhero to my 6 year old brain and having him win his final match just cemented that the man will forever be a super hero. Thanks for all the memories Stinger!

The craziest spots were Takeshita reversing Oscutter into the Blue Thunder Bomb, Claudio reversing the Doomsday Device into the slam, Swerve’s top rope Lariat, and everything that Darby did.

I was a Lil' Stinger back in 1991 when I first watched Starrcade and first saw Sting. I followed him ever since and I'm so glad I was here to see him finish his career. Thank you Sting for the memories, thank you NWA/JCP/WCW for keeping my interest in wrestling during the 90s, and thank you AEW, Sting, and Tony Khan for bringing me back to wrestling now

Nah he kept it going for real after even brought Tony Kahn out to celebrate and it was so funny cause a dude behind me kept yelling "Fuck you tony you suck!" 😂😂😂. Then everyone came out and clapped for him and we all said thank you Sting and he said Thank you Greensboro and Darby spoke and Tony Spoke. Then the other Tony Spoke it was beautiful. I think you can find what he said afterwards on youtube

I was there live. Never knew who tf any of of them were. "why is everyone cheering for Will? I dont know this man but ive been missing the last few shows so maybe he returned from a year ago or so and aww this Japanese man is so far from home I bet he's pretty nervous especially with all the live Will is getting" those were my exact thoughts but Holy shit both Konosuke and Will blew me out of the water and earned my respect and most importantly my attention.

Of the four men in the match, the only one who really had anything to gain from winning was Darby. It wasn't the Sting vs Darby singles match that many of us were initially hoping for, but in a sense Sting still used his final match to put Darby over. Love to see it.

The main event was incredible but I don t think an hardcore battle like that fit to be sting last match. It seems clear to me that it was his precise decision but I wasn't thrilled with the choice, I would have preferred the match between him and Darby with the passing of the torch

I think being 65 facing the talent these days you know he wouldn’t have a chance, it was smart putting him in with CRAZY DARBY. That boy is NUTS!! But that is to Darby taking vicious bumps, it was very suitable for Sting to win. STINGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! THANK YOU STINGER!!

Seeing Sting retire as Tag-Team Champ was awesome and a perfect sendoff to one of the most legendary careers in the history of Pro-Wrestling. Plus with the right booking you can have the Bucks use this loss as a chance to get even more proper heel heat by immediately showing up after Darby announces that the tag titles will be vacated due to Sting's retirement and stating that due to their position as EVPs they are automatically crowned the new Tag Team Champions not only getting them even more heel heat that's not "Go-Away Heat" and having them essentially throw the Tag-Team Rankings into disarray with them stating they'll only defend the titles against teams that "meet their criteria for being proper Number 1 Contenders and proper Tag Champs" aka they'll hardly defend the titles aka hardly wrestle and if they do defend the titles it'll be against jobber teams in obvious squash matches, on PPVs of their choice, and if they do defend against a babyface team that has an actual legit chance at beating them they will use their position as EVPs to pretty much book themselves an automatic victory by massively stacking the deck in their favor, which will make the moment their reign of terror ends due to Tony Kahn using his position as AEW CEO/Owner forcing the Bucks to defend the titles against the Number 1 Contenders in a clean match with no shenanigans as TK himself pick the stipulation and basically ensure the Bucks don't stack the deck in their favor. Also certain heel victories at the PPV I'm didn't like as it pretty much ended the same way it usually does aka babyface is about to win but heel cheats to win by letting the goon squad all the work it's old and gotten boring real quick.

Best wrestling PPV of the year and it’s not even close. Thank you sting for an illustrious career, the perfect send off Ospreay is the best wrestler in the world right now in my personal opinion. The PPV was a banger, every match was good. Ospreay v. Takeshita is match of the year so far.
