I think overall it was a coaching failure. I love Andy Reid but coaching was just the driving factor for the loss. Those timeouts before halftime. The lack of energy. Terrible game plan with no adjustments. You shouldn't keep doing what you're doing it it's not working.

Man I have never heard so many excuses in my life. They had too many interviews, the accident, no downtime, no ref calls in their favour, crowd was one sided, etc. They got beat, plain and simple. They got a hiding.

The complaints about how the game was officiated is a slap in the face to all 49ers fans. The Chiefs were able to get away with anything and everything. The moment the Chiefs don't get the calls, it's an "oddly" officiated game. If you didn't complain last year, don't complain this year.

i tend to agree, but the major difference is in the 9ers game they just didnt call anything against either team. with the TB game they called 9 flags against KC and only 2 against the home team

@@isaiahh4108 As a neutral observer that may have more bias towards the 49ers than any other of these teams I agree with you. Those calls were bad against the chiefs and anyone with common sense knows that the only way to stop those speedy receivers is to hold them. Tampa was the better team though so they deserved to win but the officiating was pretty bad.

49ers fans all know their defense got away with tons of holding in the SB. This is just a hilarious complaint. In SB LIV, they were fairly consistent in not calling much for either team. In SB LV, it was clearly one-sided against the Chiefs for at least the first half of football. I’ve never seen so many announcers and former refs comment on it.

Tom is the YODA of Football!!!!!! Tom has been to 5 of the last 7 Super Bowls & Won 4 of them! Case closed!!! He's on a Quest for the perfect undefeated season & Tampa Bay is the most talented team he has ever played on...I don't see another team standing in their way at the moment.. there must be some ancient prophecy about a magical goat that makes Magic Rings appear... & Silver Footballs.... Anyone who wouldn't want to play with Tom is a fool... The Bucs were hungrier. That D looked like an unstoppable shark feeding frenzy with blood in the water. Tom warned them not to cry after the NFC Champ & save it for finishing the Job. It looked like KC has blew theirs after beating the bills. For all the wow trickery of running qb's, the odds of getting injured playing that way is inherently stacked against them having a long career. Tom knows that wasting his energy running around trying to make a play all the time is counter productive because he's not trying to catch his breath all the time which keeps him calm & aware instead of panting in panic after every scramble. This is his true Genius. The less you have to move the more focused & aware you are to make the right decision on every throw minimizing mistakes & conserving energy to finish the game & preventing serious injuries not taking risks on every play. Historical Note: QB's & Teams that loose to Brady in the SB don't make it back to the SB in the same decade. Accept old Kurt...

There was no adjustment on offense either. KC just stayed the course they set. Andy Reid said he did the game plan a week before. Could Andy not think on his feet, adjust his mindset, because of the distraction of his son driving drunk maybe killing a child? Whatever the reason, Andy just stayed the course WHICH WAS NOT WORKING.

Chiefs got hurt by their game plan: PEMDAS Passing Every Motherfuckin Down Amplifies Struggles How did they not have a deeper game plan for the Super Bowl other than let’s try to get a big time play or try 30+ yd passes every play. When they ran the ball it was effective but they dug themselves too deep in the first one and a half quarter to run the ball and let the clock be their biggest enemy

Chris, if you think Reid is going to put in a bunch of short pass plays, you haven’t been paying attention to Andy Reid. Going against the 49ers DL in last year’s SB, they kept going deep. In this SB, against the Bucs’ DL and with an utterly destroyed OL, they kept trying to go deep. Andy Reid (and Mahomes) believe that if the OL can block long enough, the Chiefs’ receivers will win deep (and hey, they probably would if the OL could block long enough); otherwise, Mahomes just leaves the pocket and their receivers will usually find a hole. I’d say there’s a better chance that they build up their OL and keep going deep than that they’ll add 100 short pass plays

You cannot ask an offensive line to block that long on every play. They're just not built for it. Offensive lines don't have the depth to rotate people in and out like a defensive line does.

@@nopeteys2424 😂 You can’t compare Mahomes first year starting numbers to Kurt Warner’s. It was a different nfl. You could jam WRs up to 10 yards. There wasn’t any protection hitting receivers. Mahomes walked into the fastest best receivers in the nfl. Prime Sammy Watkins was the No.3 option. Think about that!! Pro bowl caliber tackles. Mahomes said himself his nfl WRs get more open than his college receivers did. Like WOW what did you think would happen when his receivers were not running roughshod like wild horses? 😂 Mahomes is an overrated scrub. Can’t out think coverages. Not really and you can't blame the refs if your team also fails to: coach, block, get the ball out on time, get separation, catch first downs, catch TDs, make any adjustments to a failed scheme, or run the ball, like ever. Need I go on?

The cornerbacks were holding it’s not like KC has good cornerbacks that’s not even a surprise. And when they were offside on the field goal that was clear as day also. It just seemed odd because they were on 3rd downs and most were on the Chiefs. Chiefs still got dominated the refs didn’t decide that game!

It was said during the game that the ref crew was known for being strict. It is up to the teams to know this, and to coach it into their players. In podcast 241, Chris Simms said that it was PI in the sequence before the third touchdown, but he seemed to imply that is shouldn't have been called; why not? The NFL put one of their strictest crews on the game, that should have raised flags for the teams; the Chiefs have only themselves to blame.

Watching the Chiefs during pre game warmups I could tell something was off with them. They are usually goofin around with eachother and laughing but they all looked tense and they had a weird vibe. I think Andy Reid’s son’s car accident just put a bad feeling over the entire team and they didn’t play like a unit.

I love love love Chris Simms. He’s right 99.5% of the time. He’s wrong about Andy Reid adjusting his playbook and he would do something different in the super bowl if he could do it all over again. I live in the Philadelphia area and watching Andy Reid up and close for the years what we all know in this area Andy Reid does not adjust. He will do what he does NO MATTER WHAT!! That’s the knock against Andy. He does not adjust.

the only thing the Bucs exposed was a battered offensive line 🤣 If anyone with even average intelligence re-watches the game (or watches expert breakdowns), they’ll see that the Chiefs still nearly connected on a lot of huge plays. Even with arrogant, unprepared coaching, drops, partial officiating, etc, the difference was the Chiefs’ OL.

@@steviekeas I wouldn’t of matter what offensive line they had the bucs were the better team that night in every phase of the game , the bucs were more prepared and ready to play the chiefs thought they’d b able to come out and play like they usually do which is mahomes throwing the ball down field to hill outrunning everyone , the bucs took that away and they were lost , the better team won

On the penalties: the NFL knew what we know now. The life of a little girl & her family have been destroyed. Andy Reid gave an interview before the crash saying that he thought the refs were going “to let them play.” For Chiefs to win that game they would have to play strictly w/in the rules.

50:15 that TB offensive line wasn’t physical enough to convert a fourth and goal at the 1 yard line 🤔 That KC defensive line didn’t get pushed around there. Not even with Vea in at FB.

The play was made by a safety not a defensive lineman. So technically the O-Line did their job it’s the RB job to beat that one guy. If Fournette in the game that’s a TD all day long!

One thing we now know is that Mahomes sucks in Super Bowls! He’s played in two throwing for an average of 278 yds per game & has thrown for only one touchdown of 1 yd while throwing 3 interceptions. In the Patriots loss to the Eagles in SB 51 Tom Brady threw for 500 yds!

Todd's game plan was to contain mahomes and flush him if need, they have a top front 7 , besides that quiefs thought they were just going to roll in there and beat tom Brady ? , c'mon give em credit

@@jessewright8556 not exactly, they werent prepared for what was coming, the bucs defense was all over mahomes, what about the penalties KC commited, the shank punt? Drop passes, they were 22 points better then KC, bucs excuted to the T, they got exposed, Tampa was the better team, excuses excuses, injuries are part of the game

@@jasonrojas5013 whenever mahomes had time he was completing passes and the defense was no problem. All that other stuff consider. But we didnt get to see both teams at 100% and I would live to see a rematch when we do because I think it would be just like the first game

No way were the Chiefs overconfident in this game. They were dejected, and Chiefs fans knew it as soon as they deplaned. Fact is, they were negatively impacted by Coach Reid's plight that day and it showed. The Chiefs are caring people; the team is family. Timing, decision-making, and passion all suffered because of it. Chiefs will have the last laugh, however. In the future, no one will remember Tom's play in Super Bowl 55. Instead, we'll be watching clips of Patrick Mahomes' spectacular throws which will endure as long as football is played. Even if they weren't caught, Mahomes' miracle passes will be re-lived and talked about for years to come. Even the Bucs on the sidelines were blown away. "How did he DO that? #15 is a magician, man."

I disagree. there head just wasnt in it and the bucs were playing rlly good and just the better team. A trash team would not be able to go to the super bowl twice in row. Mahomes is a great quarterback i just dont think its fair to put them down because of one blowout
