I agree, 100%. Leslie is so respectful, always. Seeing the poor little doggie...just left there like that. That was quite heartbreaking. I can't imagine what kind of person could do that to their pet instead of cremating or burying it with the respect it deserves after years of faithful service. I think Leslie is very sensitive too, and was clearly as shocked as we were. What a lovely fellow : )

I found this so fascinating that I started to look a bit more into the owner of the house.. His name was Georges Weber, so the thing you said about them maybe being german is true, due to the german surname. Also there’s some kind of article I found online that’s preserved in some kind of historical library in Bavaria, Germany. He opened his pharmacy which specialised in homeopathy in 1835 in Paris. To this day it’s still a pharmacy and it’s still specialised in homeopathy. The address of the pharmacy was on that little bottle you showed in the beginning, even though you can’t read the end of it, with google you can find anything :)

At least that isn't happening so much in Europe.... just very sad to see the waste, sigh.

Yes, leather stretches when it gets wet. This is how we stretch leather shoes even today. Most shoes are not leather anymore unless you spend a LOT of money on them, so it's not something that we see often. For a funny story, I got a great pair of leather boots that didn't fit. So I spent the day with them on my feet in the kid's pool (they loved throwing water on my new boots) and then I would let them dry on my feet and stretch. It was a fun way to spend a nice summer day drinking beer and getting my new boots wet! lol The kids never forgot it either. lol

Found this online when I did a search to see what Platina was used for and thought it was interesting! “Chiefly a remedy for women, Platina is best suited to those who tend to be haughty and passionate. High expectations set for themselves and their partners are frequently not met, causing disappointment. They often dwell on the past, and may feel that others have deserted them. A sense of isolation may lead them to become independent and introspective. Narcissistic tendencies are accompanied by a feeling that they deserve the very best of everything. If this is denied them, they may become rather arrogant and depressed. Weeping may bring relief. Curiously, objects often appear to these people to be smaller than they actually are. Platina suits those with alternating emotional and physical symptoms. Any pain increases and decreases slowly. Secretions such as menstrual blood and tears tend to be sticky. The libido is often high. Platina is used for sexual and menstrual problems in women, and nervous-system disorders in both men and women.”

Reminds me of the big homes and farm houses in the US when the old folks started to die off and the families holiday is no longer held because the heart of the family is gone. In the country we still use some of that stuff you call old school.

Bros of Decay, nice decaying home, stuffed Wild Boar, Squirrel, Dog and the smallest Sleigh Bed I have ever seen. By the way, the second piano in the kitchen area was an organ. Organs always have knobs on top of the piano keys. I Enjoyed the video and all of it's artifacts, trinkets and very large creepy cobwebs. No 🕷 I figured something out, regarding the scattered papers all over the floors, and the mess. I believe the identity of the occupants was being erased and removed...whoever went through their personal belongings wasn't looking for valuables, but making sure the occupant's names, documents and photographs were completely removed. Whoever and wherever their descendants are, I hope they are well, and enjoyed their lives to the fullest, and that new memories were made. Thank you Lesley and William for the Adventure into time.💕

Nice tour of a once beautiful villa. Btw, the wooden shoe forms were not for making shoes but rather to keep leather shoes in their shape by inserting the forms to keep the shoes stretched in form. Such forms were used all the way up to the late 1960s. They still sell for boots. If you noticed the back or heel was adjustible

A lot of people specifically the people who appreciate abandoned explore videos understand "decay" is a natural process of life and it's because of this that life continues and that's why it's calle "the circle of life" because life does not end just ones span.

Once such an elegant place! The staircase was fabulous with the curvatures of the stairs & the banisters! The stairs were lovely & wide!!! The attention to detail that the wall paper was matched by the paint trim in all of the rooms! It breaks my heart to see that this beautiful furniture & some epic items couldn’t be saved 😞 Thank you for sharing this wonderful property with us! I truly loved it ❤️

Another amazing place. When we had a French property for 23 years, we used to play spot the abandoned house as we tavelled to our house.....every village seems to have at least one! Our elderly neighbours lived very much without a great deal of modernity. The blackened walls inside reminded me of an elderly farmer who lived across the lane from us......his kitchen walls were like that. The water from his well was pumped to his kitchen. He had aq bathroom made well before we bought the house and was never used. He died in 2021
