You're doing amazing man, running a RU-vid channel, new father, drifting, constantly building cars and random adventures. It's a lot on your plate and you are doing amazing bud. Happy to see you're not letting internet noodles get you down. Keep killing it and looking forward to your next event and adventure.
All those reasons you just mentioned is why he lacks skills. He needs to be consistently driving/drifting and focus on only that if he wants to be good or be a champion contender.
@@randydube1423 I see your point that time is needed to focus, but I also see Dan Burkett, James Deane Forsberg etc doing it just the same regarding their channels. Sam is still fairly new to this, and given time I think he will be great. Let's just wait and see how it turns out.
@@patb6703 Definitely given time he will become the driver he wants/needs to be no doubt there. Those other drivers you mentioned let's not forget they were driving years before they decided to make/produce RU-vid content which gave them that foundation of good driving skills.
Dude, I’m not into drifting. I started following you for the builds and car culture stuff. But I’m proud of you for continuing to push towards your goals and churn out good content, while being a new dad. Hats off to your wife as well. I think your golden season will come very soon. Cheers 🍻
Well you know, he always overrated himself from before FDJ. He talked about others being rookies to some tracks he visits often, he started to believe in himself a bit too much. Nothing strange there, lot of people do this. But it seems like that makes him less focussed on the competitive driving.
Maybe him getting a bit more serious. I dont know sometimes more b rolls less and less in front of camera. Not saying he isn’t at all serious but serious meaning focused not necessarily not having fun
@@claudedottin1312 well maybe not more serious but more realistic. I always feel like he believes he knows it all while I think if he didn't he'd improve in no time.
Sam. Don’t pay the haters any mind. I’ve recently been diagnosed with ADHD as a 40 year old man. Watching you for the first time I knew you are my people. You’ll get there and your doing a banging job mate. As a 40 year old I have learnt how to deal with haters myself, you just ignore them, the more you do it the better you get. If it helps, remember they don’t know bugger all about you and they are just sad they haven’t achieved anything like you have. Your still young and new to this and look what you have achieved. I’m living my “drift” life vicariously through you mate. I appreciate you. We all do.
Dear Sam. I know this will feel frustrating and it’s totally understandable. Competition in itself brings its own pressure not to mention all of the external factors. You mention the challenges in youth and the social media noise. Thing is, people hate on what is good. You are Sammit! The no 1 oversees drifter in Japan. You prove your skill every single day. I myself struggle to prove myself to the people close to me but you do it to the world. Sammit rips and Sammit only grows bigger and bigger. With that, it can feel a double edge sword to some but you embrace it. You have the team. You have all the tools but at the heart of Sammit is you, Sam. You did everything right. It’s not a case of luck or a mistake. You didn’t mess up or give up. It was just unfortunate that you were fighting an uphill battle due to the line. It hurts because you did everything right and felt so good. You planted all the seeds and didn’t get the fruit to use a bad analogy. You have nothing to prove. To sponsors or fans. They sponsor you because of what you do and how you do it. We follow you because of who you are and what you bring to us. Forgive me for blowing smoke but you are for sure too hard on yourself. I’m just one of your many fans who care. We are invested in you and not just for content. The only disappointment is that you didn’t get the fruit you deserve so there’s no disappointment attached to you. There’s no pressure or failure. You are literally living the dream by making it a reality. As a parting note, a little someone says something along the lines of “keep moving forward” 😂 Butt. 🍑 … sometimes In drifting you will only move sideways before you grip up. Right now your ripping sideways and that grip is coming with bigger waves than your livery! You got this mate. Be kind to yourself and your still only getting started. Take care. 🤝
Some of this is just getting more experience. I am sure all the veteran drivers have gone through what you have. So just do what you love and love what you do !!!! Also, it's awesome seeing you with the Lucas family all together at the events. Won't be long before Yugo is skidding the tracks with Dad !!
Don’t give up. That is the most important thing anyone has ever told me. Giving up will get your hopes down. Always power through and be motivated to do what you do and just be happy. I also have adhd and it’s just the same. Your content has inspired me to just be myself and live my life without doubts and fear. Everything that you have done is worth it. Love you man, keep up the good work.❤
Sam you are beginning your journey. Don't beat your self up. You have progressed more in a few years than most will in a career. Championships will come just continue to grind like you have and the wins and championships will come. You will get it. Keep living your dream!!!!
Dammit Sammit! We love you buddy. Proud of where you are and the accomplishments you have achieved. Its only up from here! We, your loyal supporters, believe in you and know you have this in you. Never be afraid or nervous about talking out the emotions you are feeling, you are human after all. It also helps those struggling with similar self image feelings realize its ok to feel this way sometimes. ❤ Bring on the DSV!
No, Sam never give up. I love watching your Contin, and it truly inspires me to not give up because I also have challenges with dealing with my ADHD and seeing you do everything that you do helps, inspire me to try to do better in my life and to manage it better.
WE LOVE YOU SAM!!!! YOU GOT THIS!!! I FEEL THE ADHD STRUGGLE!! I HAVE ADHD TOO! I understand how you feel with that!!! It is a constant struggle!! Remember to be kind to yourself!!! You have advanced so much in such a short time!!! Remember what you have accomplished and how far you have come!!! Every time you compete you get better in some aspect whether that is physical, mental, or better car setup!! You are an inspiration Sam!!! So proud of you for never giving up (that is your superpower)!!! You will only continue to be better!!! Your community believes in you!!!
Bro you literally got me into all of the car stuff, going to japan and just everything... Your content gave me purpose in life, honestly and I am glad I started watching you like 2 years ago... You are one huuuuge W and I love your content!
Dude you're a sick driver! Anyone sending hate in dm's hasn't achieved anything in life because if they have, they wouldn't be sending hate in the first place to someone trying to achieve their own life goals. Soo keen to see more wild comp driving from you mate!
DONT EVER GIVE UP SAM!!!! Especially on these solo runs. A 30 point run from cutting the zones is better than a 0. I see you getting in your head. Sam we all love you regardless of wins or losses. Just go out there and have fun
Honestly you are doing so great. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You have so much going for you and you will do better next time. Hug your son and Mae tightly and let everything else melt away. ❤ You’re doing amazing. ❤
As an ADHDer, I know the feeling, I am my biggest critic! It is not a bad quality to be self-critical. After all, it helps with self-reflection (which many people are not good at) to learn from your mistakes, but don't get stuck on them, otherwise you can quickly harm yourself. As you have already recognized very well yourself, don't go too hard on yourself, do what you love and success will come all by itself.
Sam, NOT giving up, is what your actual fans NEED! your living the dream for thousands of us!! Haters are just jealous little gits who wish they had your talent! your Drifting vids would be kinda boring without the drama and the progression! you got this dude!! We got faith!
Damn, you’re a great guy. You can tell by how you interact with people to your videos and the way you speak. I have ADHD as well and I understand fully what you mean having to deal with those issues with data days with people and life in general keep your head up keep yourself focus and doing what you’re doing because you’re doing the right thing. People are gonna hate no matter what you do.
Sammit, your passion for what you do is one of the many reasons I subscribe and watch your channel. You don't need anyone's approval other than your own.
Love that little segment in the end Sam Don't be too hard on yourself You've got this We appreciate you (if nobody does, count on it that I do, I'll be the "one" person you made a positive impact on) Thanks for not quitting, thanks for being a great role model to so many of us Most of all, thanks for being real, that's rare nowadays. Hope you see this Congrats on 700k, been here since 80k (before the time of the water Cup challenge at an Okajuku) watching you develop into such a skilled driver and person overall
Started watching this back when you were chucking around the skyline. There has been a ton of progress. Keep it up! 2 seasons in comp is just a start! Here is to many more seasons 🎉🎉🎉
The run may have been bad but you are learning sam, the fact that you continue to compete and never give up is awesome and very inspiring, haters suck but use it as a way to better yourself more keep up the amazing content (: us the fans love you and will always watch you (: we love you man
There will be a lot of ups and downs in anything my man. Here for all the content from the car meets to the vlogs to drift comps, don’t beat yourself up man we’re all rooting for you Sam
Whether you win or lose, I still enjoy watching you drift, build cars etc. The effort put into videos no matter what and the effort you put into things will pay off. Keep at it and do not let haters get to you, they aren't worth an ounce of your time or space in your head.
All you have to know is anybody hating on your skills is probably a far worse driver than you and is probably a lazy troll given they have so much time to try and make someone they don't even know feel bad. Keep living your dream Sam, you'll achieve your goals with the amount of passion and dedication you have. Can't wait to see what's coming up next. I was watching live at 3am to see your runs and was loving it! Seems like there's a lot of great talent in that category, an excellent motivation to keep refining your car and capabilities.
Sam you’re such a legend! You are learning from your mistakes as they happen to better your driving, just make sure you stay positive about all the criticism and issues. If you stay positive you’ll never stop improving!
Reflect on each of your laps, never stop improving, ALWAYS look at a way that you can improve your line and your score. Never settle on just 1 good lap, keep trying to do better and send it harder!
congrats on 700k hope you keep up all this hard work up. Remember the more you crash the more you will learn and the more you learn the more better you will get. So I wish you lots of luck in the near future.
There will always be haters and just remember the ones who wait to hate are the ones who are depressed in life. Your doing great man! Every driver has the downs, its how you react to those moments is what makes you a great driver. Stay motivated and keep doing you.
You remind of that kid down the road, who always rode their bmx downhill and fell down, or did jumps on their skateboard and fell on their ass. But no matter how many times he falls he’s always outside again tomorrow trying something new to get better.
We love you Sam ❤❤ Keep your head up man. Got to give yourself credit man. You've came along way. 🎉 ive been watching your videos for a solid year and a half now. You are truly a genuine person and a solid man. Your videos bring joy and happiness to my life and i want to thank YOU for that
keep you head up sammit, this is going to be an important part of your life and where your drive is gonna go harder and become more hungry! dont ever stop!
Hey Sam! As someone with ADHD I can really relate to a lot of the things you're saying in your debrief. From my personal experience, and I can see you do it too; when I start to think too much about something and hyperfocus.. that's what puts me out of the groove and makes me mess up. I find I do best when I don't overthink it. The best analogy I can think of is that you don't think about blinking or breathing but when you do, that's all you can think about. Your first run looked awesome but it look like you got to far from the last few clipping points by transitioning early. I think in the second run like you said you just psyched yourself out. I hope to see you do well in the next few comps with all that you're putting into it. Don't pay these haters any mind, they would choke if they had the chance to walk in your shoes. I know it seems discouraging but you have come a really long way since I started watching your channel. Keep your head up and you will get where you want to be one of these days!
Sammit I have been watching u for 3 maybe 4 years and I've seen u do so well we have all had those day's where it's hard but you just have to get back up on your feet and keep trying it's my 12 th bday today
Sam, you have the skill and you have the car now. Keep that attitude of not giving up and you will make it. Yeah your competitors have experience, but you can overcome that with the hunger that you have. The hunger that allowed your ancestors to survive in a land that has so many ways to kill you. Dont give up, and you get dinner. Give up, and you are dinner. I know you can get dinner, and you will!
As someone who has watched you from when you were working in your driveway to where you are now, I have to say a few things to you, even though you don't know me. 1) we ALL love you and what you do, and who you are. 2) you are a great husband and father. Priority #1. 3) to quote Daniel Ricciardo. F.E.A. 4) DONT be so hard on yourself. These things happen in life and it's how we all learn... its never about getting knocked down. It's HOW YOU GET BACK UP. You got this, and we got you... so fly and grown mate. Love from Aus.
Hi sammit, I am a longtime lurker and love all of your content. Watching you from the start with your chaser is so freaking awesome. It's like you're living the dream of most of us who are watching. I can understand your pressure and feelings in such situations. But I think you should try to focus more on having fun drifting. And don't try too hard to not make a mistake. It will ruin your feeling for driving. You drive really well; I think it's just that you're overthinking. It's sad that you missed it this time, but you know what? Next time, it will be better. Try not to overthink it too much. We all trust in you! Don't focus on the haters, they are all jealous. Keep it up, sammit!! You're great!
Enjoy the ride and everything will fall into the right space mate! Chin up and fight on. Don’t let the pressure get to you and trying too hard. Do your thing and relax
Imagine going on the middle of your second season of FD and you haven’t event placed top 16 yet. This is the true definition of run before you can crawl. He couldn’t even win a grassroots event 😂
Never quit, even if you think it’s zeroing out. There is always the chance it was ok and you can get something out of it. You get to do something you love to do! That is awesome!
The negativity is always a great motivator. You do deserve everything you have worked for. Not qualifying doesn't make you a bad driver. Actually, what I think makes you a great driver is realizing your mistakes and knowing what you need to work on. It's your first real season in FDJ2 with the car dialed in correctly. As for being hard on yourself, just remember we are our own worst critics. We beat ourselves up for the most minor things that most other people won't even notice. Keep your head up as you always do and keep making progress. YOU GOT THIS!
Straight facts at the end. You're the most humble and real youtubers I've ever met. Down to earth and don't pretend that you're perfect It resonates with all your real fans so keep it up
I relate so much to the crowd anxiety but even god had haters my friend. Props to you for talking about personal stuff your one of the real ones that's why we love ya man keep it up practice makes perfect Haters Gone Hate ✌️
*Sammit, you're amazing. F the haters. Every single person on this earth is different from one another. It's their fault if they don't realize and can't see how unique every single person is, including you. Be YOU. Use the negative energy to build yourself up if you need, but don't forget you have plenty of people here FOR you.*
It'll be alright man, be patient with yourself and use the words of your peers. We all just blow it sometimes, but that provides a lot of opportunity dor growth and things you can throw in or even subtract from your process. Keep doin that thing bro 🤘🏼
After watching this video your interaction with mad mike makes alot more sense. You are a beautiful human sam, It is always easy to see the hate in a mountain of love. Especially as a content creator. Don't beat yourself or your team up too much, you attract great people they have your back for sure. Also YOU DONT SUCK!
Firstly, YOU DO NOT SUCK! I'm 51, Autistic with bonus ADHD. Literally everything you say about your lived experience as a neurodivergent person resonates strongly. My brain can't handle using social media so I have zero idea how you manage it. Your wife reminds me so much of my partner in that she helps me negotiate life and supports me unconditionally. Never apologise Sam, you've done nothing but share your life and journey in a way that is engaging, educational, wholesome, and generally free of the rubbish clickbait and antics that so many creators rely on to get views. Stay humble. Anna
People who hate on you on social media or whatever for the pettiest things are the lowest of low, bottom of the barrel human beings. Don't listen to any of it Sam, you're killing it. You do so much, you have a new kid to care for while juggling everything you're doing for your content. Keep doing you, the vast majority of the us who watch you love seeing what you're doing. You're incredible bro, keep pushing.
So proud of you bro & stoked to be part of this team. Milestone day & milestone video, I can feel it. So encouraged by your story. & can’t wait to see what’s next. Let’s do this.
The haters are the jelous people wishing they could do what you do everyday, just keep moving forward. I been been watching since 2017, and you have come a long way sammit. NEVER GIVE UP!
Never give up! It's hard to watch the heartbreak come through your face. You'll get this, and once you do, everyone better watch out! If people hate, it's out of jealousy! You're doing things many only dream of! We'll keep watching you, win, lose, or whatever! Keep it up!
The absolute hardest lesson I've ever had to learn as a driver/biggest realization. Was understanding that come race day, headspace outweighs preparation. Love seeing you grow as a driver/person. This is what being gearhead/carguy/driver is all about, finding growth through experience. Keep pushing yourself man!
@sammit at the end of the day, you need to never give up. Even when you feel you have failed or got a zero in an event. It’s not over until you say it’s over!! Stay strong brother love from us aussies
Dammit sammit. You did amazing. Look at your first run out the box and hit all the points perfect. Screws the haters . Your always gonna get them. It's a learning curve which is like going up a wall . Look how far you have come in the last 3 years. So proud of what you have achieved in drifting and personal life. Don't be what everyone wants you to be. BE YOU. Good luck with the future rounds. Wish I could be there to give you some support lad. Such a real good hearted amazing person. 🎉🎉🎉
It's all good sam keep doing you're thing bro we all make mistakes and we all learn from them ur gonna do better next time ur a drift legend bro ski and keep on sliding 🤙🏾
Glad you are achieving the snap-and-clear mentality and focused on the next round. How you are overcome this low point will define the content of your character. Contine to keep your head up and focus on that goal, but at the same time as a father enjoy the time with your son (time flies). Been watching and subscribed from the beginning Keep at it Sam pullin for you.
As a welder, I’ve had jobs where you have to test in every single day, and there are some days where you simply don’t work. A million reasons why, but everyone has an off day bro. You have a beer, you clear your mind, and you kick ass tomorrow.
You got this. You have came a long way. You got the car dialed now its just the internal battles that I am sure all of the driver deals with. Just think back to where you were a few years ago. You are now a father (Happy Fathers Day), have what was once your dream shop, Employ several people and allow them to support there families, and entertain millions. Your doing amazing. Keep pushing forward, but do not forget to look back once in a while and appreciate how far you have already came.
Sam you don't have to explain a thing to anyone mate.. everyone trips and falls on their path through life. What defines you is how you pick yourself up and carry on down the road!! Keep up the awesome work mate. We are all behind you 100%.
Bro with everything going on in your life plus being a new farther, ya smashing it bro. Chin up move forward to the next one and F-ing smash it there as well. Chur bro
Dude forget the negativity. You’re an inspiration to so many people you can’t even really comprehend it. I have poster number 70 signed by you. It hangs in my tattoo room so every day I have inspiration to work hard to hopefully be able to build a car as nice as any in your shop. Living in the states any s15,s or r chassis is expensive. You have accomplished so much. Never forget that. A lot of us are working long hours and saving for many months for parts you have been gifted, or sponsored with. Keep you’re head up and keep competing. I hope to be able to continue to watch you in fdj, as well as any other event you are involved in.
"Study and practice hard in order to perform badly" was an useful teaching my Piano instructor gave me: don't feel depressed and disappointed but put in even more effort to reach the result you seek!
How sad to find the time to send a screen shot to try and upset someone. ADHD can suck making mistakes can suck but learning from it and using the way your brain functions as a super power just show Sam how far you've come keep it up mate!
You really gotta have nothing going on in your life to waste time trolling other people. Like your life would have to be so void of any productivity and sense of fulfillment to waste minutes personally dming someone just to try and bring them down. Hope those trolls can find some love in their pathetic lives and change for the better.
Don’t apologize don’t feel sorry remember your competing and competing means you either win or lose just don’t lose sight of this, your doing what you love doing and that’s driving ! Just have confidence in the love you have for the sport and everything will fall in place ! You have the opportunity of a life time make the best and no regrets leave it all out on that track 🎉cheers mate
I don’t exactly know what happens behind closed doors, but the only thing I can think to say man is practice practice, seat time in the FD s15, and don’t let your nerves get to ya being in competition. Think of yourself being alone in the chaser and bust it out my man! You’re still killing it! My brain could never handle all of the different tasks and everything you have going on with your channel as well as keeping up with Formula drift and having a kid is a lot on your plate and you still find time to get it all done with.
I've watched you since you sold the white R34. Then when you went to the R33.4, seeing you work on the cars in the driveway, to having your own shop now! You have come along way Sam! Life will hit you and sometimes we just have to take it and learn from it. From a highly quotable man once said "haters gonna hate, ain'ters gonna ain't!" At least you're doing it Sam! These people live off of making others miserable because they hate themselves or aren't happy with not having what you got. Keep up the motivation and can't wait to see you on the podium!😊
Ignored the haters, you got fans out here bro that want to genuinely see you succeed.... We are hear for the long haul bro..... Keep driving and keep the content coming!!!!! Peace from SoCal....
