Was there in 1997 and did 16 miles around island on bike and was just there last week a few days...I think the big rocks look beautiful. This was a wonderful documentary to see. Thanks so much for sharing this. a big Thank you to all and those beautiful hard working horses for all you do there
We would have to agree! Mackinac Island is very unique. We enjoyed the beauty and history of the Island while fixing up the road for others to come and enjoy.
My great grandfather bob hume care taker of The island in marquette and lived in the house that was built for he and my grandmother great agnes hume peter white . He still holds the longest record of being employed by the city of marquette .they called on him to layout The roads in mackinaw island..My. Great grandpa holds the record of fifty four years He passed Away in 1938..
So no cars gas/diesel engines until the road needs repair? Horses, wagons, picks and shovels that you could have used, quite hypocritical. Everything is to gain tourist dollars This video is just another promotional sales pitch.
