In this video, I tell you the story of what happened on Yom Kippur. It a story of pregnancy loss as I had a miscarriage start shortly after Yom Kippur began. I will tell you the story of the entire pregnancy with a focus on Yom Kippur when the miscarriage occurred. I will talk to you about how Yom Kippur affected my pregnancy loss including the fasting. I will wrap up the video by telling you some things that I am grateful for from this experience and talk about how we can be thankful for anything based on my beliefs as an Orthodox Jewish Mom.

I am almost 70. My first 2 pregnancies resulted in miscarriages. They were some of the lowest days of my life. I know exactly the profound sadness especially when they are desired pregnancies. I still remember the emotions I experienced. I then went on to have 2 healthy children who are everything a mother could want their children to become. Having kids doesn’t negate the pain of miscarriages. Many people think otherwise. So gentle kind hugs from one mom to another. I pray you never experience this again.

I am 70 and also had two miscarriages back to back before I had children. There was a real sense of loss. I could not carry on a conversation without crying. And most people did not really understand.

So many hugs. I lost a child at 22 weeks. It was the hardest time in my life. 4 years later i was blessed to be pregnant again. He was born at 23 weeks. And after 6 months in the nicu we were able to bring him home. He will be 7 in October. Im not religious but i do believe in G.od and i firmly believe his big brother was and is still watching over him. ❤

I had two ectopic miscarriages and could no longer bear anymore children. I almost died the second time. 1996 was sad for me and I laid it all out to God. One year to the date we welcomed my son through adoption. God gave us th strength to move forward. I still think about my two babies. I know I will see them in Heaven.

Oh honey, I didn't want to guess.. but I saw it in your eyes. I have had two miscarriages, and I've been a nurse on a high risk pregnancy unit, and I recognized the look in your eyes. @@jaroffireflies I was also the type that took alot of tests and watched the pregnancy tests get darker. It's such a state of anxiety. But I relate so much. I had my kids young, so it's been 15-20 years since I went through all this, but the feeling is still close to the surface even after all this time.

Oh, my dear. I am not Jewish but I am a woman who has been down this road. I remember telling a young woman I worked with years later who had also miscarried that as close as she and her husband were, a miscarriage is something that really, only another woman can fully understand. And we also understand that it's OK to mourn, to cry, then to pray a lot and pick up our feet and keep stepping into the next day and the next. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had several miscarriages many years ago but finding your story today, on my 79th birthday, I remember how painful and heartbroken that left me. Back in the day there were even fewer women to talk to about the trauma. Quite frankly, after reading your story I realize right at this moment that I have never dealt with the grief or worked through processing any of it. When you said that your baby had only known being held by his momma, that really touched my heart. It gave me comfort, to realize my 3 angel babies knew I loved and wanted them. I'm thankful to God for my son I was able to carry to term. Prayers and positive thoughts from S.E.FL.

Another comforting thought for me was this was too my child, only that I didn't birth and that child will be greeting me in heaven after I die. I sort of imagining someone that looks exacyly like me.

Dearest Chana, all of my sympathies, thoughts and prayers go out to you and your husband too! I can only imagine how hard it must have been.. Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing this hardship with us.. I feel like too many women go through it but don't feel like they can talk about it or feel ashamed. I am struggling a bit with what to say, as I am Christian and I really don't wanna say something wrong or something that you don't find comfort in. 😭So emotional to watch you speak about this. You are so strong and brave to talk about this and I am sure this video will help so many. I struggled with infertility and miscarriage in my first 6 years of marriage and it was so hard to go through that time alone. It was definitely not talked about which made it so very isolating. Chana, my heart aches for you. I lost my first 2 babies and was pregnant with twins the 3rd time. At 17 weeks I lost one twin. The doctors put me on bedrest and I was able to have my first daughter at 34 weeks. I was so hyper focused on bringing the other twin into this world that I barely had time to mourn the other baby. I ended up having one more daughter and could not have anymore children. I am so grateful for my daughters but still feel the emptiness of loss. You can't help but wonder how your life would have been different with more children. I am so very sorry for your loss. As soon as you took the candle out I started crying for you. I feel your pain.. i was crying watching this, thinking back. I had a miscarriage over a year ago, 3 months before I got pregnant again with our beautiful daughter Eliyana. I made a video about my experience and the most amazing response about what happens to a baby that was miscarried, given by a rabbi. It gave me so much strength and peace. I know this was over a year ago now, but I am so sorry for your loss. I don’t have kids and have never been pregnant, but when my sister-in-law was trying to have kids, she had a miscarriage too. My husband told me and I just broke down crying. I’m actually crying now to, and I don’t even know you. But I feel I know you do your videos. I know nothing can feel the place of a lost child, but I’m glad you had a fourth child. Perhaps you’re a little fire fly gives you comfort and joy.

Oh Chana, I’m so sorry. Thank you for sharing, it’s a great help to other mothers. My only pregnancy ended in miscarriage (23 years ago) but God sent us the perfect child for us from China. I had a nice cleansing cry with you. You are right - God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

My first child was a boy, full term weighed 8 lb 10 oz and passed away at 2 days old ! It was devastating but we got through it with Our faith in God and his comforting presence! Don’t get me wrong we had a lot of why’s and a ton of tears ! I know your pain and I pray for peace and comfort that only God can give ! 💜🙏🏼💜🙏🏼

I'm so sorry to hear your story. Those of us who experienced miscarriage have a special sisterhood. It can be really traumatic and it takes time to heal. You never forget the child you were "expecting" no matter what the length of your pregnancy. (30 years later, I still think about it from time to time.) Sending you much love !!!

I had 5 miscarriages, so I totally understand what you are going through. (hugs) I am so sorry. It's very painful, emotionally and physically.
