Andy Gibb was absolutely fantastic!! Such a sad and tragic thing. Too bad he couldn't get the mental health help he needed, back then things were very different compared to now. RIP Andy Gibb. You are not forgotten ❤️

So many of the most talented people especially musicians have had troubled souls and died prematurely. Andy was a vision of loveliness, that was only topped by his natural charm and kindness. RIP beautiful soul.
The music that were playing in the generations before today's are the kind that can most likely be written, composed and performed by people who are emotional, sentimental and romantic.
Just the saddest when someone can't see the value they have. It was the times too and I can totally relate. I am inspired by what he went through in his short (but one of many lifetimes) life.♥️
Yep, I was so in love with Andy Gibb as a Freshie in Highschool! I too was going to marry him...got to see him perform at "Chicago Fest" in the early eighties...He was so gorgeous/handsome and talented....he's been truly missed.
He was my first crush. I absolutely loved him. When he passed away I was so devastated. Being such a young girl. I couldn't understand why because he was so young. He had so much more life to live. RIP Andy ❤️❤️❤️🕊🕊🕊🕊
It was his cocaine habit which ultimately took him. His heart was weakened by the constant cocaine abuse and that's how he died. The brothers didn't want to tarnish his memory which the facts and quietly called it a medical episode of sorts. I understand that too, but you can't get away from the truth that easy. He is sorely missed. A huge talent and one that could've given him an amazing career. But it wasn't to be. At least we have the memories.
Cocaine seems to be the worst of the drugs, it speeds up your heart rate and makes it work harder than any downers. Heroin is a drug that people overdose on but it isn't the same a speed. I really hate when people with so much going for them fall into drugs, alcohol, and that cycle of misery. Your feelings of insecurity intensify and I Andh had not felt that he needed to compete with his brothers who loved him. So hard to understand why he could not see how talented and handsome he was. I remember missing him greatly after he passed, so sad.
I worked 6 years in the medical clinic for a County Jail, and now have worked 3 years at a Methadone clinic. MENTAL ILLNESS goes hand in hand with drug abuse. The County Jail and State Prison system, and Methadone treatment clinics are unable to provide the necessary treatment for the MENTAL ILLNESS that is the root cause of most drug abuse. And most people don't realize that most drug abusers don't want MENTAL HEALTH HELP, they'll tell you that they want the drugs more, no matter how much it costs. And the taxpayers are the ones who are footing the bill. Welfare, Social Security benefits, Medicare and Medicade. Jail & Prison costs. Lawyers for those who break the law to support their abuse, law enforcement officers, Correctional Officers. Ect.
I loved Andy, he was an amazing talent & beautiful soul. Sadly he was born in a time where depression, anxiety & mentL health was not recognised to be a major issue and drugs often offered in the professional circuits to be the answer to cope, when we all know it feeds depression. Too many stars die from this. Great story, the person talking could sound a little more compassion in his voice instead of just reading the story off a peace of paper. Was very sad when Andy died. He had the makings to be a huge success. But sadly not to be...
I had wanted to marry Andy Gibb when I was about 11 years old. LOL! He was such an incredibly handsome young man, with a velvety, passionate singing voice. Many of his posters, wearing tight gold spandex pants adorned my bedroom walls. My heart was broken into a million pieces when Andy died just a few days after his 30th birthday. Gone -- but never forgotten.
I am one of the fans of Andy, good looking man, great performer, I love his voice, I love the way he sings, I was sad when he passed away long time ago, such a talented man.
What a disturbing question! But to answer it: Andy died 34 years ago suffering from myocarditis caused by years of cocaine abuse that fatally weakened his heart.....that's what is! Wouldn't he have sucked in cocaine like powder sugar.....he most probably would be still among us and sing with his brother Barry!
a lot of people want to believe that lie. Doesn't make it true. Barry said she saved his life and stayed with him a lot longer than anyone else would have.
That's why his wife Kim left him & went back home to Australia pregnant. When your wife leaves you for the same reason, then you really can't blame it on a girlfriend you were only with 1.5 years.
Hindsight is always much clearer. The older brothers all experienced sudden fame drugs and alcohol. By the time Andy could have become the 4th Bee Gee his brothers knew what fame can do to a person. They should have included him in the group first and once he learned to deal with fame and fortune there would still have been time for a solo career. He might have survived.
Exactly my thoughts. His solo career made him feel he had to compete his brothers. 1 vs 3 had to end bad 😢 He should have been together with them as a member.
Andy Gibb was the same age as me. i remember seeing Andy perform at a small but famous club in Hollywood back when he was just getting popular. I loved his music very much and always thought he was so cute. Fame is not for everyone. Actually I think fame destroys most people. Rest in peace Andy.
Thank you for sharing this. Our family was deeply attached to the group as well as with Andy. It broke our hearts to watch each one leave us. They gave us a lifetime of song and wonderful memories!! Rest In Peace, boys. We will always love you!
My heart aches for *Barry* . I can't imagine how lonely he must feel not having his brothers beside him. They were are and will always be the *BEST MUSICAL* *GROUP IN HISTORY*. #PureRawNaturalTALENT.
The music industry is NOT something people should strive to get into. Hollywood as well. So many insecure, unhappy, depressed people seeking attention bc of personality disorders. Rampant in those two career choices.
It's really important to be grateful for what you have while you're being grateful for what you don't have even if you just got a sleeping bag in a park bench you got more than a lot of folks if you really think about it it's a heck of a lot better attitude
So Heartbreaking. He was a Beautiful person. You could tell he had a heart of Gold. I also know he died of a broken heart too. God Bless sweet Andy he gave us so much. We will always love him. I will always love him. ❤️
Victoria Principle should have stood by Andy regardless of what he was going through. She claimes to LOVE him but she didn't LOVE Andy enough to be his ROCK. She broke that man's heart and then went on to live her life. I lost all respect for her a long long time ago.
@@Jaisee14 It's also not like they were together for years, but not even quite a year & a half. Don't forget, that's why his wife Kim left him & went back to Australia is he wouldn't stop using drugs....& they were actually married.
Barry was the Queen bee of the brothers. All 3 younger Gibbs had substance abuse problems which led to their demise. Unfortunately for Andy, drugs were introduced to him at a young age and fell head over heals with them. What a waste of life! Too bad.
I still have my childhood albums to this day and I am almost 53! I had such a big crush on him! I had T shirts with him, Leif Garrett and the Cassidy boys especially Shaun that I remember to this day! Andy’s life was sad and such a loss due to addiction.
He was so exceptionally talented, but felt inferior to his brothers who had had such ridiculous success. It's worth noting of the top 10 songs of the entire decade of the 70's, four of those songs were by the Brothers Gibb: three were the by the BeeGees and the fourth was "I Just Want to be Your Everything" by Andy Gibb. It's said that his brother Maurice never recovered from Andy's death and began drinking heavily which resulted in his own untimely death.
@@Godwinpounds4333 WHO ARE YOU,I SAID WHO ARE YO WHO WHO,WHO ARE YOU WHO WHO ,I REALLY WANT TO NO WHO ARE YOU, WHO ARE YOU WHO WHO, WHOOOOOOOO ARE YOU ,
God knows the truth why this young man passed away too early. There is so much evil In this world we Living in. I pray all the evil Will be taken away. We are Living the Great awakening.
Well, the first thing that hurt him was a lack of parenting. The “good” parents who everyone holds in such high esteem sucked. They weren’t parents at all. The dad was in alcoholic and a gambler and the mom was just a Village idiot who let her kids run around Manchester to the point where they were asked to leave the country. And then in the interview this is where I came in, she talks about them setting fire to a butcher shop, the twins and Barry and she thought it was fucking funny. She was a horrible mother. And they let those kids do whatever they want. They let them drop out of school. To support the family because the parents were losers. Ne’er-do-wells. And this one says what happened to Andy Gibb they let him drop out of school at 13. Where were the parents. Again they were busy following their rich sons all around the country and the world.
Whatever you think of Mrs Gibb, that is extremely disrespectful of you, besides compared to a lot of todays rotten drug addled parents she was mum of the bloody century! The Gibb parents remind me of my grandparents, not just in looks but in personality my grandfather was very similar to Mr Hugh Gibb in his demeanour and attitude yet I still adored him and my grandma. We all have our faults.
Andy was such a good talented man. i was in high school then. all his song are purely dedicated to me of my Military suitor. an American AirForce based here at Clark Air Base Philippines.. Andy was very much popular here in our country the Philippes. ilove the Beegees so much ..they did inspired me all their song.. missed them.. missed my teen age life. Thank you so much Beegees.. for making my teen age life happy n lively. thank you Andy..
Drugs were his worst mistake. Victoria was his best mistake. If he wasn’t hopelessly addicted they could have had a beautiful life together. Instead she had a beautiful life without him. At 73 she is a successful actress, author, producer and entrepreneur. For the last several decades she has dedicated her life to various philanthropic and humanitarian causes. He sang his brother’s songs, took drugs and failed relationships BEFORE he ever met her
And Victoria with everything she has going for her as you mentioned has had her fair share of failed relationships both before and after Andy as well. I guess that is only thing they really had in common. Sad....
You were a very talented young man. Your voice was your own, but you cysould Always sing as well as your brother. And all you all willalways always be in my life & I'm 64 the 14th of Nov. You were gone to soon, and missed. So glad we have your albums. RIP
My youngest sister, who is over 8 years younger than me, was absolutely infatuated when she was around 8-years-old, way back in 1970’s when he first became famous. Even though she was a young adult when he died, she was heartbroken.
DO SO SAD WHAT DRUGS DO THEY DO GET A GRIP YOU LOOSE EVERYTHING AND THINK THAT NOTHING ELSE MATTERS YOU TAKE THAT FIRST HIT AND YOU'RE CHASING THAT FEELING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE I KNOW BECAUSE AM STILL GOING THROUGH IT AFTER 20 YEARS AM CLEAN FOR 4 YEARS BUT AM NO LONGER MYSELF AND MY FAMILY WERE CALLED TO SAY GOODBYE AFTER HEARTATTACKS BUT AM STILL HERE ❤️ I'M 55 NOW RIP 🦋❤️🌈 ANDY GIBB YOU FOLLOWED THE WRONG PATH STAY BEAUTIFUL 🥰
