That's why even if nothing happened to 4minute clc wouldn't have gotten this big... And I don't think gidle will allow them to be bigger... One of their biggest problem was coming back with “Where Are You” after “Hobgoblin”. CUBE should’ve seen how much attention that CLC got with Hobgoblin and stuck with that concept. Of course the girlies can do any concept, but it’s about the people and what they want to listen to in the end. Another problem was their HIATUSES and that’s all on CUBE. Either they had to give up their song or had to pushback their comeback. CUBE has wasted at least 2 years of CLC’s contract. I do agree that this is their make or break with this comeback and I have good feelings with this comeback. CUBE has actually been promoting the girls so good lately and we’ve been rewarded with a new logo and official colors! The last problem is Cheshires themselves. Not all Cheshires, but the ones who complain and don’t do anything to help CLC. CLC can’t succeed without us, the listeners. I’ve been seeing messages about Cheshires boycotting their new comeback, because it’s not an album. I’m upset too, but we shouldn’t do anything to hurt them as a group. I think it’s ridiculous, knowing they’ve been inactive for almost a year. BUY THE PHYSICAL SINGLE. COLLECT VOTES. AND GET READY TO STREAM.

I thought one time CLC would be turn out to be one of these girl groups who disbanded without even winning on a music show once, I'm glad I was proven wrong when they scored their first win.
People think “Hobgoblin” was a success in Korea when it got released but it actually didn’t even chart. It only gathered them attention (especially international). Because there fans before Hobgoblin were sticking with them because of their other sound, Cube got scared of loosing those fans, that’s why they released a ballad song afterwards which was a big turn off for the new fans. In conclusion, cube is that type of person who hates risking it too much and it’s hella indecisive and you just want to punch in the face.
This is just my opinion but I think they would have become more popular if they released black dress right after Hogoblin (or a song with a similar concept). If they wanted to keep the Korean fanbase interested they could have put some ballads as B-sides or to give it more attention release a single that is a ballad. They really should have risked something.
The thing is that their old fans who stuck with them for their cute concept were not many and and weren't growing in number but hobgoblin brought the opportunity to make them big internationally. So the 2 options that cube had after hobgoblin was to risk it all and push for girl-nuclear-crush (which wasn't really a risk because I think that it was obvious that they ARE that concept and nobody was doing it like them at that time as well as now and it was and is really in demand) or to go back to the beginning to just barely have any potential to grow. That was not really a choice tbh that was more like:"meh, let's just fuck everything up cause it is more fun when everything gets fucked up".
There is only one reason *CUBE Entertainment* If they had managed CLC the right way they would have been one of the most popular group groups, hopefully now they will do them right, which they should have in the first place

Gamaliel Castillo Yes they are mistreated. They had their long-awaited cb song La Vie en Rose sold, it took 5 years for them to get official colors and they have no lightstick. They were sidelined by their junior’s debut and get horrifically low budget mv sets. They get 1 cb every 1 1/2 years because their activities are constantly being pushed back to accommodate other groups. Helicopter is a turning point and I hope you’ve preordered a copy to support the girls.

CLC is from a MAJOR label company and has literally watched their sister rookie group leap ahead of them in sales and popularity.

CLC were literally wasted by Cube, not only they didn't promote them well, but that group has one of the best vocalist in 3rd gen, one of the best rapper in 3rd gen ,one of the best dancer in 3rd gen, and they all have an amazing stage presence and beautiful visual !
When CLC is building momentum with "Hobgoblin", Cube decided to not ride that momentum. Cube almost destroyed CLC's career reason one is that "Hobgoblin" to "Where Are You" transition and next is that when CLC is making headlines because of "Black Dress", Cube decided not to give them comebacks until "No". 2019 was CLC's year having three comebacks and that's the only time where Cube actually treated them right.

hobgoblin only popular in international but flop in korea . the song didn't chart in any major platforms in korea. CLC lost a lot of their korean fans because of that song that's why they released 'where are you?' to win their korean fans heart again because usualy koreans like that type of song.

PENTAGON and (G)I-DLE are self-produced idols so instead of preparing a budget for a producer and a writer for them, the money would be added instead either to the making of their MVs, stage outfits or comeback promotions. But ofcourse, I'm not saying that the producers of each group do not have their own share, they do have as well but whenever CUBE decides for their comeback, at least it is not their top priority. In the case of CLC, Sorn herself replied to a fan. She made everything clear. Accordingly, CUBE does not restrict them in making their own songs. It just that they are still in the process of learning to make the music that suits them most. CLC is not yet an expert when it comes to producing their own songs but they do have members who can write esp. Elkie and Yeeun. But regardless, we cannot deny how these girls have soooo much potential and yet often times, they were being ignored by CUBE. So the thing is, whatever our disappointments to CUBE we should not include the other groups because they're also working very hard like PTG who haven't received their 1st win yet.
I totally agree with this comment... Though CLC can't produce their own songs yet, it's a bit of all factors: timing, luck and talent... Pentagon somehow having the production talent in its members still hasn't had a first win because of timing and luck issues (debut in same yr as BP, Dawn leaving, etc.) IDLE on the other hand had excellent timing and luck as they were deemed the monster rookies of 2018 (along with IZONE, Stray Kids and Ateez) and got that early start) Its kinda a shame... But on the bright side, a rising tide raises all ships... So I'm also seeing IDLE's popularity affect PTG and CLC as a lot of Nevies (like me) support Cheshire and Universe... ❤️❤️❤️
Atharwa Namjoshi Yes, I agree with you as well. PTG has a lot of good songs and yet because of the unexpected things happened to them, it somehow affect their popularity. So basically, PTG needs perfect timing and luck. While CLC, on the other hand, is highly affected by CUBE's mismanagement. They did a lot of experiments to these girls and they did nothing when people's attention were gradually on them. They missed a lot of good opportunities. For (G)I-DLE, it is actually because of them that I also fell inlove with BTOB, PENTAGON and CLC.

I'm actually quite surprised that La Vie En Rose was not mentioned as that was a big turning point in CLC's career. The group was actually filming a reality show at the same time while they were preparing for their comeback and it actually highlights the moment when the girls found out that their comeback was delayed.

Clc have a combination of mismanagement and bad timing. Coming out with a Cure Concept in 2015. Not sticking with Girl Crush when we were all so thirsty for it. Where are you and summer kiss after Hobgoblin? The blow up of Momolands Boom Boom? Clc should have debuted Girl Crush but especially after Hobgoblin they should have capitalized on how sparse BlackPink comebacks were. Cube was dealing with some many issues behind the scenes Clc sometimes feels like a tragic bystander.
I think CLC was supposed to debut with a girl crush concept but it was changed because 4Minute was a group legendary for this sound and cube didn't want two girl groups with the same concept, so Cube decided to go for the cuter concept. That's partly why after the 4M disbandment CLC changed to the badass concept. Also, why the comparisons with 4M happened, why 4nias hated on CLC and why the song was a huge flop in SK. Now the comparisons with 4Minute aren't as common but in the moment after the disbandment it was a hot-hot topic.

Oh My Girl came out with my favorite girl group song of that year Cupid for a debut, Gfriend gives us glass bead and begins the School Girl Trilogy (we love consistency) and then you have Twice. Say what you want about twice whether or not they have good or bad songs they came out so often and so consistently and their songs were always within their concept. It literally doesn't surprise me that they are as big as they are twice was coming back like every 3 weeks. CLC's Pepe was very well received the problem is that 18 and like we're not as good. High heels is a little bit of better but they should have came harder during high heels because that was the era of Eunbin being on produce and gaining a little bit of property I also don't think they should have revealed that she was going to be joining CLC in the middle of the show they should have. She could have gained a lot more popularity and brought that with her. Revealing that she had debut plans if she didn't make it into I.O.I was Cube shooting themselves in the foot. She couldn't promote with them and people quit voting for her. No oh oh is actually my favorite cute CLC song but i think at that point Cube was finally realizing that cute wasn't going to work. Cube makes choices that kinda make sense but looking bad were not the best. It took too long for CLC to find to find the sound that works for them and at this point i should just make my own video🤡🤡
Seungyeon is a strong dancer...BOY THAT'S AN UNDERSTATEMENT. She is legit a top 3 female dancer in K-Pop. She is THAT good. Overall CLC's dance line is STACKED now that Elkie and Yeeun have improved immeasurably (Yujin has always been amazing)

Cube seems to like to focus on the most popular group from their company at the moment but yet failed to realize that if they had promoted CLC properly they could’ve been even bigger than those groups, you have one of the best female rappers and the best female dancer along with a powerful vocalist and stunning visuals...why throw that potential away?

@@raffie_exe Nobody can ever deny Cube's promoting them badly and mismanaging them but when you don't have a dedicated fanbase to buy their stuff, the company kinda gets the gist of it to validate their mismanagement like long hiatus, no full album, no lightstick etc. I am a hardcore Neverland and I'm yet to purchase anything related to (G)I-DLE cuz I don't have that financial power (gladly we have a grwoing fanbase who are willing to buy) but I support them in other ways like voting or str**ming or introducing them to new ones. These do help too. But the truth is nothing beats financially supporting one's favs cuz they are a group under a company whose priority is making a profit. If someone is making them more profit, they will turn to them more frequently instead of the unstable fanbase ones. This is the bitter reality and I hope, this thing changes during the Helicopter CB.

ok but can we talk about how well-rounded CLC are. SEUNGYEON. SEUNGHEE. YEEUN. they have the rap, they have the vocals, they have the dance. Seungyeon is one of the best 3rd gen dancers today. i saw a dance ranking of CLC and in the end of the video there was a tier list of all the groups' members that channel has ranked before and *seungyeon's score was 9.8 and was at god tier and at the top of the list.* yes. she is that good. anyway please go support our girls when Helicopter comes out!

"You don't have a name ready for the debut group, really? Okay, let me explain through this ppt what (G)I-DLE means!" "So, we need to wait for an indefinite time until you give us our first CB. Okay, here's our CB song Hann." This is just an example (so, don't take it in a negative way) and trust me, this is how things work at Cube. Glad to hear they are trying and that's how possibly the only way to escape from Cube's curse of mismanagement.

I'm not a CLC stan, but I highly respect their hustle. They promote themselves better than what should be their managers/company. It was so crazy how Cube had to basically have a presentation by CLC with Hyuna to get the company to change their concept.

I honestly think they were extremely unlucky with the timing. They started with the cute concept when Twice was dominating then switched to a darker girl crush concept when Blackpink debut, they never managed to find the necessary space to be noticed. :(

I wouldn't say (G)-idle took the spotlight from CLC. It's more like their company mismanaged CLC and when (G)-idle did well from debut, they saw it as an opportunity to learn from their mistakes. It has less to do with space in the kpop world and more to do with management and money on Cube's part.
Agreed And the main reason why gidle can come back so often is due to the fact that Soyeon writes and produces the title tracks, which means that they don’t rely on cube so much when it comes to producing new songs

And now Elkie has left the group and there is a very good chance that Cube will disband CLC in February. Then they will focus on the huge popularity of (G)I-dle.
My mom who passed away (early 2020) got me into kpop. She was a huge girls generation fan. She couldn’t be there when I gave birth to my daughter this past January so I asked the doctor if I could listen to kpop while I pushed. She happily obliged. Being my 4th child, she was born before “helicopter” had even finished. I can’t wait for her to hear the song that brought her into this world. And thank you CLC, I may have felt every ounce of the pain but the song literally got me through it. You’ve always deserved more than you received and I hope this isn’t the end. But I’ll be a fan no matter what...always
I keep thinking back to their comeback with "Where are You" and wondering how different their careers would be right now if they had "I Like it" as the title track instead. Would they have skyrocketed and gotten their first win with "Black Dress"? Would they be thriving by now and already have had a comeback in 2020? So many if's that will never be answered...
Actually, Black dress had all the chances of getting a win bc of it's success but then Boom Boom, bad boy and ddu du du, came out so black dress was overshadowed. Besides that, black dress promotions were too short. We loved that black dress were CLC's first win.

cube already announced their dismissal I think late 2020, they said there will no longer be activities nor promotions for the group anymore and basically abandoned them after Helicopter :((

As much as I love Devil, they took a step backward with that song. They just should have done a blackpink and never comeback to another concept. Cube underestimated the importance of the song that will be released after No and they lost all their momentum.
Totally disagree. Devil showed a more vocally powerful side to CLC while keeping most of the elements of girlcrush. I also know a lot Cheshires that joined the fandom because of Devil. Btw, Devil was not released after No. It was released after Me.

CLC's debut is one of the best in Kpop, in my opinion. There songs are top tier and I thought they would've had massive success after "Hobgoblin," but I guess people don't like different concepts. As a Red Velvet stan, I really like different concepts because it adds unique style not only to their discography but the group is known for versatility.
