I believe the reason they made all knives the exclusive tier is so they would stand out in the night market. Because if you see you got an orange you would know that it is a knife because exclusive guns cant come to it.
@@urnotjustin none really but apperently i almost share birthday with The Safehouse Collection The Mirage Collection The Train Collection The Italy Collection The Lake Collection from CS
I feel like recolors of standard x(vandal, knife, phantom, etc.) should cost radianite instead of VP, like the smite collection, make it cost 30 radianite so people don't have to spend money on skins that don't have effects or change the model, that way more people can have skins and Riot could launch more "default knives"
Honestly, I think we need more affordable default knives, which are still cool looking, so if more people are using them, the game can be a little less visual clusterfuck that it is headed towards becoming......
But that's kinda the point of valorant. People who want to play a game that is consistent and toned down will just play csgo. You have the same ability to do anything in that game as the person right next to you and the weapon skins as well as maps are "realistic" with the skins all being the same exact model and even the character skins was jaw dropping when they dropped. Valorant being an explosive blast of color, art styles and special gunplay with abilities is what people are gravitating towards because lord knows more people would probably prefer valve to riot games as companies.
I was just thinking about this, they could make it be something that costs over 10k kingdom credits that you could dump the credits you get over time into
Honestly do wish melees werent so expensive or I'd grab a few. Im stuck grabbing the BP ones and maybe one day I'll get my kuronami no yaiba(WHY IS IT 50$ BTW??) The one bad thing about being a console player is only having one battlepass so far to get skins and stuff for.
Nebula knife is one of my all time favs in the entire game tbh! Animations and all that are cool but I think a good ole default knife can have some character
I think the fact that the battlepass exists kind of negates the space for default knives. $10 for the battlepass gets you a knife that is better than a default knife; I doubt that Riot would charge less than $10 for a knife that you can just outright purchase. Although I think the closest comparison would be color reskins for Overwatch heros. I wonder how many people buy those rather than just saving currency for new designs that aren't just the default model with a new colorway.
By that vein, skin sets could include a "knife chroma" item that would just colour match the default knife to match the set and price it the same as a banner or buddy. This could be a good idea for people that have the budget for just 1 gun and can't justify a full priced melee or the cost of a full set to get the melee included but want to keep some of the theme going.
its a marketing tactic to get people to buy skins, having a base game knife being bland was intentional, they fully took inspiration from cs's business model of buying skins. Although ild love to see default knifes be added into the game still as it would be cool to have more options. Edit: i dont think most business practices are openly spoken about, alot of points made can be corporate responses to answer your question. giving credit to the art team is important no less, so we should always not blame the people in charge of making the skins but the ones pushing out pricing of skins and handling of said skins.
Yeah definitely the artists and development team for the skins are amazing and are all really cool people who genuinely do try to raise the bar!!! I have asked several people and I’ve never gotten a straight answer which absolutely seems indicative of some corporate issue with revealing the price
@@urnotjustin yeah that is the case really, though the bar for creativity has been higher recently which is awesome, but i don’t expect pricing lower future wise, we should as consumers expect higher quality products/skins moving forward for increasing the prices of skins.
Definitely, so many items share the default animations which isn’t particularly what the video is about. But I think if they sold default knives for like 1000 VP they’d sell well and would be a neat little thing for new players or players strapped for cash to have
if they make them too cheap it might not be good for them either it's like how valorant requires you to buy a bundle of VP instead of the exact amount for buying stuff
@@urnotjustin to elaborate more, I rly liked how you got input from a member of the actual dev/art team, as well as fully elaborated about the different between games and skins, and how some games like cs wouldn’t allow for skins from valorant. The fact that skins are always going to be more and more dynamic is interesting and how the new default is no longer as traditional as before. It was very informative and I’d even say one of my favorite videos on RU-vid 👍 Well done 🙌
