While their is a lot of discussion of Diana’s neediness, none of Charles. Charles is no less needy, and has a lot of similar childhood experiences. Parents that left him for months on end, and both emotionally distant. Raised by nannies and headmasters. Charles was 32, by far the more worldly and should have been the more mature. His relationship with Camilla was a selfish act, which put his marriage in jeopardy from the start. Neither Charles or Camilla cared who they hurt, that level of self involvement does not make for a good king in modern days.

No he didn't. Barry Mannake was employed as Diana's Bodyguard in 1985. Diana and Mannake had an "inappropriate" relationship. Diana has admitted that. Although she has denied sleeping with him but staff and others who were there at the time have said that Diana was having a sexual relationship with him. Diana said she would gladly have run away with him if he had asked. (It did not seem to matter to her that he was married). Staff at that time have said that Mannake would come to Kensington Palace and Diana would dismiss them all (send them away) and Diana would entertain Mannake in her private drawing room. Diana used to give him cashmere sweaters and other gifts as well I imagine. Anyway Diana and Mannake were caught in a compromising position. Word got back to the RF and Mannake was removed from his post. Charles and Camilla did not resume their physical relationship until 5 yrs after the marriage.
