Something that is only present in the first four generations of Pokémon is a casino known as the Game Corner.
These locations held slot machines and other luck based games. For some reason, the prizes always took an insane amount of time to get if you tried to get them through winning the games.
Eventually, Pokémon stopped putting the Game Corner into their games. This was because references to gambling were no longer considered "kid friendly."
