What Happened to Iman Shumpert's NBA Career? Let's talk about former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert and his time in the NBA. He was on the nba rookie 1st team with the New York Knicks and I would argue that his two best years in the league were with the Knicks. He is now on the Sacramento Kings after getting traded at the 2018 trade deadline.

I've been watching Shump since his days at Ga Tech. He can score off the dribble. He was Tech's point guard and leading scorer. I think, just like Rose, it was the injuries, which led to inconsistent playing time, and distractions off the court that hurt his game. He has to stay healthy and be in a rotation where he's touching the ball.

That opening clip demonstrates how explosive and electrifying he was back then. I found it interesting how almost all the other knicks started to jog back on defense, content that the pacers would collect the rebound off the miss but Shump was the only one with high IQ basketball instincts to stay and fight. And finish.

He was a big part of the 3-1 comeback in the finals. I remember watching the games and this dude's only job was to guard Curry. He did not shoot, he did not get the ball but he did his job marvelously. Too bad both Tristan Thompson and him failed to repeat their finals performance next year.

I think he’ll be pretty good for Sacramento if he stays healthy. He can be a great glue guy and the Kings def need a perimeter defender. Either play Shumpert or let him sit on the bench while paying him 10 mill. If they don’t play Shumpert I say they bring back Sampson, since he did great this season.

He had like one really good season imo like any team it was right before his contract was up and they signed him to a ridiculous amount. He’s not really versatile player anymore. That’s why he was traded and again. Like a lot of nba players once they get paid they start not caring
