I have to say, of course Jessica’s departure from the group is sad for the group and fandom, but starting her own fashion brand is a solid career choice, much more stable and long-lasting comparing to the idol life. I’m happy to see both sisters are doing well 🥰 they are a powerful sibling indeed
Yes, it’s amazing that she has such a successful brand!!! I just wish that that greedy company would’ve allowed her to do both. It’s not at all exaggerating to say that Girls Generation is iconic, and she put so much of her life into that group! Now she can’t even (officially) participate in SNSD’s reunions or any kind of future promotions that they might have 🙄
You're totally right. However, what fans like me hate the most is when the other girls talk about Girls'Generation as a 8 members group as if Jessica has never existed and worst : some "supposed fans" are shouting out loud OT8! That is disgusting, you cannot erase someone's past just because it is inconvenient for you or your communication.
Krystal is current thriving as an actress under her new management H& entertainment and is currently starring in the new drama “Police University” 😍. And, Jessica is thriving as an entrepreneur. The Jung sisters will always be iconic 😊💕
@@shawnnicolo7445 Yes, Omg. Ah, I love her acting. She's going to star in another drama that is airing next year in February, with Kim Jae Wook as well. It's gonna be a bloody romance, if I'm not mistaken.
@@xheralt because it has filmed before krystal left SM. i suspect that sm was trying to delay jk2 broadcast as long as possible to make krystal re-think about renew her contract with sm...and it fail. so...
They have a new show coming up(the one they filmed in 2019) Rumored release date is around sept but still not confirmed. They released an amazing ost sang by Jessica yesterday. Please check it out. I can't sleep by Jessica Jung
SNSD was the girl group that got me into kpop, and watching Krystal in the Heirs (with Heechul from SuJu making a cameo lol) got me not only into kdramas, but it made me love F(x).
Jessica’s success once she left SM is insane. Just think it all started with sunglasses and a pop up shop in Seoul. Now she’s global and even does clothing and other fashion items. It doesn’t get any better. You can tell she’s WAY happier not living the strict life of a K-Pop idol. Even Tiffany coming back to America to be a solo artist. She even seemed way happier because she was releasing the music SHE wanted, that SHE created and put out videos in HER vision and SHE got the final say. Just to have that freedom with your career no matter what road you take is amazing and feels liberating.
After 9/30, Girls' Generation was never the same again, even if we consider the period between 2014 and 2017 when they were still active as a group. They lost a big part of their shine. It's sad that I only got less than four years as a SONE before Jessica left. Also the way MeU were tortured after 4 Walls because f(x) didn't do anything but were not officialy disbanded makes me angry. They didn't deserve that.
it’s sad that both parties of the 9/30 incident suffer. i love both parties a lot and it’s just heartbreaking to see their sister relationship end so abruptly because of something that happen which we might or might not ever find out about . hope one day the case will be closed . for context , the girls from snsd has been suffering from loss of fans and criticism for things that are not even confirmed jessica of course lost her sisters and was deeply hurt imagine investing years of training tgt just for it to end up like this 😭😭 and the sad thing is we might never know what happened on that fateful day
@@megosaur. I think she was going to leave peacefully after Tokyo Dome, because if you look at the Divine music video she's clearly saying goodbye. She wanted to focus on her fashion designer career. But she was kicked out a few months before because either: 1-she gave up on her decision and wanted to stay in the group and SM got angry or 2-she wasn't filling up to her schedule with the group because she was already too focused on her business. Tokyo Dome was supposed to be her goodbye stage with Catch me if you can and Divine music videos. It's just weird that there would be no Korean goodbye.
tbh it's really unfortunate that things rolled out the way it did for the girls, but the way they bounced back is super amazing. I'm just hoping SM would stop black-listing Jessica in the industry so we could see Sica back in Korean TVs and programs. As for Krystal, she's been doing really good as an actress and model since her f(x) days so we've got nothing to worry about.
With all due respect, I could still feel jessica’s gap in snsd although it’s been years. The music is great, but you miss the presence of a member that’s not there anymore. We’ll probably never exactly know, but it’s made me incredibly curious to know who could’ve vouched for her to be kicked out.
It's really SM Entertainment that wanted to and decided to fire Jessica. The only two reasons that make sense are either 1) Jessica wasn't properly fulfilling her SNSD duties to SM's satisfaction or 2) SM fired her because they changed their minds and didn't like the fact that they wouldn't be making any money from her business and that was unacceptable to them. Keep in mind that SM not only FIRED Jessica but they BANNED her from promoting her music on most or all of the major promotion platforms. They basically blacklisted her from the K pop industry using their influence and power. SM want people to place the blame on the members and not on them. SM only cares about money and profit. They don't care about the idols or the fans.
@@brianlittrell797 It was only a couple of years ago that I started listening to kpop' girls generation is a name that basically all fandoms know but only this year the group began to fascinate me^ the videos and the story behind 9/30, reading this it's almost the same thought i have lately watching snsd videos, It's not just that Jessica had been fired from the group, it's that sm literally tried to erase from everyone's memory that she was once part of the group, the members don't talk about her, publicly they do not have any contact with her, even the media cannot talk about her as part of the group 🤷 what intrigues me the most about all this is the agreement reached by the 2 parties
@@yohannap7913 SM's trying to erase from everyone's memory that Jessica was once part of the group and forcing the SNSD members to never mention her or contact her publicly and their stranglehold over the media should be enough to demonstrate to both Korean and international fans how lacking in morals and good values SM Entertainment is. It makes them look evil, petty and childish, but also dangerous. If every K pop fan were like me then SME would have been out of business very shortly after they fired Jessica. They would have been mass boycotted into bankruptcy. I spend my money on companies that are more deserving of money. Like Dreamcatcher's company. Dreamcatcher is my favorite K pop group. Their music is awesome and I love their personalities. And the company seems very decent too.
@@brianlittrell797 Knowing what I know now sm wanted to make a statement in the future and they succeeded- because I dare to say that no Idol after 2014 dares to do something similar to what Jessica did, I can't imagine how it was be a Sone with this whole situation in 2014 (I want to put myself in Jessica's shoes and she probably had a terrible time' I mean the group lost 1 member but she lost 8 persons) I know that she is doing great with her brand but they have known each other since they were children* those are many years to try to erase. By the way I also like Dreamcatcher! I'm pretty excited to see them for the first time next year at a festival in Barcelona
@@yohannap7913 Yes, I know SM wanted to make a statement and if enough fans were like me and boycotted SM in response then SM would have realized they'd made a mistake. But since people are not like me then SM got away with their shit. At least that is how it appears on the surface, because life is more complex and tricky than SM or most people realize. Most fans were upset and many of them outraged by what happened but they didn't hold SM accountable by making SM suffer financially. I don't think Jessica lost 8 persons. I think she is still friends with, and still meets up with, several of the members. Maybe even all 8 of them. There is some evidence to suggest this is true and it makes perfect sense. The members that still have a contract with SM probably can't interact with Jessica publicly. You are from Barcelona in Spain? Dreamcatcher's reach is wide indeed.
There was a rumor that they already recorded an album together but then 9/30 happened, now it's just in SM dungeon and may possibly be given to other groups/artist in the company...
It definitely wasn't just a rumor. There was a video clip back in the day where a fan had been standing outside SM and underneath them, a couple of floors up there was an open window with some music playing and the song seemed to have both Jessica & Krystals' voices on it. At least one song was definitely going to happen.
i feel like fx was really used for sme to see how much success the different style would make and then end up being kinda replaced by red velvet.... if we look at red velvets songs many are experimental and "similar" to fx (which i do not blame on the girls themselves). fx deserved so much better than this treatment by sm.
Putting aside how Jessica still managed to find success after being kicked out imagine how horrible she felt she spent fourteen years adding up début and time in the group her whole teenage years working sooo hard just to be kicked out for wanting to chase her dream
If you follow all of GG’s IGs, you’ll sometimes stumble upon random GG posts where members have liked each other’s posts secretly. For example, Yuri will like a fan photo of Jessica. My theory is that the real enemy is SM but there has been too much drama already to bring more things up, so the girls are just content with life as it currently is. I dream to one day see OT9 again.
@@ywc9644 Yeah it feels like they all have moved on with their life without telling us the whole story. About liking ot9 posts, they were probably just reminiscing they're younger days.
FR. She was SNSD’s ace. It’s a shame she has anemia. She was literally fire during her debut days, and her being center at the beginning of ITNW just shows it. Sadly she became more and more tired as years passed, and this affected her dance so much.
Both were my biases in their groups and Krystal's my ult. These girls had everything - that incredible Jung timbre, charming personalities, stunning visuals and clearly a ton of inner strength. I'm always sad I never get to see them doing what made me love them so much anymore, but I'm ultimately glad that they're both thriving away from k-pop. I'll always be a fan, and when that f(x) reunion happens in 20 years time, I'll be crying and cheering with the rest of the fans (I doubt Jessica will ever get to meet up with SNSD again sadly.)
You should totally reach out to Jessica to see if she'll collab! She does release regularly on her youtube so it may even be a smart business move for her since she is serious about youtube as a platform. :)
F(x) members including Krystal are still friends. All of them do different things now, but they always say that they will eventually come back together, that they didn't disband. I'm still waiting for that day to come, since they had amazing albums, a lot of talent and honestly they could've done it internationally, if SM hadn't mismanaged them.
Jessica was incredibly smart to create a more diversified career and Krystal deserves to pursue her artistic ambitions with an agency that makes her feel supported. Makes me sad to see them treated this way as a fan for so many years, but it’s amazing to see them find new joys and successes. Xx
"...with a girl band." Just one of the most iconic groups of all time, male or female! They were THE Nation's Girl Group and set the blueprint for Kpop groups for decades to come including making big leaps into the American market. SNSD Forever! :)
"Heroes get remembered, but legends never die," That's exactly what the Jung sisters: Legends. Their respective groups did so much for K-pop. Girls' Generation opened the doors for girl groups while being in a heavily male-dominated industry during their time. f(x), along with Shinee, prioneered experimental music into K-pop. I wasn't a Kpop fan back when they were active but I know the history. I think it's definitely fair to say that they paved the way for K-pop in their respective field of expertise.
True, and this is common in Sm. Seriously, the majority of SM idols have talked about this. I think internet nathan make a mistake. Krystal was first scouted, and she was 5 years old. But her parents didn't allow it as she was young, so they let Jessica go first.
Well how about SM affects Krystal’s promotions? Jess is her sis and we know blood is thicker than water. Sulli is Krystal’s close friend even when Sulli left f(x), they still contacted e/o and she was also spotted w Krystal at idwly art exhibition. Krystal went to audition all drama by herself and Sm didn’t even bother to promo it, the fans only found out her drama after the costar posted on ins :(
@@luisenriquefigueroa4439 Non-disclosure agreements most likely :/ I’m just speculating, but for SM to pretend that they debuted as 8 members shows how badly they want to erase her from their history, which is stupid lol
Who's here after the book? I still don't support the decision of her being kicked out but it happened and she's still successful I'm glad for her. I just hate the fact she had to chose between 2 of her passions. She probably felt like choosing between mom and dad, I mean wtf. And they have spent so much time together, to throw it all away just like that, meh it's just sad. I feel bad for her..
All F(X) song is so classic ... and high quality works.. they are so sweet... it break our hearts when you see Jung Sister cry as they care for one another
At this point I assume the reason Jessica was kicked out was due to the other members, if it was the company than after a certain point they would have reached out to Jessica for a reunion of some sort since her popularity would definitely increase profits.
@@twigagawizard Imagine the members are so powerful, they can BLOCK Jessica from the entertaiment industry for years (yes, she IS banned from Music shows, even National TV)
@@Evergladez if you think about it like yea technically they’re no longer signed to SM but they are still Girls’ Generation and that name does belong to SM. So anything that has to deal with the group like jessica’s departure is still under SM’s jurisdiction. If their last agreed statement was never to acknowledge jessica again then it will be done
Uggghh my god, Jessica was THE ultimate bias before I even knew what a bias was back then. I was hella sad when she departed from GG 😭 but glad to see how much further she has come into her career. Fighting!
Just watched Krystal in the Netflix Movie "Sweet and Sour" and I always enjoy her parts whenever I see her act. Her favorite role for me is still the one in Prison Playbook but I know she's done other great work also!
Def check out her new drama Police University! It’s has been getting a lot of attention in Korea and they keep breaking rating/views record every episode. It’s really fun!
Ngl I still wish someone will leak the shelved JungSis album and MV from SM. 🙈 Anyway, they're doing great now. They're thriving and no one can stop them. My queens, keep doing what you do. 🥰👑
Jan 2024 here. Jessica just released new music/MV with Amber from f(x) and I watched that and some other stuff from Jessica, so YT algo decided to serve me this video lol.
Without jessica vocals, snsd music after her departure changes a lot. It lack her signature distinct voice. And it's kinda sad that new sones dismissed and disrespect her as a main vocalist of the group. Yes the other members improved significantly ,but Jessica and taeyeon vocals carried the group during their earlier years. She was a solid vocalist. Not to mention the legendary taengsic harmonies.
That was fantastic. So glad to see that they are both doing so well. Two amazing ladies...from two amazing groups...with two amazing lives. Another great video, Nathan.
I follow Jessica from SNSD and she was my favorite of the group, with all the hatred in the world that rained down on her for who knows what, and the truth is I stopped following the group when they ran her, everyone says that she left but we know that SM He ran it without options and none of the companions could do anything to retain them, 5 years later the same would happen to the rest of the group and they would remain as they are now, being the most important group of their generation.
granted we didnt see the first interview, but it felt like a punch in the gut when jessica said she started her career with a "girl band" and couldn't even say their name. i'm not hopeful for a 9snsd reunion, but i do hope one day all of them can be friends again. or if not, they can openly talk about what happened with no ill feelings towards eachother. i was never a huge jessica fan however she was in snsd and i will support her as well as the other members.
The Jung sisters, even if they were kicked out of the Kpop world, they having nothing left to prove. They already cemented their names in the books along with their respective groups. As long they are both happy right now, that’s what matters to us right now.
krystal never kicked out from idol world, she herself walk out ...sm really tried to debut krystal as solo artist you can search but krystal never had confidence on her vocal so she didnt debut as solo
1. ABO isn't a word. It's the letters A, B, O. 2. Sulli was the only member to leave the group & the group isn't disbanded either. They have said they just decided to spend a few years focusing on establishing their solo careers, since they ended up with SM pushing them aside, resulting in a long hiatus & them each then just signing up for more solo commitments with conflicting schedules. So they then realised it was a good time to focus on their individual goals & ride out the remainder of their SM contract. Just a few months ago Luna said in an interview again that f(x) didn't disband (she was mildly upset that a comment/question from a fan referred to f(x) in the past tense) & will eventually sing together again when they work out the timing. (And obviously, they will be older & bring new & different things to the group dynamic when they do.) They are enjoying establishing their solo work, but they do still want to sing as a group again too.
Hey I-Nathan it's not my birthday but you still gave me a present! When I saw this I couldn't click fast enough. I wouldn't even watch it any where but my TV. As soon as I heard Sica and then saw the two of them together...I couldn't stop smiling! They just make me melt ❤ Krystal is very active in k drama with Police University and another upcoming project. Jessica on her RU-vid channel and her fashion biz of course. Anyway Thank you for such an excellent video!
Does anyone know how B&E is doing though? I mean outside the K-pop scene.. I totally adore Jessica but I feel like her fashion career has never really taken off, which is such a shame
I'm wondering you were missing for almost 2 weeks now. I guess it's tiring to think of contents but it's good to see you back again. Also, I would like to suggest it if it's possible for you to drop some documentary about Honey Popcorn :) more power.
Jessica DEBUTING girl generation is VERY BIG a mile stone in her life she might have left and she doing very well in her fashion brand but none of it would have started if she never had debuted girl generation she probably would have just lived a simple line if her parents decline it forever or they went shopping another day I’m so glad Jessica never forgot us sones she definitely won’t put girl generation behind in the past she definitely was happy with it she might have left she never forget where she started but so glad she and krystal is doing much better now Jessica is smiling much more now :) also krystal speaking up more because she with her sister she won’t have to deal with been scared of people and people she familiar with 😊❤️
But do we really know what really happened with Jessica's departure ? If it was just a career choice, then why is she not in touch with the girls anymore ? Did they end up fighting ? Was it really her choice to leave a girl group who was getting bigger and bigger ? I don't know about all that ... 7 years later, I'm still a little bit confused. What do y'all think ?
