What should the next episode of this series should be? Let me know down below! I'm wondering if we'll ever see pets again in the near future. I think Epic should reconsider bringing them back and maybe incorporate them as normal Back Blings for future skins like how they did with Psycho Bandit. Just an idea but not sure if they'd ever do that. Have a great day everyone!

They should bring back pet backblings. They don't have to make it the same battle pass pet. Like make a new variant of them.

Agreed. It’s so weird they aren’t still making them even though it seems a lot of players want them back. They’re willing to listen to the community’s requests on a lot of other things, why not this?

With pets though they are all mostly incredibly reactive, like the all the ones from C1S6-C1SX (and OHM) were reactive to jumps, aiming down sites, falling from the bus, crouching to my knowledge. The interactivity that they have is one of my absolute favorite things about em and sadly we just don’t get that anymore. Ahsoka’s bird backbling was incredibly disappointing, should have 100% been a pet. I really do hope we get more in the future. Main thing I wanna see is a parrot that rests on your shoulders. I’m confident epic could work that out

I'm really sad about the gunner pet being removed because I missed out on the season 6 battle pass and I really wanted bonsey but when gunner came out I bought him and I remember playing a match with him but the next day I logged on to see that he got deleted 😢

I have Empress, so I technically don’t need any more of them, but I still think making new pets to be featured in both the shop and BP would be refreshing to see. It would also give newer players the chance to have them. As long as they don’t pull another Gunnar/Bonesy incident and maybe price them at 800 V-bucks instead of 1000, I don’t think people would complain 😎👍

They should re release Gunner, but base it off of raptor’s Halloween edit style, (Yes Gunner is supposed to be raptor’s pet since it has the same mask)

I just think it’s too much effort on epic’s part to animate and program pets for them to not be bought. Their first mistake was giving us so many to start with. Plenty of skins cost more than the battlepass and no one has a problem with it but since we got 3 for less than a single item shop pet it really cheapened how we viewed them. Not to mention that they ran out of ideas by the second attempt and tried to use the same model as the battlepass one. Sadly I don’t think we’ll get a new one anytime soon. What they could try is starting with pets that are part of collab skins. People would definitely pay 1000 for a pet if it was from their favorite anime/movie/show etc.

On Twitter about a year ago, I saw a few posts where Fortnite content creators listed a few concepts that could make for really cool pet backblings such as a chicken, baby Klombo, wolf, etc. If the comminuty can come up with new concepts, so can the game developers.

It's not too much effort for them, let's be honest. Have you seen what they have done these recent years? And the people behind Fortnite are very creative. So I doubt they're running out of any ideas.

@@lethimcookbro746 The difference between a pet and a backbling is that pets react to multiple scenarios in game (falling, gliding, opening chests, drinking potions, getting downed, etc.) while backblings do one at most. So it is more effort/ storage space for something most people will barely use and/or are not willing to pay 1000+ vbucks for. I don’t think it’s too much effort for epic to come up with concepts, they just don’t want to make the animations. That’s why we get “pets” with an animation that just run on a loop (like piggy smallz just bobbing its head)

Remus has been with me since I got him but every live event finds new ways to snap him out of existence (an example being the Iron Man jetpacks from the Galactus fight) and it's a running joke with my friends that Remus is the Kenny of Fortnite.

Yeah, we still kinda get pets, they’re just rarer, and don’t act like the old person though, but we’ve literally haven’t gotten a toy in years

Whats even worse about the pets is the fact a lot of them are broke currently, the animations trigger but the faces are muted and don't express like they once did

Pets take more effort than any other type of cosmetic, custom animations for gliding, crouching, being downed, being pet And nobody really uses them epic probably see them as a waste of time Which is reasonable but also a shame I really enjoy them, I still use the dragon and dog pets

I didn't play chap 1 season X - chap 2 season 8 And ever since I came back in chap 3 season 1 I've noticed that a lot of old fortnite things were gone Like the old battle star system of hiding them in background and finding them every week And the secret battle pass skins of every season Ig technically they still do them but they're not "secret" much and you don't grind as much for it

Another thing that I’m not sure matters as much, but I noticed older passes had a lot of random cosmetics that were just kinda there, and they added to the charm, but now every single item in the battlepass belongs to a set for some skin

Great video! I was one of the people who made a video just like this around 3 years ago, and a couple follow ups after that. The more time passes without an actual pet the more I think Epic just kind of got lazy. Instead of making a unique pet with 5+ animations, they just make a low effort animal backbling with like 2 and call it good. It makes me really sad because I think the flying pets like Choppy were a huge step in the right direction.

Empress came back about last year. She was in a shop section called “Vaulted for a Year or More”. I purchased her as soon as I saw she was back. But I agree, I hope she comes back soon so other players have the chance to buy her.

I'm actually quite glad that they didn't pursue pets further. I think it was a bad idea in the first place. They were impractically large, the interacting animations never worked properly or lined up the way they were supposed to. Overall, they're not anything that I use or will ever use, they just sit in my inventory. The price, didn't even think about that, but hopefully that issue causes the downfall of vehicles and instruments being sold in the item shop, at least at the price point they are being sold at or in the limited utility that they are

I own all but 6 pets. The 3 chapter 1 season 6 pets, Merry Munchkin, Claptrap, and Baby Yoda. I paid for Empress and I’ve gotten every other pet. I love this type of cosmetic and I’m so patiently waiting for another one to join the game 🫡
