Hi! I'm a french veteran of MH4U and more games from Monster Hunter series! Just to tell you that now I use to check your channel everyday to see if there is a new video xD. Really, the only one RU-vid channel I can rely on to have fun is yours. Keep going, I'll stay among your community :]
If Poogie has a million fans, then I'm one of them. If Poogie has ten fans, then I'm one of them. If Poogie has one fan, then I'm THAT ONE. If Poogie has no fans, that means I'm dead.
Honestly, it would be fun if you had a choice between bringing Cahoot to track 1 monster actively, or have Poogie take a hot air balloon to track all monsters inactively (having to wave to update current locations)
Unfortunately, attempting to cater to both old style fans and new style fans would probably be asking too much, so Capcom might just stick to the safer, more streamlined nature.
@@adhdasdfroflxd123 Most would just stick to Cahoot admittedly (tracking your target and all), but some would use Poogie to watch all the monsters for their own reasons. It's just a neat decision to make that really won't change the game or ruin Cahoot dominance.
@@Manavine I know. It's just extra effort that atm I don't see Capcom wanting to put work into, unless they actually decided to do the opposite and reimplement tracking and just allow a check option from the menu to always display monsters anyway, because I know how vocal players can be about actually having to look for a monster in a game with large maps lol, and I don't think Capcom would want to risk alienating the new profitable audience with any kind of 'tedious' mechanic from old MH, that's my 2 cents, anyway
I just realized. This entire time in the previous games, Poogie was in the Old World. Then in MHW he went to The New World, so technically, Poogie is still in the New World, Rise takes place in the Old World. So our little pig god is alright.
"There is no proof to back up these claims [that petting poogie betters your odds]" There's no proof to back up the different button combinations that increase your chances of catching a pokemon, either, but to this day I still do it, because to this day I still seem less likely to catch something without it.
At least you mash the buttons when doing something else, I'm not taking 5 minutes out of my hunts to pet that poogie at the other side of the village every time
ok so, i actually know where the Poogies went. i'm a new MH player, started in Rise. i love reading the quest-giver descriptions in the loading screen. a "Disgruntled Farmer" will give you a kill quest for an Almudron that's been "slinging mud all over his dern crops, his dern house, his dern clothes" etc. he ends the quote off with "ah well, at least the Poogies is happy." me being new, i vividly remember thinking, "what the fuck is a Poogie?!" and naively tucked it away, thinking it might be a small monster i'd meet later. in short, this nameless, uncredited "Disgruntled Farmer" is now the caretaker of every single Poogie in the Monster Hunter Rise world. ...maybe not. but he definitely canonically has Poogies, so they exist :)
@@vee3620 That sounds exactly like what you say to kids when their pet died. I'm not convinced but alas my hope will never be extinguished so let us hope for the best.
It's honestly a sin that Yasunori Ichinose ditched Poogie. For those that did not know Ichinose was the major progenitor of the "cuteness" aspect of MonHun so getting Poogie replaced was really mind boggling for me
Fun fact, petting Poogie used to have a couple of full systems built around it in Monster Hunter 2 Dos, where players would be lead to gathering spots in both Jumbo village and Dundorma. There were items exclusively obtained by to petting Poogie, provided you fed him his favorite meal and were in the right season for them. Not only that, but poogie would occasionally give you gifts if you pet him enough and returned from a hunt. It could potentially be where the idea of him granting luck by petting him originated from, if it hadn't been lore/a rumor around it already.
In World, I never had a problem with my Poogie because every time I returned from a hunt, the little cutie would always greet me and I’d pet ‘em everytime and it’d follow me all cute and endearingly. Love the li’l dude. Seeing “delete poogie” kinda hurts my heart a bit and I can’t accept that that is our li’l pig’s fate in Rise. That’s the evilest send off if so, but I hope to see my precious Piglet in MH6. Thanks for the funny video. Loved it. Subscribed.
After watching this, I'm fully convinced that you are one of the best MH content creators out there. The amount of research and work you put into this must have been exhausting!
I think the big difference between rise and the older ones is that we never get contact from the guild of the mainland or old world. Elgado and Kamura are completely separate from the mainland guild. Poogie has been everywhere the guild is.
Except at the literal start of the game Fugen tells you that you are now a registered hunter of the guild? Edit:Also I just now remembered after typing this so sorry about this, is that Minoto(i believe) even says that after discovering narwa that the guild has sent out hunters to deal with her but they were wiped out so they request you since you took down ibushi
Poogie has been biding his time and training. In Monster Hunter 6 he will be the true final boss. Walking on hind legs firing kamehamehas and slamming you with gigachad gym equipment (his arena is a gym). Trust me my pig works for Capcom
Gonna save you the effort of watching the whole video and spoil it. Poogie was sentenced to life in prison by the the Hague's court. The reason being the horrendous warcrimes he commited in the Balkans during the 1990's.
i looked for poogie too but never came to that conclusion... BUT i also looked for moofy and found him in RISE! the items you see at the docks to the left side of elgados castle thingy. these shipped items change from time to time. low and behold i one time had a shipment full of moofy plushes in front of me. made me so happy. i looked if the same happens to poogie but it didnt yet.
Clearly Poogie is on a journey sniffing out Monster Hunter 6. He will return with the next installment on his back. Thank you Poogie for your hard work.
I recently discovered this channel, after having only played Rise and World, but a lot of your videos make me wanna play the older games. You have really really high quality stuff here, I love it and can't wait for more.
You're not far off So you remember in World how many hunters refused to hunt Dodogama because of how cute they were. Well there was nothing to stop their increase in population and eventually there were too many for the Elder's Recess to accommodate, the Dodogama sought out new homes across the new world and it wasn't long before they ventured to even Astera's gates, the place was overrun, many hunters were killed and Poogie was devoured...
When I first got MH World, I read a notification that said my Poogie's clothes had been changed. Being new, I was like "The frick is a poogie?" 5 minutes later, I was sobbing and ready to lay down my life for Doodles. When I found out I wouldn't get that same joy in Rise, I was shattered. Bring back my baby bean! Bring back Doodles!
I recently got into Monster Hunter with Rise this month and happened to come across your channel a couple weeks back so I wanted to tell you that your videos on this series are awesome! They really make me excited to experience the other games eventually.
I'm sure Capcom could have come up with a 1,000,000 other ways to get rid of tracking in Rise, so I'm guessing they just really did not want to keep Poogie or bring back any other previous mascots.
my god, your channel is so good! Please never stop uploading; you don't nearly get the views and subs you deserve for the amount of effort you put in these videos.
So it's canon that a previous hunter, suffering from CRT after trying to 1v1 a Rajang, mixed up the cooking animation and the petting animation, turning Poogie into Foodie. At least that's what *THEY* would have us think.
I never noticed Poogie getting in the way of the quest board… then again. I wasn’t the one who stood idle in front of the quest board for 15 minutes after every quest STEVE!!! I GOTTA WORK IN THE MORNING, ACCEPT THE EXTREME BEHEMOTH QUEST ALREADY
I have been told by an informant, who does not wish to have their name mentioned here, that Poogie is participating in special operations/expeditions for the guild. Not sure what Poogie is doing for the guild during these expeditions, my guess would be to cull the local Fatalis population.
I did see there was an input to scroll through nearby interactive stuff whenever Poogie was near the board in World, but I started playing late so I guess that was added some time later? Also I was expecting you'd show Poogie's reaction to bringing him to the kitchen at Astera 😂
Im a noobie, I've only ever played Monster Hunter World so I didn't know poogie was such a mainstay to the series, but that being said i still loved him regardless, even if he ways got in my way at the quest board!!! Incredible video, this was hilarious to watch and as a newcomer to the series i actually learned alot about the history of the game!!
What you dont know is poogie decided to become a god in mh world and took safijiva's place as our sapphire star. Long live poogie and his many outfits!
SO HE IS ALWAYS IN FRONT OF THE QUEST BOARD IN MHW, AND HERE I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME READING MY STATS AND SEEING WHAT ITEMS I HAD FOR TOO LONG! I'm honestly sad to see him go.
As a truly BIG fan of Poogie, I'm utterly destroyed that it got removed from MHR - it belongs to MH! Though, right from the beginning I saw it coming that you would bring up the "emergency food factor" at some point. I'm not sure now if I should laugh because of this avid made, funny and truly lovely video or cry because of the (anticipated) ending. But appreciate the smile you put on my face regardless! ^^
