The Author said: "The concept of the 86 kids being more than just depressed all the time despite their circumstances was something I had in mind as I was writing the novels. Director Ishii was able to understand this from the text and put extra emphasis on the childish nature of the kids and them acting their age" Which is what Dani points out how sad the show is but they keep smiling. This is such a stark contrast from the bleakness of AoT where the children are in fighr or flight mode all the time.
Like Sam, i love the storyboarding and direction of the show! The author was worried that it'll be a difficult adaptation because the 2 main leads not meeting each other but the director story boarded it such that it made the adaptation make sense but make the production of the show much more difficult.
Shin's scar was from when his brother tried to strangle him. He was never experimented on; he and his brother were sent to the camps shortly after Anette's family turned them away. Also, I don't think it's really a spoiler to say that the "Republic is controlling the Legion" theory is a pretty big stretch. There's not really anything in the show that supports it, and the Legion were created by the Empire of Giad specifically to wipe out the Republic (and other nations), so it's not clear how they would have ever gained control of them in the first place.
"well guys... Thanks for watching another 'feel good' episode of 85 with us." 😂😂😂😂😂 One of the things , oddly, that I like about 86 was just how damned depressing it was to watch. Before it was such an emotional journey. I know on Patreon you've already finished... But I can't wait to see how you react to the end.
Hey guys! Here are a few key points to help you get what the Legion is in 86 Eighty-Six, without any season two spoilers: 1. The Legion is an army of autonomous combat machines originally built by humans from the Giad Empire for war. At first, Giad used these machines to attack the Republic of San Magnolia, aiming to cut down on human losses. 2. But over time, the Legion went rogue and turned on their creators, wiping out the humans of Giad. What started as a weapon of war spiraled into something uncontrollable. 3. The Legion kept evolving, capturing other machines and even human brains, making themselves stronger and more dangerous. 4. The Republic of San Magnolia is still focused on defending itself from the Legion, but they don’t know that Giad has already been wiped out. Their intel is so bad that they still think humans are controlling the Legion, not realizing it’s now a fully autonomous, unstoppable threat. 5. So, the Legion is now a global threat to all of humanity, and taking them down is the central conflict in 86 Eighty-Six.
I realize they missed lots of things for the first episodes. Some that I already mentioned before, but here it is the fact that the autonomous Legion that the Giad Empire constructed are though to have destroyed the Empire (I think it was in episode 2 when the the history teacher summarize the conflict to the student before Lena interrupts to correct the lies).
the girls totally skipping the plot, the legion is run amok without human control, the nation that made legion basically wiped out by the legion itself, thats why theres entire ghost city without human in many place, also the legion taking the human corpse head so their number is increasing rapidly
