The only traces we have from breath of the wild story is the place vah medo perched was bamed vah medo perch and vah rudania prints in the eldin region and mipha's statue being replaced by sidon and link saving rito village. Hell even the master sword wasnt collected by link in breath of the wild
For the Sheikah Slate's disappearance, my head canon is that Link dropped it shortly after botw, cracking the screen and forcing him to upgrade to the latest iPhone
I honestly wish there was one guardian who survived and you could find him stuck in some random obscure cave somewhere, would be a cool little boss fight
There wasn't a lock on the slate itself, as other people used things like the camera. There was a sort of lock on the shrines though. One of the memories said something along the lines of "this shrine will only open for the swords chosen one" or something like that
nah bc the divine beasts weren’t even meant to kill Ganon. Plus Ganandorf equipped with a secret stone (and his transformation) is more powerful and intelligent than Ganon
@@ackflaminco2902 so? The shrines where designed for link. Doesn’t mean the slate doesn’t work for other people, it means the shrines won’t open for others. Zelda is seen using the slate in BOTW. The only other information about the slate we have is from Age of Calamity, where Zelda uses it for attacks.
makes sense. Someone else was saying Zelda going back in time in then corrected the timeline where instead of all the tech being from the sheika it came from the Zonai instead which is why all the shrines have been revamped and such cause they knew it would be infected by ganon
(Extremely minor totk spoil if you haven't played more than 2 hours) I really like how, in the towers, the things that equip link to get the map are guardian legs, and the sound they make are guardian sounds. So yeah I think at least for the towers they used guardian rests
No because the Purah pad is worse than the Sheikah slate and the map stuff is all it’s good for while the Sheikah slate had all the other abilities along with that
@@KayJ2012 I know, but why isn't there more of them with each of the researchers or Zonai Survey Corps everywhere? *Why isn't there a system to upgrade the runes like you could in BotW?* Why isn't there a Purah themed & operated app store? (Finally, if Purah perfected the age reversal, why in all of Hyrule, are Impa and Robbie still old? They were important figures in Hyrule during it's period Pre-Calamity, so why risk losing their knowledge/skills/strength? Hell, Impa used to be the elite captain of the guard for Sheikah forces! *WHY IS YOU STILL SO OLD?!?!?)*
The purah pad is probably meant to replace the sheikah slate, as the sheikah slate cannot function without everything else, and link didn’t want it anyways, so once he didn’t need it he probably hid it away OR it was deactivated along with the divine beasts
It was explained in the game (for the divine beasts) that they stopped working and were scrapped for parts you could see them start to shut down at the end of botw I believe I’m not entirely sure where it was seen but I do remember it
Oh what frs??? Was that on the base game or was that on a dlc? I honestly dobt remember (well tbh I went for a 100% run and after so much time and effort i didnt want to actually defeat ganon so i never fought him so im currently at a 99% conoletion because of that)
Makes sense, tbh. After the death of Calamity, the champions' spirits would have moved on. Without them or C. Ganon to pilot them, it makes sense that the Beasts would have shut down. Plus, with Ganon gone, the Beasts have served their purpose.
@@-Rutherford- it was probably stripped of dangerous functions because sheikah tech likely was ordered to get destroyed because it kinda helped ganon destroy the kingdom
I just thought that the purah pad was purahs sheikah slate that originally had the de-aging rune that made purah become a child in the first game, then after she re-aged enough she removed the age related stuff because she thought it just wasn't useful anymore.
Well more like downgraded all you can do is view the map and take pictures the sheika slate had bombs, stasis, the ability to just make little pillars of ice in water, and the ability to only move metal lol
It seems pretty obvious they used the sheikah slate to reverse engineer it and make the purah pad. The fact that theres a poster with instructions hints they produced more than one, maybe just gave to important people, and used the parts from all the guardians and stuff to build with
@@staruniverse4967 well yeah if they wanted to mass produce it. Some features would have to be stripped but once they learn the technology they can add it later, just like you do with the sheikah slate. You had to download the runes
Wrong. They stopped functionning and were scrapped for parts. Ganon was destroyed. Then came back as a fully realised ganondorf. Who was also promptly killed for good. Now there's no more calamities that could occur from either of them.
i think the sheikah slate was taken apart to reverse engineer the purah pad, i do hope we get dlc to bring back the slate and its runes though, even though i doubt it
@@kikosawa it wasnt to enhance it, it was to create a new version of it suited for everyday life, if we get a trilogy for botw i wouldnt be surprised if the purah pad became a household item that all the npcs have
I think the divine beasts, Shrines, and towers sunk into the earth since their duty was fulllfilled. I think the Guardians just fell apart because they sensed that they had been misused and were then used to make the Skyview towers. The sheikah slate was taken apart to reverse engineer the Purah Pad for eventual mass production and then the parts were used for something in the towers maybe.
The only problem with that argument is that they didn't come up on their own, nor back down on their own after the first Calamity 10,000 years ago. The Hylians buried them initially, then dug them back up later.
This is the first argument in this thread that actually makes sense. It's probably in the Hateno lab... or that's what I would say if there wasn't a second one already there.
I'm pretty sure that the original Shiekah Slate was a lot closer to death than we realize. Look at the edges of the Purah Pad screen, and you see that everything is clean and steady. Look at the same edges on the Sheikah Slate, and you see lines of script moving about. Purah was able to salvage enough from what was left to make the Purah Pad, but not enough to save the Runes.
My thoughts on it are that the towers and shrines went back into the ground, the divine Beasts and guardians were demolished and repurposed, and the Shiekah Slate was turned into the Purah Pad after tweaks.
divine beasts also reburied themselves shrines were destroyed when ganon woke back up not sure what happened to link’s sheikah slate, but the purah pad was made from scratch and is only based on the sheikah slate’s design
would have been better if they had left the remains as something to go back and look at like vah ruta could be on its side and broken idk just seems cool in my head or like vah naboris half buried in the sand . just a silly idea
@@cernunnos8344 Well I mean Tulin looks a good bit older, purah became an adult, a few of the characters look a bit more aged, tarrey town is all built up and hudson has his own construction company. I think its fair to say at the least maybe 2-3 years passed
There are still lots of people who haven't played botw and the game is seeing a spike in sales since totk has renewed interest. I don't think it's that strange that some content creators are still mindful of spoilers.
@@colehamrick6252 I definitely agree, but since these are shorts and many people will encounter this video through scrolling rather than choosing to click on it, it's still a nice little warning. A spoiler takes just a second of effort to add and it's courteous to do it, so I'm not sure why people are confused to see one where a story driven plot is concerned. Whether or not we think people should play botw first (and I do, I would definitely raise an eyebrow of someone told me they did it in reverse order) doesn't mean we should discourage spoiler warnings. I appreciated the one in this video specifically bc I encountered the video while sitting beside my roommate who has yet to finish botw :)
I’d guess that the shiekah slate was disassembled for research, leading to the Purah Pad. I’d also like to raise the point that a few shiekah shrines were replaced with holes to the depths, but I don’t know what that implies. Maybe they went back underground? Maybe the Upheaval took them out? Idk
i think it has to deal with zelda going back in time for some reason because when she brought the purah pad back in time there was no reason to construct a sheikah slate and start the sheikah revolution
@@ConductorElcrest Its on the zelda wiki and im pretty sure its stated in the game. I mean where else would you find the divine beasts unless they were under ground.
@@ackflaminco2902 Don’t trust the zelda wiki. It’s known for having incorrect statements and headcanons on it. Where in the game did you find the statement that the divine beast were reburied
Zelda had the skeika slate with her when she fell at the beginning, the gardians were re purposed in the towers, the arms and the sound when they grab you before yeah launch
My guess on the shiekah slate is similar. It was dismantled for study, but being older tech, it wasn't made to be taken apart and thus was essentially broken. Purah used her knowledge of what she saw inside to build a new one, called this new model the Purah Pad, then made more for others who needed them.
The sheilah slate probably became the purah pad, after purah and Robbie modified it. And we know the towers were hidden below ground until the great Plateau one was activated so they probably went back underground, and the shrines probably buried themselves as well. But you know, just a theory. A GAME THEORY!
@@PBIX The thing is, ultrahand is better than magnesis, and cryonis got replaced by frost emitters and frost weapons, bombs are now bomb flowers and recall is basically stasis. And they made two many glitches
@@JamesTecho I get that but in universe the slate runes were still helpful, yes there were replacements but why get rid of it in an upgrade if you can simply have them as a just in case
@@snarleybadger2709 you know how when ancient arrows hit something in the eye it just dissappear's? Yeah I think you know where I'm going with this lol
It'd be interesting if because of Zelda going back in time in then corrected the timeline where instead of all the tech being from the sheika it came from the Zonai instead which is why all the shrines have been revamped and such
there is proof on the map on totk that the uh goro divine beast have remains of it just walking the dark mark's north of the volcano has marks of the divine beast
What happened to the divine beasts and guardians after BotW!?!? The same answer as what happened to the Terminators after humanity won the War against THE MACHINES!!!
I do find it kind of neat that they handwaved MOST of the old landmarks disappearing through fallen Sky Island structures. And the towers using what look like Guardian arms for their grabby hands is a very neat hint at what happened to most of the ambient ruins and roaming guardians.
My headcanon is that Shiekah technology was tied to the Calamity. Once the Calamity was defeated, It went back to sleep underground. This caused all Guadians to teleport back to the Towers in Hyrule castle and the towers and shrines to go back to slumber. The remaining scraps of Shiekah Technology was later repourpoused to Skyview Towers and Purah pads as a way to use Shiekah technology in the Present. The Shiekah slate and Ancient furnaces most likely retreated below the underground as well, although the Slate most likeky got scrapped as well into the Purah pad.
My headcanon is Purah has the Shiekah slate but is still trying to study it to recreate the effects. She's already figured out the GPS and teleport features, now she just has to work out how to break other laws of physics like ignoring thermodynamics to make ice blocks, momentarily stopping time for a specific object, materializing matter from nothing, and fluctuating electromagnetism so you can both attract and repel ferrous objects at a moments notice. She probably would've given it back to Link to use at the start of the game if he didn't appear with new god powers
My serious headcanon for the shiekah slate is between BotW and TotK, Purah and Robbie dismantled it to reverse engineer it to recover lost knowledge of the Shiekah. The Purah Pad is the result, which they intended to make several of for important people around Hyrule, with the first prototype being gifted to Zelda shortly before TotK. But they’re still refining the process and some components of the original Shiekah slate were too intricate to copy with the tools they had at hand, so while they waited to make the necessary tools to be developed, they had to recycle those components into the prototype Purah Pad, and then the Upheaval happened and changed their priorities from manufacturing more to keeping the Kingdom from falling apart and then getting the one prototype Link has into tip-top shape.
Shieka slate was returned to Zelda at the end of BOTW because it was hers to begin with when she was investigating shieka Ancient tech. Purah (and Robbie) was working on tweaking it into the purah pad before Zelda fell into the chasm in TOTK. When Zelda went back in time she left it with the constructs all those centuries so they could give it to Link after the upheaval. The shieka slate became the purah pad, traveled back in time and then ended up back in Link’s hands via the constructs.
You know, I always thought that the skyview towers kinda looked like repurposed shrine elevators they had excavated and reprogrammed to move at mach 10 speeds
My ideas on each 1. The Skyview Towers are rebuilt Sheikah towers, as you can see they glow blue from the inside. But these towers are in different locations 2. Most of the guardians were being kept alive by the malice, they completely distnegrate when attacked. So I believe when the malic resolved, they all fell into nothing. The already dilapidated ones were probably used for parts. 3. The Sheikah Slate is implied to he modified into the Purah Pad. The only thing I can't particularly explain is the disappearance of the Sheikah shrines. Can't deduce a good reason that they'd be destroyed. The Shrine of Resurrection is shown to have fallen into deep disrepair (and then be inhabited by Yiga). But the rest of the shrines are far underground. To dig that all that up or fill in the hole would be so much effort, and I dont think enough time has passed since the end of BoTW for that to happen.
1: That’s the most likely theory. After all, it's stated that they were created to be accessible to anyone, nor just Link. 2: Yeah, no. They explode when heavily damaged. Malice leaving them is shown to leave them intact, as shown by Zelda unlocking her powers. 3: Wrong again. The Purah Pad is stated to be created by Purah and Robbie. It can be assumed that its a reverse-engineered Shiekah Slate, so it's probably in Purah's lab somewhere. Good catch on the Shrines' interiors being underground. Most people seem to forget that. Yeah, I can't imagine what happened to the Shrines, though it's possible that the Shrine of Resurrection was ransacked by the Yiga.
