Correction: At 1:14 I said 2011 when I meant 2001. I mixed up the numbers in my head when reading the script and didn't catch it. This video is family friendly. #LonelyIsland #TheLonelyIsland • Ka-Blamo!
Why don't you start working out again?... Get on the juice and stuff... And then make videos with massive veins popping out of your neck. & Make it akward by constantly not addressing why you put on 30 lbs of muscle in two weeks. Then like start full out denying it make it a weird " THING", of your already good channel .
@@mrgjsolorio Jorma was in "Coral Palms - Part 1" (Season 4, episode 1), and Akiva was in "Show Me Going" (Season 5, episode 20). Jorma also directed "Thanksgiving" (Season 1, episode 10).
Damn, the Lonely Island crew are 40 now? Wow.. I kinda feel old. Miss earlier RU-vid’s style of content. Before vlogging and family friendly videos were this sites center piece.
Oh man, you totally forgot when they did the song Everything is Awesome with Tegan and Sara for the Lego Movie, which even scored an Oscar nomination. I remember watching them perform the song at the ceremony! They were awesome!!
It's funny when people don't understand that. I remember someone giving out about it to a friend of mine via twitter, 140 characters at a time after my friend won a popularity competition. Mind you I think this competition has judges so it might not be pure popularity. Someone else I'm subbed to on RU-vid is a judge which is interesting.
1. Its not pronounced jorma. Its yourm-ah. 2. Its popstar: never stop never stopping, not never stop stopping 3. If you're going to do a background on them, highlight the amazing movie they made Hot Rod

Another super informative video! I knew them from SNL, which I only watch every so often. But I didn't know about the history of the group. I always liked their videos.
"Yolo with Kendrick Lamar" My, have times changed. Hardly anyone knew who Kendrick Lamar was at the time and he was spitting a verse about 401k's while Adam Levine was one of the biggest stars in music.
I appreciated this more than I should have. Though I'm a year late to the party, it's good to hear more in detail of what happened to The Lonely Island. Especially after learning about Andy being the main character in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
They actually just performed their first ever live show in San Francisco for Comedy Central's Colossal Clusterfest in July 2018! I was at the concert and it was absolutely amazing!!! They performed so many of their great songs with elaborate costumes, video elements, and some great guest stars. Michael Bolton, T-Pain, Chris Parnell, and a few other surprises helped The Lonely Island create a truly spectacular concert experience that felt more like a swan song.
I was like "I was already doing advanced video editing in 2011" and came to comment, then saw your description and comment stating it was supposed to be 2001 :')
We like sports was the first video I ever watched on RU-vid! I also thought Popstar was hilarious and made me genuinely laugh out loud. But... when I watched it with my husband, a lot of the humor went over his head because he didn't quite understand why it was so funny. If you don't have a grasp on pop culture, I can see how you'd have a hard time enjoying it.
They just made a pretty decent comeback w “The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience” i have friends that aren’t even baseball fans that are big fans of it. Plus they had decently big names to be in it like Sia, Sterling K Brown, Jenny Slate, Hannah Simone
Please do Norm MacDonald Live. It was my favorite talk show style channel on RU-vid and absolutely hilarious. It's channel has now been deleted and those historic and priceless video are all gone. kaput. Did he move them to another platform? I saw in the news he got a new gig on Netflix but I need to know the whole story. Can you help me out bro?? I don't have a Netflix account so I'm wondering if he moved them over there or did he just delete them because it was some seriously dark humor and maybe hurt hhis family friendly image? So many questions??
It came as a surprise, but they did just release a movie (or tv special) on Netflix. That was probably eating up alot of time. A couple of them are also actors.
Omg, I LOVE Alone Together. It’s so fucking funny. Benji and Esther just have amazing characters and due to their past history with comedy writing, the way they deliver lines is just brilliant. They just mix in satire, sarcasm, irony and meta jokes so fucking well. 10/10
This was terrible. Not only from the fact that you keep pronouncing things wrong but also that several projects and actually developments were totally skipped. Hot Rod, several albums, and their sketch show "Party Over Here" that is still going till this day!! I don't know how you can miss all that since they are still a group that is still together through other means like being producers. Also they are talking about a new album. Pretty insane you are happy with this result of your video. Also to add to my comment. They got an Oscar nomination from the Lego Movie. How could you miss all this? Did it take you 2 hours to make this video? Never mentioned Dick in a Box once, a video that won them several awards and arguable their most successful with Lazy Sunday.I just keep thinking of more and more that you missed. How can you overlook all of this?
This video reminds me of people making "Where are they now?" videos for Weird Al Yankovic. He's released an album every 3-4 years typically (Alpocalypse took 5 years, but he was experimenting with digital releases) and people kept making videos talking about him being "gone". He was interviewed once and asked about it, said he thought it was funny because his album consistency hasn't changed but every time there's a gap someone new either makes a video or asks him if he plans a comeback album.
Way to beat a guy down. I'm sure reading this didn't make him self-conscious at all, dude. The information you've provided is constructive, but fucking act like a goddamn adult. Stop fucking bullying a kid, and communicate shit more constructively next time.
Honestly, not catching 2001 vs 2011, even in editing, kinda made this whole thing lose credibility. Don't correct a major discrepancy like that in the comments! Either correct in vid or reupload, man. Come on.
@@oldflowers1342 How was my comment "bullying a kid". This is a RU-vidr who makes money off these videos and is also in his 20s. He was happy with this work and I pointed out that it was not good at all. Please calm down about a comment I wrote 2 months ago.
Does this video mention Natalie's Rap 2.0? Also, with Samberg slowly reaching Jack Black levels of fame, Lonely Island releases will end up taking as long as Tenacious D albums to release.
Hey, would you ever do What Happened to Knox Korner AKA Robert Benfer AKA Klay World? Me and my brother used to love his channel when I was like 7 and it was moderately popular, but he totally vanished. I'm really interested.
You completely skipped over Hot Rod , which came out in 2007. They also produced two films with Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Lego Movie, and Brigsby Bear. This was a terribly researched video. Lonely Island still does stuff together all the time, they're far from dead. They're literally on tour right now.
Good video, I love your content. That being said, forgive me for being a dick as I point out some things you missed: 1. The gang made a sketch show pilot for FOX called Awesome Town before they were on SNL. 2. The gang now run a production company called Lonely Island Classics that produces films and shows like Brigsby Bear and I'm Sorry.
its nice to have an INTERNET misery every week, but will that be good on your min tell health and stuff, i would love to see that show weakly, but will it lose its charm if its on every week?
For everyone who don't know who these guys are, one thing they did that's kinda influential to the internet was popularizing Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek song or the "mmm whatcha say" song.
Guys they have a new film called Palm Springs that they announce so soon I think we should get a trailer and it’s prob gonna come out in a couple of years
